Contify Review (2026): A Million Sources, a Free Trial, No Price, and a Gartner Visionary Badge

Contify is the fourth name on most competitive intelligence shortlists and the one buyers know least about. It is also the only one of the four with a free trial, the only one Gartner placed as a Visionary rather than a Leader, and the one with the highest review scores and the least Reddit chatter. This review reads Contify's own pages on the day, its three review-site listings, its Gartner recognition and the two third-party reviews that exist, then adds what four AI answer engines cite when asked about it.

Key takeaways

  • No public price. contify.com/pricing redirected to the contact page on 4 September 2026. Two third-party estimates, neither from recorded transactions: $1,000 to $2,500 a month from marketintelligencetools.com, "low-to-mid four figures per month" from Tomba. Vendr tracks no Contify purchases.
  • Contify sells breadth: more than one million vetted sources, 200,000 of them non-English across 117 languages, 700,000 companies, SEC filings and regulatory portals, plus your own SharePoint, Gong and Fireflies content. It is market intelligence for a long watch list, not battlecards for a rep on a call.
  • It is the only one of the four enterprise CI platforms we reviewed with a self-serve seven-day free trial, and the only one Gartner placed as a Visionary rather than a Leader in the inaugural 2026 Magic Quadrant for Competitive and Market Intelligence Platforms (21 April 2026).
  • Review scores are the highest of the four: G2 4.5 on 116 with 85 percent five-star and nothing below four; TrustRadius 8.9 out of 10 on six ratings; Capterra 4.0 on a single review. The volume behind them is thin outside G2, and TrustRadius's five reviews all date from 2022.
  • Complaints, in reviewers' words: 'Long implementation/customization time. Somewhat steep learning curve.' 'Automatic tagging ... can be made even more effective.' 'Lacking an application for mobile devices.' Tomba's roundup calls the shape of a typical review 'great after two months of tuning'.
  • Reddit has almost nothing to say. The subreddit that mentions Contify most is one Contify runs. We found no practitioner thread describing living with it, which is itself a data point about who buys it: enterprise analysts, not founders.
  • Measured on our own 21 buying questions, Contify was named in eight answers and recommended in all eight, across all four engines. No MCP server appears on its pages; Klue's does, Crayon's and Kompyte's do not.

01The short answer

Contify is the competitive intelligence platform to buy when the job is market intelligence rather than sales enablement: a long list of competitors, suppliers, key accounts and regulatory bodies, in several languages, routed by a taxonomy to the strategy, product and procurement people who each need a different slice. Its own pages lead with the numbers that make that case, a million sources and 117 languages, and its review scores are the best of the four enterprise CI platforms we reviewed this week.

It is the wrong buy for a sales team that needs a battlecard in Salesforce by Friday, and the reviews say why in one line each: long implementation, a learning curve, tagging that needs tuning, and the analyst hours Contify bundles for exactly that reason. It is also, on the evidence we could find, the platform with the smallest footprint in the places practitioners actually talk. That is not a verdict on the product. It is a warning that you will be doing your own reference calls.

Two facts the vendor-written comparisons skip. Contify is the only one of the four with a free trial you can start without a sales call, which is worth more than any review. And it has no MCP server on any page we read, which puts it with Crayon and Kompyte, behind Klue, on the one axis where the four are not interchangeable.

02What Contify is, from its own pages

Contify is a product of Athena Information Solutions Pvt Ltd, per the copyright line on every page. The contact page lists three offices: Montebello, New York; Mayfair, London; and DLF Corporate Park in Gurugram, India. The about page gives a timeline without years: it “begins its journey as a business information aggregator”, launches an industry intelligence platform, then an enterprise-grade market and competitive intelligence platform, a News API, account intelligence, dashboards, premium sources from GlobalData, Strategy Analytics and ABI Research, a competitive intelligence solution for B2B marketers, integrations with email, Slack, Teams and Salesforce, a Copilot built on generative AI plus knowledge graphs, and most recently Athena, “its agentic AI insights engine, along with API v4 supporting 117+ language translations, and introduced Snowflake integration”. The last entry is the Gartner recognition.

The homepage on 4 September 2026: “Cut through the noise with AI that collects, filters, and delivers decision-ready insights on your market, industry, and competitors. Get intelligence from over 1 Mn+ vetted sources, including news, company websites, SEC filings, social, and more. Get 360° coverage of competitors, customers, partners, and emerging trends across 117+ languages in a single, unified platform.” The platform page adds 700,000 or more companies and 100 or more industry segments, a “7-step curation process, deduplication, and human oversight”, and internal sources: SharePoint documents, Gong or Fireflies transcripts, and field intel via Slack, Teams and email.

Three products are named: the M&CI Platform, a Business News API sold to companies that want a company-based intelligence feed rather than a keyword one, and Athena AI. Delivery is newsletters with your own commentary, automated alerts, dashboards with battlecards and win-loss views, and embeddable widgets for HubSpot and Power BI. Managed services are part of the offer: “bundled analyst hours for secondary research, custom reporting, dashboards, and battlecard creation”. Certifications listed: SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001.

The honest one-line summary: Contify is the platform that watches everything for the analyst; Klue and Crayon are the platforms that hand the seller a card. Contify has battlecards and win-loss views, but they are outputs of a monitoring programme, not the centre of the product.

03Contify pricing in September 2026: a redirect, a trial, and two estimates

Contify publishes no price. On 4 September 2026 the pricing URL redirected to the contact page, which offers a seven-day free trial and a demo. Capterra’s listing reads “Starting Price: Contact vendor” and “Free trial available”. That trial is the one thing about Contify’s pricing a buyer can act on without a call, and none of Klue, Crayon or Kompyte offers it.

What drives the quote, per Tomba’s roundup: tracked entities, seats, custom taxonomy work and whether licensed premium sources are included. marketintelligencetools.com adds the point that matters against the rivals: flat-fee options exist, so “a program tracking 40 competitors, suppliers and key accounts pays the same as one tracking five, which is the opposite of how most of this category prices”. Crayon prices by competitor tracked and Klue per user; if your list is long and your team is small, Contify’s model is the one built for you.

04What G2, TrustRadius, Capterra and Gartner say

G2, fetched on 4 September 2026: 4.5 out of 5 on 116 reviews, 85 percent five-star, 14 percent four-star, and zero at three, two and one. Contify’s own pages cite this figure repeatedly. Review bodies are not exposed through the page we could fetch, so the G2 sentiment we can report is the site’s own summary snippet: users value “the efficiency gains from Contify, appreciating its automated competitor and market insights”. TrustRadius: 8.9 out of 10 on six ratings, five written reviews, every one from April to July 2022. Capterra: 4.0 on a single review from April 2024, which says “When it comes to customer and competitor intelligence, Contify is the very best.”

Visionary
Gartner Magic Quadrant, C&MI Platforms, 21 April 2026

TrustRadius cons, in reviewers’ words. “More visual dashboard. Long implementation/customization time. Somewhat steep learning curve.” “Improved platform response time is possible. Automatic tagging, I believe, is still a viable option for learning and can be made even more effective. Lacking an application for mobile devices, logging in via the mobile browser is challenging in my experience.” “Ability to drill down into news/articles. Better UI.” “Analyst team onboarding/training. QC on email newsletter formatting.” The pros in the same reviews: “Real-time monitoring of public sources. Searchable and customizable database/dashboard. Hybrid ML/manual team support.” “Adding new sources and creating custom taxonomies is a breeze. Customer service and analyst teams can provide helpful hints and reminders.”

Gartner. Contify’s post of 6 May 2026 says Gartner named it a Visionary in the inaugural Magic Quadrant for Competitive and Market Intelligence Platforms, published 21 April 2026, and evaluated it across four use cases in the Critical Capabilities report of 22 April: corporate strategy, go-to-market strategy, product strategy and revenue enablement. Klue and Crayon were named Leaders in the same quadrant per their own posts. A Visionary in Gartner’s vocabulary scores higher on completeness of vision than on ability to execute, which is a polite version of what the TrustRadius reviews say about implementation time. We did not read the Gartner report itself.

More visual dashboard. Long implementation/customization time. Somewhat steep learning curve.
TrustRadius review of Contify, one of five, 2022, fetched 4 September 2026

Two third-party reviews rank for the query and both are worth reading with their authorship in mind. Tomba, which sells contact data, summarises the review pattern as “great after two months of tuning” and “before taxonomy tuning, feeds can be as noisy as the alerts you were trying to escape”. marketintelligencetools.com, a ranking site, concludes: “Buy it if you are tracking a long list and have someone to configure the taxonomy. Skip it if what you need is one good answer for a rep on a call.” We could not find anything in the primary sources that contradicts either.

05What buyers say on Reddit: almost nothing

We searched Reddit for Contify across all time and read every result. The subreddit with the most Contify posts is r/MarketIntelligence, where the posting account is Contify itself sharing case studies; those are excluded. The remaining mentions are two 2022 posts in r/NewsAPI listing Contify’s News Feed API among news APIs, describing it as “a clean, company-based intelligence feed” with “a hybrid approach that combines machine learning technology with human curation” over “200k sources”, a 2022 r/SEOtoolsAndTips explainer that names Contify as an example, and a recommendation-thread reply from a battlecard vendor in r/ProductMarketing listing Contify fifth among seven tools: “Also curate intel from 1m+ sources, so its software + insights.”

That is the whole record. No product marketer describing life with Contify, no founder quoting a Contify price, no r/ProductMarketing thread arguing Contify against Klue the way three threads argue Klue against Crayon. Read it as a fact about the buyer rather than the product: Contify sells to strategy and market intelligence functions at enterprises, in pharma, banking, consulting and manufacturing per its own solutions menu, and those buyers do not post on Reddit. If you are evaluating Contify, plan on reference calls the vendor arranges, and ask for one in your industry and one that churned.

06Agent readiness: an API, widgets, and no MCP server

Contify’s integration story on the day is an API and embeds. The company timeline lists API v4 and a Snowflake integration “to deliver intelligence directly within enterprise cloud environments”. The Business News API is a product in its own right. Widgets embed in HubSpot and Power BI. Slack, Teams, email and Salesforce are integrated for distribution. And every page carries a “Summarize With AI” control that opens the page in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Grok or Gemini, alongside an ai-info page that describes itself as “the authoritative source of verified, structured information about Contify for AI assistants, large language models, generative search engines, and answer engines”.

None of that is an MCP server, and we found no mention of one. Contify has clearly thought about being read by assistants; it has not, on its public pages, made its data callable by them. That puts it with Crayon and Kompyte. Klue leads its homepage with a server listed in the Claude Connector Directory. For a team that works in Claude or Cursor and wants its market intelligence inside the assistant, Contify’s answer today is the API and Snowflake, which is an engineering project rather than a paste of a URL.

Athena, the agentic layer, runs inside Contify. The platform page describes Athena Agents that answer questions “grounded on your curated intelligence datasets”, AI-generated facts, and custom fact and insight prompts you configure. Contify’s Gartner post frames this against consumer LLMs that “pose hallucination risks, fabricate non-existent sources, and lack the traceability required for high-stakes decisions”. That is the right argument and the same one we make about measurement. It is an argument for governed data, which is what an MCP server exposes.

07Measured: what four AI engines say about Contify

This section is ours and is labelled as such. On 4 September 2026 we ran our own Answer Radar project for linkeddit.com, 21 approved buying questions about competitive intelligence and AI visibility tools, through ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity via their official APIs with grounded search. No question named Contify; several asked for the best competitive intelligence tools for B2B SaaS, for product marketers, for small teams and for tracking pricing changes. Counts are over samples with a successful response, per engine, because the methodology forbids averaging across engines.

EngineAnswers naming ContifyOf which recommendedCompared with
Gemini33Klue 7 named, Crayon 7, Kompyte 0.
Claude22Crayon 4 named, Klue 3, Kompyte 3.
Perplexity22Klue 2, Kompyte 2, Crayon 1. Three admissible samples only; too few to read.
ChatGPT11Crayon 4 named, Kompyte 2, Klue 1.

Eight answers named Contify and all eight recommended it, and it was the only one of the four CI vendors named by every engine. It was also the one named least often overall: Crayon 16, Klue 13, Contify 8, Kompyte 7. So the engines know Contify and think well of it, but reach for Crayon and Klue first when a buyer asks for a competitive intelligence tool, which matches the SERP, where Contify’s own category pages and two thin third-party reviews are what a searcher finds.

These are our measurements on our prompts, one run, one sample per prompt per engine. They are evidence of how the engines answered on that day, not a market share.

08Contify vs Linkeddit Compete, and when to pick Contify

We sell a competitive intelligence product, so this comparison is interested. Of the four platforms we reviewed, Contify is the furthest from us in scope and the closest in one attitude: it argues for governed data over general-purpose AI, and so do we.

Pick Contify over Linkeddit when the list is long and the languages are many: dozens of competitors, suppliers and accounts across regions, regulatory portals that matter, and stakeholder groups in strategy, product and procurement who each need their own newsletter. When you want analyst hours bundled rather than doing the work yourself. And when a flat fee for a wide watch list beats per-competitor pricing. Linkeddit tracks the competitors you name, in English, from the sources buyers actually read, and supplies no analysts.

Pick Linkeddit over Contify when the job is knowing what a handful of named competitors did this week and what their users are complaining about, at a price a small team approves without a procurement cycle; when you also need to know what AI engines say when a buyer asks for the best tool in your category, because Contify does not measure that; and when you want the whole thing callable from Claude or Cursor today rather than through an API integration.

Linkeddit Compete is a weekly graded brief per tracked competitor mined from review sites, Reddit and blogs, with Answer Radar for AI answer visibility, at $99 a month, every capability callable over MCP. It is built for the team that does not have an analyst to configure a taxonomy.

09Verdict: is Contify worth it?

Yes, for the buyer it names on its own solutions menu: a market intelligence, strategy or research team at an enterprise with a long, multilingual watch list and someone to configure the taxonomy. The source breadth is the highest claimed in the category, the review scores are the best of the four platforms we reviewed, Gartner placed it in its first quadrant, the free trial is real, and the flat-fee option fits a wide list the way its rivals’ pricing does not.

No, for a sales team that needs a battlecard this week, and no for anyone who cannot spend the two months of tuning the reviews describe. And a caution rather than a no: the review volume outside G2 is thin and old, Reddit has nothing, and no MCP surface exists while the company’s own pages argue that governed data is what assistants need. Take the trial, ask for two reference calls, and put the API and MCP roadmap in the quote request.

What we could not verify: any price; any of Contify’s source, language and company counts; the G2 review bodies; the Gartner report itself; and the company’s founding date, which its own timeline omits. What we did verify is dated, sourced, and above.

10Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does Contify cost?+

Contify publishes no price. On 4 September 2026 contify.com/pricing redirected to the contact page, whose only actions are a seven-day free trial and a demo request. Capterra lists the starting price as "Contact vendor". Two third-party estimates exist and neither is a transaction record: marketintelligencetools.com puts the band at $1,000 to $2,500 a month, so $12,000 to $30,000 a year, with flat-fee options; Tomba's roundup says buyers report "low-to-mid four figures per month" and that an annual intelligence budget under roughly $10,000 makes for a short conversation. Vendr lists Contify but tracks no purchases; the only figure on its page is a $30,000 estimated redline threshold.

Is Contify worth it?+

For a market intelligence programme that watches a long list, dozens of competitors, suppliers, key accounts and regulatory portals across languages, with an analyst to configure the taxonomy, the review base says yes: 4.5 on G2 across 116 reviews with 85 percent five-star and nothing below four, 8.9 out of 10 on TrustRadius, and a Visionary placement in Gartner's inaugural Magic Quadrant. The recurring complaints are implementation time, a learning curve, tagging that needs tuning, and no mobile app. For a sales team that wants a battlecard in Salesforce this week, Klue and Kompyte are built closer to that job.

What does Contify track?+

Per its platform page on the day: more than one million vetted sources including news, company websites, SEC filings, regulatory portals, job boards, review sites, social media and trade publications; 200,000 non-English sources auto-translated from 117 or more languages; continuous coverage of over 700,000 companies and 100 or more industry segments; internal sources including SharePoint documents, Gong and Fireflies call transcripts and first-hand intel from Slack, Teams and email; and premium information sources such as GlobalData, Strategy Analytics and ABI Research integrated per its company timeline. Those are Contify's figures and we did not audit them.

What is Athena AI?+

Contify's name for the agentic layer of its platform, launched per the company timeline alongside API v4 and a Snowflake integration. The platform page describes Athena Agents that answer business-critical questions grounded on your curated intelligence datasets, AI-generated facts extracted from updates, dynamically updated battlecards, and custom fact and insight prompts you configure. Contify's Gartner post frames it against general-purpose LLMs: governed, agentic workflows with sourcing, verification and traceability. We did not test it.

Does Contify have an MCP server?+

Not on any page we read. Contify offers an API (v4 per its timeline), a Business News API product, a Snowflake integration, embeddable widgets for HubSpot and Power BI, and Slack, Teams, email and Salesforce integrations. Its pages carry Summarize With AI buttons that open the page in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Grok or Gemini, and an ai-info page written for LLMs to read. None of that is an MCP server. Klue has one in the Claude Connector Directory; Crayon and Kompyte, like Contify, show none.

How does Contify compare to Linkeddit?+

Different scope. Contify is market intelligence at enterprise breadth: a million sources, 117 languages, a taxonomy an analyst configures, managed analyst hours, quote-only pricing. Linkeddit Compete is a weekly graded brief per tracked competitor mined from review sites, Reddit and blogs, plus Answer Radar for what AI engines say about you, at $99 a month, with every capability callable over MCP. Contify does not measure AI answers; Linkeddit does not track regulatory portals, translate 117 languages or supply analysts. The closing section says when each fits.
