AI Visibility Checker

To check whether AI assistants recommend your product, ask them the question your buyers ask and read whether your brand appears and where. Enter your brand and one real buyer question below to get the unedited answer, whether you appear in it at all, and which competitors were named instead of you.

Free, no account required.

One live check at a time. Each one costs real money to run, so there is a daily cap.

Enter your brand and a real buyer question to see whether an answer engine recommends you, and who it recommends instead.

You were not mentioned. Now what?

Almost nobody fixes this by editing their homepage. Answer engines build category answers from third-party sources, so that is where the work is.

Get into the sources it already cites

Look at what the answer leaned on: listicles, review-site category pages, forum threads. Being present and accurately described in those is the highest-leverage move available, and it is mostly outreach rather than writing.

Publish the pages buyers ask for by name

Alternatives-to and versus pages exist because those are literal buyer prompts. If you have no page for the comparison a buyer asks about, the engine will use someone else's.

Remove ambiguity about what you are

If your positioning is vague, an assistant will place you in whatever category it can infer, often the wrong one. A complete llms.txt file with a preferred descriptor is a cheap fix.

Measure before and after

Run the same prompt set before you start and again a few weeks later. Without a baseline you cannot tell whether anything worked, and AEO is full of confident claims with no baseline behind them.

What one check can and cannot tell you

It can tell you

  • Whether you are in the answer at all for one specific phrasing, right now.
  • Which competitors the engine reaches for first in your category.
  • How the engine describes the category, which is often not how you describe it.

It cannot tell you

  • Your visibility overall. One prompt on one engine is a single sample of a noisy distribution.
  • Whether it is getting better or worse. That needs a baseline and repetition.
  • What other engines say. They disagree with each other routinely.

For the repeated, multi-prompt version, generate a set with the AEO Prompt Generator or see Answer Radar.

How to check your AI search visibility

Step 1

Enter your brand and the competitors you care about

The brand is what the checker looks for in the answer. Listing competitors lets it tell you which of them were recommended instead of you, and order everyone you named by where they first appear in the text.

Step 2

Ask a question a buyer would actually type

Use a full question, not a keyword. What is the best competitive intelligence tool for startups works; competitive intelligence does not, because nobody asks an assistant a bare noun phrase.

Step 3

Read the whole answer, not just the verdict

The ordering table covers only your brand and the competitors you entered, so the answer may name products you did not list. Read it in full: what the engine reaches for first, and how it frames the category, are both findings.

Step 4

Repeat with different phrasings

Answer engines vary between runs, phrasings, and regions. One check is a data point. Generate a full prompt set and run it repeatedly before you conclude anything about your visibility.

When you outgrow this tool

Answer Radar tracks a full prompt set on a schedule and shows how your share of AI recommendations moves over time.

This tool is free and complete on its own, with no account and no limits worth mentioning. Linkeddit is what you use when the job stops being a one-off and starts needing to run every week without you.

FAQ

AI Visibility Checker questions

What this measures, what it cannot measure from one run, and what to do with a result you do not like.

How do I check if ChatGPT recommends my product?

Ask it the question your buyers ask, in a logged-out session, and read whether your brand appears and where. Doing it manually works but is easy to fool yourself with, because a logged-in assistant that has seen your site will flatter you. This tool runs the question with no system prompt steering the answer.

Which answer engine does this use?

It sends your question to Google Gemini and returns the response verbatim, with no system prompt shaping it toward or away from any brand. The result names the engine so you know exactly what you are looking at. Other engines will give different answers, which is the point of the caveat shown with every result.

Why did my brand not get mentioned?

Usually because the sources the engine leans on for your category do not mention you: comparison articles, review-site listings, and forum threads rather than your own homepage. Being absent from those third-party sources is the most common cause of being absent from the answer.

Why does the same question give different answers?

Because these models are non-deterministic and their retrieved context changes over time and by region. That variance is exactly why a single manual check misleads people in both directions, and why measuring visibility means running a prompt set repeatedly rather than once.

Is the answer text real or generated for the page?

It is the real, unedited response returned by the engine for your exact question, shown in full. Nothing is summarized, rewritten, or fabricated. If the engine gives a vague answer with no products named, you see that vague answer.

Why is there a limit on checks?

Every check costs real money to run against a model, and the tool has no signup to meter it against. So there is a per-visitor limit of a few checks a minute and about a dozen a day, plus an overall daily cap. Repeat questions are cached for a day, so sharing a result link costs nothing.

How do I actually improve my AI visibility?

Get represented in the sources the engine already cites, make your own site unambiguous with a complete llms.txt file, and publish the comparison and alternative pages buyers ask for by name. Then re-run the prompt set to see whether any of it moved, because assuming it did is how AEO budgets get wasted.
