How to Create Your First Campaign in the Reddit CMS

A campaign in the Linkeddit CMS is the central organizing unit for all your Reddit content work. It holds your product context, audience information, brand voice, subreddit targets, and every piece of content you create. Setting up a campaign well up front makes every subsequent AI generation more accurate and on-brand.

What is a campaign

A campaign represents a coordinated Reddit content effort tied to a specific product, goal, or time period. All content pieces, subreddit targets, and research reports belong to a campaign, making it easy to keep work organized and contextualized.

You might create one campaign per product line, one per quarter, or one per target audience segment. There is no single right approach. The key is that each campaign should have a clear goal and a defined set of subreddits where you plan to be active.

Creating a new campaign

Click the New Campaign button from the CMS dashboard. The campaign creation form has several fields. The required ones are Name, Product Overview, and Goal Overview. The optional fields are Audience, Brand Voice, Competitor Landscape, Key Messages, and Avoid Topics.

The Product Overview should explain what your product does and who it is for in two to four sentences. The Goal Overview should describe what you are trying to achieve with this Reddit campaign, for example, driving sign-ups, building brand awareness, or positioning against a competitor. These fields are injected into every AI content generation prompt, so invest time making them accurate.

The Audience field helps the AI calibrate tone and assumed knowledge level. Brand Voice lets you specify whether content should be casual, technical, direct, or conversational. Competitor Landscape is useful if you want AI-generated content to acknowledge alternatives honestly. Key Messages lists the points you always want to reinforce. Avoid Topics prevents the AI from touching subjects that are off-limits for compliance or brand reasons.

Setting campaign targets

After creating your campaign, navigate to the Targets tab to add subreddits. Each subreddit target includes the subreddit name, optional posting guidelines, and a toggle to mark it as an owned subreddit (one where your team has an established presence).

Subreddit targets guide AI content generation by giving the system community-specific context. When generating content for a specific subreddit, the AI can take subreddit rules and tone expectations into account if you have filled in the guidelines field.

Adding first content pieces

With a campaign and at least one subreddit target in place, you are ready to add content. From the Board tab, click the Generate with AI button to open the content generation modal, or click New Idea to create a blank content card manually.

AI-generated content will appear in the Draft column immediately after generation completes. From there you can open the full editor, review the copy, make edits, and move it through the kanban stages toward publishing.

FAQ

Can I edit a campaign after creating it?

Yes. All campaign fields can be edited at any time from the campaign settings panel. Changes to fields like Product Overview and Brand Voice will affect future AI generations but will not retroactively change existing content.

What are the required fields when creating a campaign?

The three required fields are Name, Product Overview, and Goal Overview. All other fields are optional but recommended for better AI output quality.
