Kompyte Review (2026): Now Adobe's, Still No Price, and the Hour-a-Week Promise
Kompyte is the competitive intelligence platform most buyers shortlist third, after Klue and Crayon, because it is cheaper and faster to stand up. It is also the one whose ownership has changed twice since 2022, most recently to Adobe in April 2026, and the one whose G2 listing now carries a different company name than its own footer. This review reads Kompyte's plans page, its three review-site listings, the Adobe and Semrush disclosures and the Reddit threads where buyers price it, then adds what four AI answer engines say when asked about it.
Key takeaways
- Kompyte has had three owners: independent from its 2014 founding in Barcelona, Semrush from a deal announced 28 February 2022, and Adobe since Semrush's acquisition completed on 28 April 2026. On 4 September 2026 G2 listed it as Kompyte By Adobe; kompyte.com's footer still said Semrush Inc.
- No public price. The plans page shows three tiers with limits and no figures: Essentials at 10 companies and 25 users, Professional at 20 and 100, Unlimited with SSO. Annual contracts, paid by wire or cheque. Third-party estimates put it below Klue and Crayon; a founder who asked for a quote called it extremely expensive.
- The pitch is speed and effort: one to two weeks to full deployment, first insights in 24 to 48 hours, and an hour a week to run. The reviews say the hour is real, and that the information goes stale if nobody spends it.
- G2 on the day: 4.3 on 102 reviews, 50 percent five-star, 44 percent four-star, none below three. Lower than Klue's 4.7 and Crayon's 4.6, with a distribution that says satisfied rather than delighted. TrustRadius carries three reviews, the newest from 2023. Capterra's reviews cluster in February 2023.
- Complaints, in reviewers' words: irrelevant news the AI pulls, smaller competitors it misses, 'a little simplistic' for dedicated CI teams, a help centre that 'doesn't help that much', and information that is outdated unless the team maintains it.
- No MCP server on Kompyte's pages. Semrush has one that covers SEO, traffic and market data and does not mention Kompyte. Klue leads with one in the Claude Connector Directory. On agent readiness Kompyte sits with Crayon, behind.
- Measured on our own 21 buying questions, Kompyte was named in seven answers and recommended in all seven, on Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity, and never on Gemini. ChatGPT searched 'Kompyte Reddit data' before answering a question about tools that use Reddit and review-site data.
01The short answer
Kompyte is the competitive intelligence platform for a sales-led team that wants battlecards in Salesforce or HubSpot quickly, without a Crayon-sized bill or a Klue-sized programme. Its own plans page promises full deployment in one to two weeks, insights in 24 to 48 hours, and about an hour a week to run, with a dedicated customer success manager on every tier. The review base, 4.3 on G2 across 102 reviews with nothing below three stars, says that promise mostly holds, and that the buyers who kept it are sales enablement people who like battlecards that live where reps work.
The complaints are about depth, not value. The AI pulls news that is not relevant. It misses smaller competitors. Dedicated CI teams find it simplistic on product functionality, financial health and executive moves. Information goes stale unless someone maintains it, and the help centre is thin. None of that is disqualifying at Kompyte’s price; all of it is the difference between the tier below Klue and Crayon and the tier they occupy.
The fact no other review leads with: Kompyte has been sold twice in four years. Semrush bought it in 2022 and Adobe bought Semrush in April 2026. Its G2 listing already says Kompyte By Adobe while its own footer says Semrush Inc. A buyer signing an annual contract is signing with a product line two acquisitions deep inside a company whose stated priority is brand visibility in AI interfaces. That might be good for Kompyte. It is certainly a question to ask before you pay by wire transfer.
02Two owners in four years, and what the pages say about it
Kompyte was founded in Barcelona in 2014 as a website change-tracking tool for marketers and repositioned toward sales enablement; ZoomInfo’s review, citing the acquisition coverage, names the founders and its passage through 500 Startups. Semrush announced it would acquire Kompyte on 28 February 2022; Semrush’s later filings describe Kompyte as a wholly owned subsidiary with the purchase accounting final by 30 June 2022, and ZoomInfo puts the price at approximately $10 million with 88 percent of Kompyte’s users in sales organisations at the time, citing Semrush’s investor release. We did not fetch that release ourselves.
Then Semrush was bought. Adobe announced the deal on 19 November 2025 at $12 a share and completed it on 28 April 2026, per Adobe’s press release, which describes Semrush as “a leading brand visibility platform” and frames the purchase around discoverability “as AI interfaces and agents become a primary way for customers to discover, evaluate and engage brands”. The release mentions SEO, generative engine optimisation and agentic search optimisation. It does not mention Kompyte, competitive intelligence or battlecards.
On 4 September 2026 the traces were visible. G2’s listing header read “Kompyte By Adobe”. kompyte.com’s footer read “© 2025 Semrush Inc”. The homepage still cited Semrush’s G2 Summer 2023 report as its leadership proof. A Reddit analysis of nine tools put it plainly: “Kompyte: was a strong mid-market option but got acquired by Semrush. Integration into the larger platform changed the product focus.” We cannot verify what changed inside the product. We can say the public pages have not been updated to reflect who owns it.
03What Kompyte is, from its plans page
The homepage on the day: “Win More Deals with Competitive Intelligence. Close even the most difficult of deals with always up-to-date Battlecards that live where your sales teams work.” And the efficiency claim that runs through every page: “An hour a week is all you need to track dozens of competitors and surface key, deal-winning insights. How? Put your competitive intelligence on autopilot and let AI filter out the noise.”
The plans page is unusually specific about sources, which is to Kompyte’s credit. Website tracking at 50, 100 or 150 URLs per company depending on tier. Reviews from Glassdoor, TrustRadius, Capterra, G2 and Gartner Peer Insights. Blogs, developer pages and press via RSS. Job posts from LinkedIn and Indeed. Social on LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. App tracking on Google Play and the App Store. Search marketing, ads and organic, at 25, 100 or 200 keywords by tier, which is the Semrush inheritance. Twenty thousand mentions a month on every tier. AI Daily Summaries, AI Insight Curation, automated company profiles, automation workflows and alerts, unlimited battlecards and reports, ROI reporting and win/loss analysis, battlecard adoption analytics, custom dashboards, a browser extension.
Integrations named on the day: Salesforce and HubSpot for CRM, Slack and Teams, and in the FAQ Highspot, Showpad, Trello, Google Drive and OneDrive, all included at no extra charge. Win-loss is “automated win/loss calculations” from the sales tools plus a research partner, IcebergIQ, for interview-based win/loss and churn insight. Kompyte does not run buyer interviews itself, which puts it with Crayon rather than Klue on that axis.
The support model is the other half of the pitch: a dedicated customer success manager on every plan, personalised onboarding, no onboarding or support fees, competitors swappable at no cost. Several of the positive reviews below are about that person rather than the software, which is worth knowing when you ask who your CSM will be after the Adobe integration.
04Kompyte pricing in September 2026: three tiers, no numbers
The plans page has tiers and limits and no prices. kompyte.com/pricing returned a 404 on 4 September 2026. The FAQ says: “The factors determining price are: the number of competitors tracked, the number of licenses you need, and whether or not you require SSO and advanced permission management.” Plans are annual, “shorter subscription periods may be available for a premium”, and payment is by wire transfer and cheque. A user is “any person logging into Kompyte, sharing or consuming competitor intel via email, email digest, in the CRM, or via other integrations”, which means a seller who only reads a battlecard in Salesforce is a licence.
| Essentials | Professional | Unlimited | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Companies tracked | 10 | 20 | Unlimited |
| User licences | 25 | 100 | Unlimited |
| Website tracking | 50 URLs per company | 100 URLs per company | 150 URLs per company |
| Search marketing keywords | 25 | 100 | 200 |
| Mentions | 20,000 a month | 20,000 a month | 20,000 a month |
| Companies database | No | Yes | Yes |
| SSO and advanced permissions | No | No | Yes |
| Battlecards, reports, alerts, integrations, CSM | Unlimited, included | Unlimited, included | Unlimited, included |
| Price | Not published | Not published | Not published |
What the third parties say, none of it sourced to a Kompyte rate card. Parano.ai, a competing vendor, writes that procurement sources “consistently position it below both Crayon and Klue at comparable deployment sizes, and cheaper still for teams already paying for a Semrush subscription”. Our own Kompyte versus Klue comparison, published earlier this year, cited an entry figure of $5,000 to $8,000 a year from aggregator estimates, against roughly $16,000 for Klue. A founder on r/Entrepreneur in April 2024 who asked both for quotes: “I reached out also to Klue and Kompyte, but their products are extremely (and I mean extremely) expensive.” A founder on r/microsaas building a competing tool put Klue, Crayon and Kompyte at “$500-1500/month”. Treat all of it as directional.
05What G2, Capterra and TrustRadius say
G2, fetched on 4 September 2026: 4.3 out of 5 on 102 reviews, 50 percent five-star, 44 percent four-star, 5 percent three-star, none at two or one. That is a full half-point below Klue’s 4.7 and three tenths below Crayon’s 4.6, on a quarter of the review volume. ZoomInfo’s review, citing G2’s comparison grid, reports Kompyte at 7.7 on Reporting and 7.3 on Alerts, below category leaders. Capterra: the reviews we could read cluster on 13 to 17 February 2023, with overall scores of 4 and 5 and likelihood-to-recommend from 5 to 10; Copy.ai’s summary reports 4.6 on 37 reviews, which we did not confirm. TrustRadius: three reviews, the newest from 2023. Gartner Peer Insights is bot-walled; its search snippet reads “Kompyte suffers from functional gaps in its AI features, data source depth” beside a 4.0 review.
G2 dislikes, in reviewers’ words. “One potential downside of Kompyte is that it may not capture all of the smaller competitors in a given market. While it is highly effective at tracking larger competitors, smaller companies may not always be included.” “Sometimes the news articles pulled by the AI were not as relevant to my organization. This resulted in an increased workload for me as I had to sift through multiple articles to find the ones that were relevant.” “For organizations that have dedicated resources working on competitive intel, they may find Kompyte to be a little simplistic to meet their needs. The tool doesn’t do a great job with regard to competitor product functionality, financial health, key executive changes and market sentiment.” “I’m not a huge fan of the help center, because I feel like it doesn’t help that much.” “One of the only things I don’t love about kompyte is the lack of updated info. There are a lot of vague descriptions listed which doesn’t help when I need something specific.” “Information could be kept up to date better, outdated information can be worse than not having information to begin with.” Several reviewers report no complaints.
TrustRadius: “Overwhelming amount of information at the start, but working with customer rep allows for strategic onboarding. Tools aren’t available to consumer users, only admin. Not many examples of how to structure the content.” And a longer one: “Kompyte has a tool that is supposed to track ads after specific keywords are bid on by competitors; however, competing platforms offer greater visibility and analytics for this function. The Notebook function ... doesn’t seem to be automatically updated and it requires a lot of manual processes.” Capterra praise is about the representative: “Customer service, our representative is amazing and has gone above and beyond for us,” and about Salesforce: “I also enjoy having this data integrated into our Salesforce platform.” One Capterra reviewer: “I think most of the functionalities are not being updated every 3 months.”
“For organizations that have dedicated resources working on competitive intel, they may find Kompyte to be a little simplistic to meet their needs. The tool doesn't do a great job with regard to competitor product functionality, financial health, key executive changes and market sentiment.”
Read together, the reviews describe a product that sales enablement people like and CI analysts outgrow, which is the same thing the pricing says. The recurring “out of date” complaint has a specific shape here: reviewers blame themselves for not maintaining it, which tells you Kompyte’s hour a week is a floor, not a ceiling.
06What buyers say on Reddit
Kompyte is mentioned less on Reddit than Klue or Crayon, and most of the mentions are in lists. Attribution is to the subreddit only; posts by people selling an alternative are excluded, which removed most of the 2026 mentions.
The nine-tool analysis, r/SaaS, 100 comments: “Kompyte: was a strong mid-market option but got acquired by Semrush. Integration into the larger platform changed the product focus.” The same post’s conclusion is the gap every CI thread describes: “there’s basically nothing between free change alerts with no interpretation and $15K+/year enterprise CI platforms.”
The founder who asked for quotes, r/Entrepreneur, April 2024: “I reached out also to Klue and Kompyte, but their products are extremely (and I mean extremely) expensive. I also tried out RivalSense for a two-week free trial and it was great in quality but I’m not in a stage where I can afford $80 per month.” That is the buyer Kompyte is nearest to and still does not reach.
The list-makers: r/EntrepreneurRideAlong groups “SEMrush, Crayon, Kompyte” as “priced for enterprise”; r/microsaas puts “Klue, Crayon, Kompyte” at “$500-1500/month, way out of range for early-stage”; r/SaaS threads about competitor pricing monitoring name “Kompyte, Klue, Crayon: all enterprise, all require sales calls”. Nobody on Reddit, in the threads we read, describes using Kompyte today. The two practitioners who describe living with a CI platform in r/ProductMarketing use Crayon and Klue.
“Kompyte: was a strong mid-market option but got acquired by Semrush. Integration into the larger platform changed the product focus.”
07Agent readiness: Semrush has an MCP server, Kompyte does not
Semrush ships an MCP server. Its page, read on 4 September 2026, says “Access Semrush’s full dataset right from ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and more”, that MCP access is included in Semrush One and SEO Classic plans and available to API users, and that it connects to Claude, Cursor, VS Code and Claude Code. The data it describes is search data: keywords, domain profiles, traffic, market trends. It does not mention Kompyte, battlecards or competitive intelligence in the sense Kompyte sells it.
Kompyte’s own navigation carries a “Kompyte GPT” item, which is a custom GPT, not an MCP server, and its pages describe integrations into Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Teams and the enablement tools rather than into an assistant. So the honest statement for a buyer is: if you already pay for Semrush, your assistant can reach Semrush’s search data over MCP today, and there is no public evidence it can reach your Kompyte battlecards. Klue’s homepage leads with a server in the Claude Connector Directory. Crayon shows none. Kompyte sits with Crayon.
Adobe’s stated reason for buying Semrush is visibility in AI interfaces and agents. If that strategy reaches Kompyte, an MCP surface is the obvious first step. If it does not, Kompyte is the product line furthest from the new owner’s centre of gravity. Either way, ask.
08Measured: what four AI engines say about Kompyte
This section is ours and is labelled as such. On 4 September 2026 we ran our own Answer Radar project for linkeddit.com, 21 approved buying questions about competitive intelligence and AI visibility tools, through ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity via their official APIs with grounded search. No question named Kompyte; several asked for the best competitive intelligence tools for B2B SaaS, for product marketers, for small teams, for tracking pricing changes, and which tools use Reddit and review-site data. Counts are over samples with a successful response, per engine, because the methodology forbids averaging across engines.
| Engine | Answers naming Kompyte | Of which recommended | Compared with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude | 3 | 3 | Crayon 4 named, Klue 3, Contify 2. Kompyte was recommended every time it was named. |
| ChatGPT | 2 | 2 | Crayon 4 named and recommended; Klue 1, not recommended; Contify 1. |
| Perplexity | 2 | 2 | Klue 2, Contify 2, Crayon 1. Three admissible samples only; too few to read. |
| Gemini | 0 | 0 | Klue 7 named, Crayon 7, Contify 3. Kompyte absent from every Gemini answer. |
Seven answers named Kompyte and all seven recommended it, the highest recommendation ratio of the four CI vendors we measured, on the smallest count. Gemini, the engine that named Klue and Crayon most, never named Kompyte at all. The fan-out view shows one reason a tracker matters here: on the question about competitive intelligence tools that use Reddit and review-site data, ChatGPT searched “Kompyte Reddit data” before answering. The engine went looking for Kompyte on a question that named no vendor, which is a form of visibility Kompyte earned and cannot see without a measurement like this one.
These are our measurements on our prompts, one run, one sample per prompt per engine. They are evidence of how the engines answered on that day, not a market share.
09Kompyte vs Linkeddit Compete, and when to pick Kompyte
We sell a competitive intelligence product, so this comparison is interested. Kompyte is the rival nearest to us on price and the furthest on job.
| Kompyte | Linkeddit Compete | Source | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Published price | None; three tiers with limits; annual, wire or cheque | $99 a month | Vendor pages, 4 September 2026 |
| Owner | Adobe, via Semrush, since April 2026 | Independent | Adobe press release; G2 listing |
| Core job | Battlecards in the CRM, competitor tracking across websites, reviews, jobs, social, ads; win/loss calculations | A weekly graded brief per tracked competitor: moves, pricing, hiring, and user complaints mined from review sites, Reddit and blogs | Vendor pages |
| Setup | 1 to 2 weeks with a dedicated CSM; insights in 24 to 48 hours | Minutes; no CSM | kompyte.com/plans |
| Win-loss | Automated calculations from CRM data; interviews via partner IcebergIQ | None | kompyte.com |
| AI answer visibility | None on its pages | Answer Radar: what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude say about you and your competitors, with the fix loop | Vendor pages |
| Review-site mining | Glassdoor, TrustRadius, Capterra, G2, Gartner PI as tracked sources | G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot complaints per competitor in the weekly brief | kompyte.com/plans |
| MCP | None found; Semrush MCP covers search data only | 65 tools in one keyless OAuth 2.1 connector, 37 of them Answer Radar | semrush.com/mcp, 4 September 2026 |
| Who it is built for | Sales enablement teams with a CRM and 25 to 100 seller licences | Founders, small marketing teams, agencies without a five-figure line | Review sites, Reddit, our onboarding data |
Pick Kompyte over Linkeddit when the deliverable is a battlecard inside Salesforce or HubSpot for a sales team of 25 to 100, when you want a customer success manager to stand it up in two weeks, when Semrush search data next to competitor tracking is useful to you, and when Klue and Crayon quotes came back too high. Linkeddit builds no battlecards, calculates no win rates and has no CSM.
Pick Linkeddit over Kompyte when the job is knowing what your competitors did this week and what their users are complaining about, at a price a small team can approve without a wire transfer; when you also need to know what AI engines say when a buyer asks for the best tool in your category, which Kompyte does not measure; and when you want the whole thing callable from Claude or Cursor rather than from a tab or a custom GPT.
See what your competitors did this week, and what the engines say about them
10Verdict: is Kompyte worth it?
Yes, for a sales enablement team that wants competitor battlecards in the CRM inside two weeks, has 25 to 100 sellers to license, and would rather pay less than Klue or Crayon and accept less depth. The review base is positive without being enthusiastic, the plans page is the most transparent in the category about what each tier includes, and the customer success model earns real praise.
No, for a dedicated CI analyst who will find it simplistic, for a founder who cannot get a quote they can afford, and, with a caveat, for anyone who needs to know where the product will be in two years. Two acquisitions since 2022, a new owner whose press release does not mention competitive intelligence, a homepage still citing a 2023 G2 report, and no MCP surface while the owner’s stated strategy is AI interfaces: those are not reasons to avoid Kompyte, but they are the questions to put in writing before an annual contract paid by wire.
What we could not verify: a price for any tier; the Capterra review count Copy.ai reports; whether the product focus changed after the Semrush acquisition as the r/SaaS post claims; and whether Adobe intends an MCP surface for Kompyte. What we did verify is dated, sourced, and above.
11Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
How much does Kompyte cost?+
Kompyte publishes no price. On 4 September 2026 kompyte.com/plans listed three tiers, Essentials, Professional and Unlimited, with limits but no figures, and kompyte.com/pricing returned a 404. The plans FAQ says price depends on competitors tracked, licences needed, and whether you require SSO and advanced permissions; plans are annual, shorter terms cost a premium, and payment is by wire transfer or cheque. Third-party estimates put it below Crayon and Klue; the comparison we published earlier this year cited $5,000 to $8,000 a year at entry, unsourced beyond aggregator pages. A founder on r/Entrepreneur who asked both Klue and Kompyte for quotes called them "extremely (and I mean extremely) expensive".
Who owns Kompyte?+
Adobe, since 28 April 2026. Kompyte was founded in Barcelona in 2014, acquired by Semrush in a deal announced on 28 February 2022, and Semrush itself was acquired by Adobe in a transaction announced in November 2025 and completed on 28 April 2026, per Adobe's press release. On the day we fetched it, G2 listed the product as Kompyte By Adobe while kompyte.com's footer still read Semrush Inc. Two ownership changes in four years is the single most important fact about Kompyte for anyone signing an annual contract.
Is Kompyte worth it?+
For a sales-led team that wants battlecards inside Salesforce or HubSpot in one to two weeks, with a dedicated customer success manager and no appetite for a Crayon-sized bill, the review base says yes: 4.3 on G2 across 102 reviews with no one- or two-star reviews. The complaints are about depth and freshness rather than value: news the AI pulls that is not relevant, smaller competitors it misses, information that goes stale unless the team maintains it, and a help centre reviewers find thin. Its own plans page promises an hour a week; the reviews suggest that hour is real and mandatory.
What does Kompyte track?+
Per its plans page on the day: competitor websites at 50, 100 or 150 URLs per company by tier; review sites (Glassdoor, TrustRadius, Capterra, G2, Gartner Peer Insights); blogs, developer pages and press via RSS; job posts on LinkedIn and Indeed; social on LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram; Google Play and App Store; and search marketing, ads and organic, at 25, 100 or 200 keywords by tier. Every tier includes 20,000 mentions a month. Win-loss comes from CRM integrations and a research partner, IcebergIQ; Kompyte does not interview buyers itself.
Does Kompyte have an MCP server?+
Not that we could find. Semrush has one, at mcp.semrush.com, included in Semrush One and SEO Classic plans and connectable from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code; its page lists SEO, traffic and market data and does not mention Kompyte. Kompyte's navigation carries a Kompyte GPT item, which is a custom GPT rather than an MCP server. Klue leads its homepage with an MCP server in the Claude Connector Directory; Crayon shows none. Ask Adobe.
How does Kompyte compare to Linkeddit?+
Different jobs and a different buyer, closer in price than Klue or Crayon but still a five-figure annual contract against $99 a month. Kompyte is battlecards and competitor tracking for a sales team, delivered into a CRM. Linkeddit Compete is a weekly graded brief per tracked competitor mined from review sites, Reddit and blogs, plus Answer Radar for what AI engines say about you, with every capability callable over MCP. Kompyte does not measure AI answers; Linkeddit does not build battlecards or calculate win rates. The closing section says when each fits.
