SE Ranking AI Visibility Tracker Review (2026): Two Products, Five Engines, and Who It Fits

SE Ranking is the SEO suite that gives away the most AI visibility per dollar, and the one whose product line is hardest to read from the outside: an in-suite AI Results Tracker, an AI Search add-on, and a standalone product called SE Visible, all from the same company and all priced differently. Most reviews of it are by competitors and were written before the current pricing. This one reads SE Ranking's pricing page, its tracker page, its Knowledge Base, its MCP page and SE Visible's own site as they rendered on the day, and reads what practitioners say on G2 and Reddit.

Key takeaways

  • Verified 4 September 2026: SE Ranking Core at $129 a month or $103.20 annual includes 100 prompts tracked daily on five engines, 5 domains of AI competitor research, 25,000 API credits and MCP access; Growth at $279 or $223.20 includes 250 prompts. The AI Search add-on is $89 or $71.20 annual for 200 prompts and unlocks SE Visible. SE Visible standalone is $99 or $79 annual for 200 prompts and 3 projects, $189 or $151 for 450, $355 or $284 for 1,000.
  • Five engines everywhere: Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini. No Claude; SE Visible's FAQ says it is coming. Answers are collected through a browser interface, not model APIs, and refreshed daily.
  • Two units of measure. SE Visible counts prompts and checks all of them on all five engines daily, so 200 prompts is about 30,000 checks a month. The SE Ranking Knowledge Base counts checks for the add-on, one prompt on one engine each. We could not reconcile the two on the day.
  • The MCP is the best in the category we have reviewed: 180 or more tools including AI search visibility, hosted, included in every plan on API credits, with open-source Claude Skills. It is the one vendor here whose AI visibility data is already callable from Claude and Cursor.
  • G2 rates SE Ranking 4.7 on 1,602 reviews as a suite; the AI-related dislikes read as one templated request for more segmentation by market, product and engine. Reddit calls it the widest surface area per dollar and the easiest on the wallet for multiple brands, and warns that the engine multiplier eats allowances.
  • The company is SER Acquisition Inc. in the footer, bought Planable in August 2025, and calls itself multi-product. SE Visible's roadmap features, query fan-out, local visibility and sentiment tracking, are still labelled coming soon on its own site.
  • It measures, shows cited sources by category, and gives steps. It does not draft the fix against the cited evidence or re-measure to show the fix moved.

01What SE Ranking's AI visibility tracker is: one tracker sold three ways

SE Ranking’s AI visibility tracking is one measurement layer packaged three ways, and the packaging is where every competing review goes wrong. The Knowledge Base article on the AI Search add-on, read on 4 September 2026, draws the line itself.

Inside the suite. Every SE Ranking plan includes the AI Search Toolkit: an AI Results Tracker that runs your prompts daily across Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini and records linked and unlinked brand mentions and positions; AI Competitor Research that measures any domain’s presence across those engines; and AI Source and Coverage Analysis that maps cited domains and URLs by category across seven markets and five languages. The pricing page prints 100 prompts a day on Core and 250 on Growth, with five LLMs to track and unlimited AI sources tracking.

The AI Search add-on. For teams that outgrow the included limits, an add-on at $89 a month adds prompt packages of 200, 450 or 1,000, unlimited brands in AI competitor research, and access to SE Visible. The Knowledge Base says it is for “operational workflows” and that the two products “serve different use cases and can be used together”.

SE Visible. A standalone product on its own subdomain for “marketing leaders and agencies who need a strategic overview”: visibility trends, sentiment, competitors, top cited sources, prompts grouped by topic, unlimited users, CSV export, its own API, sold from $99 a month without an SE Ranking subscription. It runs on a separate analysis system, which is why add-on buyers register again and set brands up by hand.

One more fact for the record. The footer on every page reads “SER Acquisition Inc.”, SE Ranking acquired Planable, a social media management platform, in August 2025 and describes itself as a multi-product company, and the SE Ranking and Planable MCPs are pitched together as an AI visibility to social distribution pipeline. Whatever you buy here, you are buying from a company that reorganised around AI search a year ago.

Two things the table hides. Core’s single manager seat means a team of three is $129 plus two seats before the add-on, and the pricing FAQ says only one active session per login is allowed. And the MCP is included but metered: every query spends the plan’s API credits, 25,000 a month on Core, so heavy agent use on the cheapest plan will hit the credit ceiling before it hits the prompt ceiling.

03Prompts and checks, priced out

Here is the arithmetic, and the one thing we could not settle. SE Visible’s FAQ is explicit: “Your prompt limit is based on the number of added prompts, not the total number of daily checks across AI platforms”, so 200 prompts on five engines is 200 prompts, about 30,000 checks a month. The SE Ranking Knowledge Base is equally explicit about the add-on: “1 check = 1 prompt + 1 AI platform”, so one prompt on five engines is five checks, and when the monthly checks run out you cannot add a prompt until they renew. The main pricing page prints “100 prompts to track daily” for Core without saying which unit applies. A rank-tracking comparison in r/SEO_Experts made the same complaint about SE Ranking’s keywords: “the engine/location multiplier eats allowance faster than people expect”. Ask before you assume.

On prompts per dollar SE Visible Basic is the cheapest five-engine tracking in this series: $0.40 a prompt a month on annual billing against Semrush at $3.96 for 25 prompts on three daily engines, HubSpot at $2 for 25 on three, Peec at $1.60 for 50 on three, and Ahrefs at $0.02 a check. What it does not have is a cross-brand index like Semrush’s or Ahrefs’; you see any domain’s presence only for prompts you or the competitor research tool run.

04What SE Ranking's AI visibility tracker does well

Five engines at every price. Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, which Semrush tracks and HubSpot does not, plus ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, on the $129 plan and on the $99 standalone. Among the suites, only Ahrefs lists more.

Browser-collected answers, daily. The tracker page’s FAQ says results come from “direct UI-based monitoring” that “captures the responses as a real user would see them”, and SE Visible says the same, “not simulated answers or API-based results”. It stores cached answer copies. Whether browser collection is more representative than API collection is arguable; that SE Ranking says which it does is not, and most vendors do not.

Sources by category. The AI Source and Coverage Analysis maps every cited domain and URL, categorises them as media, blogs or forums, weights which carry the most in answers, and does it across seven markets and five languages. The r/DigitalMarketing tester’s summary of SE Visible was “strong data integration” that “connects AI visibility tracking with traditional SEO metrics”.

The MCP. Covered in full below, but it belongs here too: a hosted server with 180 or more tools, AI search visibility included, on every plan, with published Claude Skills. A senior SEO product manager quoted on the pricing page says it cut research from days to hours; a well-known agency founder says the AI Search toolkit and MCP “changed how I work rather than just adding yet another tool to the pile”. Those are vendor-selected testimonials; the r/ClaudeAI practitioner who listed SE Ranking’s Claude SEO Skills in their working stack was not selected by anyone.

Unlimited users on SE Visible. No seat pricing, share access without permission restrictions, 3 to 10 projects by tier. For an agency reporting to clients that is the opposite of Semrush’s per-licence model.

Cheapest on the wallet for many brands. An agency owner in r/SEO_tools_reviews comparing Semrush One and SE Ranking for five brands: “SE Ranking has been the easiest on the wallet for managing multiple brands.” The same comment adds the caveat every honest tracker user adds: “I still find myself doing a lot of manual prompt checks since none of the tools fully nail AI visibility yet.”

A free checker with competitors. The tracker page runs five free checks a day for your domain against up to five competitors across the five engines, with brand mentions and linked mentions as counts and percentages, downloadable as CSV. It is the most useful free check in this series because it includes the competitor column.

05Where SE Ranking's AI visibility tracker falls short

No Claude. Five engines and not the one business buyers increasingly ask. SE Visible’s FAQ says “Claude will be added soon”, and it said something similar about Perplexity and Gemini a year ago when it tracked two engines, so the roadmap does ship; it is still a roadmap.

Three products, one measurement, separate setups. Add-on buyers register for SE Visible separately and recreate their brands because it “uses a separate analysis system”. Trakkr’s implementation notes make the same point. Agency Pack white label applies to SE Ranking and not yet to SE Visible. A buyer who wants one place to look has to pick which of the three that is.

The unit question. Prompts on SE Visible, checks in the Knowledge Base, prompts a day on the pricing page. If a Core customer assumes 100 prompts on five engines and gets 20, that is the most expensive misunderstanding on this page. We could not resolve it from the vendor’s own pages.

Coming soon, in its own words. SE Visible’s navigation lists query fan-out analysis, local AI visibility and AI brand sentiment tracking, each tagged “coming soon”, and a further block of advanced analytics, reporting, flexible brand settings and user management under the same label. The product page also says it tracks sentiment today. Read the tier you are buying, not the navigation.

Analyse and decide. The r/DigitalMarketing tester: “Execution-wise, it’s still mostly analyze and decide. It gives you context, but the strategy design and publishing process remain manual.” The Knowledge Base agrees, listing “additional actionable insights and recommendations” as planned rather than shipped.

Segmentation, per G2. Every AI-related dislike we read on G2 asks for the same thing: group prompts by audience, product category, intent, market and engine, and compare engines when the same prompt produces different answers. Six reviews, nearly the same sentence. Either it is the real gap or the review program prompts for it; both are worth knowing.

It shows cited pages; it does not draft against them. The Sources report names the page and its category and the tracker offers “specific steps to improve your AI rankings”. It does not build the change from what the cited pages actually said, reject claims the evidence does not support, or re-run the prompt to report whether the change moved it.

Visible (by SE Ranking): more of a comprehensive monitoring layer. It connects AI visibility tracking with traditional SEO metrics. The upside is strong data integration. Execution-wise, it's still mostly analyze and decide.

06What G2 and Reddit say about SE Ranking's AI tracking

SE Ranking is rated as a suite: 4.7 out of 5 on 1,602 G2 reviews as fetched on 4 September 2026, 88 percent five-star and 10 percent four-star, with no one- or two-star reviews at all. Filtering to reviews that mention AI returns 89. The dislikes are strikingly uniform: “more flexibility around grouping prompts by audience, industry, and campaign theme”; “more context around individual links, particularly the page being referenced and the topic that triggered the citation”; “more advanced ways to organize large prompt sets, particularly by product category, customer intent, and market”; “more historical comparison”. Read them as one request for segmentation and engine-by-engine comparison, and read the uniformity as a sign that many of these reviews were collected through a program. Neither point makes the score wrong; both make it a suite score.

Reddit is thinner on SE Ranking’s AI tracking than on Semrush’s or HubSpot’s, which is itself information: SE Ranking sits below the argument. What exists:

Value for many brands. The r/SEO_tools_reviews agency owner quoted above, choosing SE Ranking over Semrush One on cost for five brands. A February 2026 price list in r/aeo, compiled with annual discounts and excluding vendors without public pricing, puts SE Visible at $79 to $284, cheaper than Semrush at $165 to $455 and Ahrefs at $108 to $374.

Widest surface per dollar, with a warning. The r/SEO_Experts rank tracker comparison: SE Ranking is “widest surface area per dollar, and the API is usable enough to pull rank data into your own pipelines”, and “the engine/location multiplier eats allowance faster than people expect”. It also notes SE Visible is “sold separately”.

Monitoring, not execution. The r/DigitalMarketing tester quoted above.

Nobody answered. A June 2026 thread in r/aeo with 163 comments asked “if anyone has used Athena or SE Visible and whether they’re worth it at that price point”. None of the top replies answered about SE Visible. SE Ranking ran its own AMA in r/SEO_for_AI in May 2026; the questions were about SEO strategy, not the tracker. Practitioners are not yet arguing about SE Ranking’s AI product the way they argue about Semrush’s.

The MCP is the thing people bring up unprompted. A practitioner in r/ClaudeAI listing the Claude Skills that form their working stack put SE Ranking’s open-source SEO Skills first among vendor libraries; a marketer in r/AISearchLab described wiring the SE Ranking MCP to the Planable MCP so AI visibility gaps become social posts. Both are SE Ranking customers; neither is a vendor testimonial.

SE Ranking: widest surface area per dollar, and the API is usable enough to pull rank data into your own pipelines rather than living in someone's dashboard. Honest point: the engine/location multiplier eats allowance faster than people expect.

07The accuracy question

SE Ranking is more specific than most about how it collects: browser-based monitoring that captures what a user sees, refreshed daily, cached copies kept, across seven countries and five languages. It is less specific about sampling. Neither the tracker page nor the SE Visible FAQ says how many times a prompt is run per day or how volatile the same prompt is between runs, and the free checker returns one reading. SE Visible’s “approximately 30,000 checks per month” for 200 prompts on five engines implies one run per prompt per engine per day. That is a daily sample of one, which is what every tracker in this series offers at its entry tier, and it is the number to hold in mind when a visibility score moves.

The tracker page’s own FAQ answers the “what is a good score” question honestly: “There’s no benchmark yet as AI search is too new for the industry. What matters more than hitting a specific number is understanding your score in context.” Compare against your competitors on your prompts, and if they are mentioned where you are not, that is the gap. That is the right advice and it is the same advice we give about our own numbers.

One structural point. SE Ranking counts linked and unlinked mentions separately and shows both, which matters because the two behave differently: an unlinked mention is brand awareness, a linked one is the only kind that can send a visit. Several trackers blend them into one score.

08API and MCP, checked against the pages

This is where SE Ranking leads the category. The MCP page read on 4 September 2026 describes a hosted server, one URL, no installation, with “180+ SEO and GEO tools” including “AI search visibility”, working with Claude Web, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Codex, Zed and Gemini CLI, and listed in the ChatGPT connector directory. It is included in every subscription and runs on the plan’s API credits, 25,000 a month on Core and 100,000 on Growth, with the trial carrying 100,000 credits. It can also be bought without a subscription on a pay-as-you-go API plan from $179 a month. The page’s example prompt for AI search is a competitor visibility leaderboard and heatmap across ChatGPT and Gemini with 20 prompts per brand.

SE Ranking also publishes open-source Claude Skills that turn MCP data into deliverables: a content brief generator, an AI search share-of-voice heatmap and a technical audit ranked by impact and effort, with SEO, marketing and content skill libraries linked from the site navigation. SE Visible has its own API that, per its FAQ, does everything the interface does except manage users and subscriptions, including prompt results, mentions, sentiment, visibility score, share of voice, average position and cited domains. That Marketing Buddy’s claim that the SE Visible plan has no API or MCP is contradicted by the vendor page; we did not test either endpoint.

For comparison, every Linkeddit capability, including the fix draft and the re-measurement, is an MCP tool over one URL on the $99 plan and is not metered separately; the connector page lists them. SE Ranking is the only vendor in this series we would describe as having taken MCP as seriously as we have. Its data over MCP is measurement; ours is measurement plus the actions.

09What SE Ranking measures, and what no tracker can

SE Ranking measures your own prompts, and any competitor domain’s presence for prompts its research tool runs, on five engines daily, like every dedicated tracker. Its score is comparable with itself over time and with no other vendor’s. It has no clickstream-derived index like Semrush’s or Ahrefs’, so it cannot show a brand’s visibility across the market without a prompt set, and it does not estimate prompt demand. What it adds that they do not is the rank tracker next door: the same account holds Google, Bing and Baidu positions for the keywords behind your prompts.

Three things no tracker can see. How many people asked: SE Ranking does not estimate; the tracker page’s ROI FAQ suggests correlating AI mentions with branded search traffic instead, which is honest. Whether an answer sent a visit: linked mentions are the floor, and SE Ranking shows them separately. Why the engine chose a source: the Sources report names the page and its category; the reason is a hypothesis. We have written up the same limits for our own product in AI citation tracking.

One test we run on every vendor we review: is the vendor’s own domain in the answers about its own category? Across 220 completed answers in our Answer Radar runs, which include prompts about AI visibility tools, seranking.com was cited once, by Perplexity. HubSpot, whose roundups get cited 18 times in the same runs, is the outlier; SE Ranking, Semrush, Ahrefs and the dedicated trackers all sit at zero to three. The citation layer rewards roundups about tools, not tools.

We sell a product in this category, so read this as a vendor’s comparison and check both pricing pages. The short version: SE Ranking gives you rank tracking, five-engine AI tracking and the most complete MCP in the category for $129, or five-engine tracking alone from $79 on SE Visible, without Claude. Answer Radar is your prompts on four engines including Claude at a fixed $99, with MCP on every tool, and it finishes the job the Sources report hands back to you, with weekly competitor intelligence included.

Pick SE Ranking if you want rank tracking and AI tracking in one account and one MCP, if Google AI Overviews and AI Mode are where your buyers see AI answers, if you run several client brands and want unlimited users on SE Visible, or if you want to pull AI visibility data into Claude or Cursor today from a suite.

Pick Answer Radar if you want your own buyers’ prompts on four engines including Claude now at a fixed $99, MCP that carries the actions as well as the data without a credit meter, the measurement to end in a drafted fix built from what the engines actually read and a re-measurement that says whether it moved, and weekly competitor intelligence on the same bill. Our AI visibility tools guide covers the wider field.

11Verdict: is SE Ranking's AI visibility tracker worth it?

Yes, and more clearly than for the other suites. For an SE Ranking customer the AI tracker is already in the plan, on five engines, with the MCP to pull it wherever you work. For an agency pricing five-engine tracking for several brands, SE Visible at $79 a month annual for 200 prompts and unlimited users is the cheapest five-engine tracking we have priced. For anyone who wants AI visibility data inside Claude or Cursor from a suite, SE Ranking is the only suite that has shipped it.

Be careful on three points. Claude is not tracked yet. The prompt-versus-check unit is unresolved on the vendor’s own pages and it can be a factor of five. And SE Visible’s own navigation labels its most interesting features coming soon, so buy the tier as printed, not the roadmap. If your job is changing pages in response to what the engines read, the product stops at analyse and decide, and dedicated tools take it further, including ours.

What we could not verify: whether Core’s 100 prompts are prompts or checks, the sampling behind the daily reading, whether the G2 dislikes reflect a review program, and the SE Visible API in practice. We have said so where each comes up.

12Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does SE Ranking's AI visibility tracking cost?+

Three ways in, as read off seranking.com and visible.seranking.com on 4 September 2026. Inside the SEO suite: Core at $129 a month or $103.20 annual includes 100 prompts tracked daily across five engines, and Growth at $279 or $223.20 includes 250. As an add-on to those plans: AI Search at $89 a month or $71.20 annual for a 200-prompt package, with 450 and 1,000 prompt packages above it, which also unlocks SE Visible. Standalone: SE Visible Basic from $99 a month or $79 annual for 200 prompts and 3 projects, Core $189 or $151 for 450 prompts, Plus $355 or $284 for 1,000 prompts and 10 projects. SE Ranking has a 14-day trial with 20 prompts a day; SE Visible has a 10-day trial.

Is SE Ranking's AI visibility tracker worth it?+

If you already run SE Ranking, yes: Core's 100 daily prompts on five engines, the Sources report and the MCP server with AI visibility data are included in the $129 you pay for rank tracking, and no other suite includes that much at that price. If you are buying AI visibility on its own, SE Visible at $79 to $99 for 200 prompts on five engines is competitive on prompts per dollar, with two cautions: no Claude yet, and the roadmap features, query fan-out, local visibility and sentiment, are still labelled coming soon on its own site. Treat the G2 score as a suite score, not a tracker score.

Which AI engines does SE Ranking track?+

Five, per the AI visibility tracker page, the Knowledge Base and the SE Visible site: Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. The SE Visible FAQ says Claude will be added soon. SE Ranking says it collects answers through a browser and graphical interface, the way a user sees them, rather than through model APIs.

How do SE Ranking's prompt limits work?+

It depends which product. SE Visible counts prompts: its FAQ says 200 prompts tracked across five engines are all checked daily, roughly 30,000 checks a month, and the limit is the number of prompts added. The SE Ranking Knowledge Base counts checks for the AI Search add-on: one check is one prompt on one engine, so one prompt on all five engines is five checks. The main pricing page prints prompts per day for the Core and Growth plans. We could not reconcile the two units on the pages we read on 4 September 2026, so ask before you assume 100 prompts means 100 prompts on five engines.

Does SE Ranking have an MCP server with AI visibility data?+

Yes, and it is the most complete MCP in the category we have reviewed. The MCP page read on 4 September 2026 lists 180 or more tools including AI search visibility, hosted by SE Ranking with one URL, included in every subscription on the plan's API credits, working with Claude Web, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Codex, Zed and Gemini CLI, plus a connector in the ChatGPT directory. It also ships open-source Claude Skills for content briefs, an AI search share-of-voice heatmap and a technical audit. SE Visible has its own API, per its FAQ; an affiliate review says the standalone plan has no API or MCP, and the vendor page contradicts it.

What is the difference between SE Ranking's AI Results Tracker and SE Visible?+

The Knowledge Base draws the line: the AI Results Tracker and AI Search add-on live inside SE Ranking and support operational work, prompt monitoring, source analysis, visibility tracking and competitive research next to your rankings. SE Visible is a standalone product for marketing leaders and agencies who want a strategic view across brands, with unlimited users, seven countries and five languages. Buying the add-on unlocks SE Visible at no extra charge, but you register separately and set up brands again, because it runs on a separate analysis system.

What is the best alternative to SE Ranking for AI visibility?+

For the suite-plus-AI pattern at a different price point, Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit at $99 a domain or Ahrefs Brand Radar from $50 for prompt packages. For a dedicated tracker, Peec AI at $80 annual on three models or Otterly from $29. For your own prompts on four engines including Claude today at a fixed $99, every tool callable over MCP, and the fix drafted from the recorded citations and re-measured, with weekly competitor intelligence on the same bill, Linkeddit Answer Radar. Nothing else gives you rank tracking, five-engine AI tracking and an MCP with both in one $129 plan; if that is the shape you want, SE Ranking is the one to price.
