Profound Pricing (2026): What $99 and $399 Actually Buy, and Everything That Is Enterprise Only

Profound prints two self-serve prices and a custom tier, and the interesting information is in the comparison table underneath them: which of nine engines you get at each price, what the agent credits are, and how many things move to Enterprise. This page reads that table on the day and does the arithmetic. We sell a competing product, so the last section is a vendor talking and says so; the rest is Profound's own page.

Key takeaways

  • Read 4 September 2026 on tryprofound.com/pricing: Starter $99/month billed yearly, ChatGPT only, 50 prompts, 1,500 responses a month, 100 Agents credits, 1 seat, no exports, no API. Growth $399/month billed yearly, ChatGPT plus Perplexity plus Google AI Overviews, 100 prompts, 9,000 responses, 400 credits, 3 seats, CSV and JSON exports. Enterprise custom.
  • Six of nine engines are Enterprise only: Claude, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek. So are API access, SSO, ChatGPT Shopping, Prompt Volumes searches, multiple companies, more than one language or region, and dedicated Slack support.
  • Per prompt: $1.98 a month on Starter for one engine, $3.99 on Growth for three ($1.33 per engine). Per response: about $0.066 on Starter, $0.044 on Growth.
  • Both prices are billed yearly, framed as two months free. No monthly price is printed. The annual commitment is about $1,188 for Starter and $4,788 for Growth.
  • Profound's own FAQ: teams of more than three people are better suited to Enterprise. Growth's seat cap is three.
  • Reddit on the price, attributed: 'profound is way too expensive' in r/aeo; 'enterprise or a company where AI visibility is already a KPI' in r/DigitalMarketing.
  • Same money elsewhere on the day: Peec $80 annual for 50 prompts on three models; Otterly $29 for 15 prompts on four engines; Linkeddit $99 for four engines including Claude. Full table below, and we are in it.

01The short answer

Profound costs $99 a month billed yearly for ChatGPT tracking on 50 prompts, $399 a month billed yearly for three engines on 100 prompts, and a custom Enterprise price for everything else, including Claude. If you want Profound for what its reviewers praise, prompt volume data, citation depth, agents and up to nine engines, budget from $399 and expect an Enterprise conversation for Claude, the API and SSO. The $99 tier is a single-engine look at the platform, and Profound’s own FAQ says so in its way: more than three people on the team means Enterprise.

02The plans, read off the page

tryprofound.com/pricing timed out for an ordinary fetcher on 4 September 2026, so we read it through a proxy as plain text. The page has a brands tab and an agencies tab; these are the brand prices. Both self-serve tiers are labelled “Billed yearly, 2 months free”.

03What each tier includes, line by line

Profound’s comparison table is more informative than its plan cards. Here it is, transcribed from the page on the day, grouped the way Profound groups it.

Two lines deserve a second look. The 1,500 and 9,000 response figures are Profound’s own arithmetic for prompts times engines times days, and they are the honest unit for comparing it with credit-metered tools. And Prompt Volumes, the feature reviewers most often name as the reason to pay for Profound, is “relevant keywords” on Growth and “searches” only on Enterprise; Starter gets neither.

04Everything that is Enterprise only

The list is long enough to be the point of the page. At any printed price, the following require a custom Enterprise package:

  • Six of the nine engines: Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek.
  • API access.
  • SSO and SAML, plus the SOC 2 documentation the Enterprise card lists.
  • ChatGPT Shopping visibility.
  • Prompt Volumes searches, the real-user prompt demand data.
  • Multiple companies tracked, and more than one language or region.
  • Agents credits above 400 a month, and any overage or pause configuration.
  • Projects powered by Aim.
  • Dedicated Slack support and a dedicated specialist with a 24-hour SLA.
  • Per Profound’s FAQ, any team with more than three people.

05The per-prompt and per-response math

Entry price is the wrong unit for this category, because vendors sell prompts, checks, credits and engines in different combinations. Here is Profound in the units that transfer, using only the page’s own numbers.

UnitStarterGrowthNote
Per prompt per month$1.98$3.9950 and 100 prompts
Per prompt per engine per month$1.98$1.33One engine vs three
Per analysed responseAbout $0.066About $0.0441,500 and 9,000 responses a month, per the page
Per Agents credit, if you value only the credits$0.99$1.00100 and 400 credits; a rough ceiling, since the plan buys more than credits
Annual commitmentAbout $1,188About $4,788Billed yearly, two months free

The oddity our review flagged still holds: doubling the prompt allowance quadruples the price, because Growth is not a bigger Starter but a different bundle with two more engines, four times the credits, exports and two more seats. Read Growth as the real entry tier for the product reviewers describe, and Starter as a ChatGPT-only sample. The site-wide cost-per-prompt comparison puts these figures next to every other vendor’s.

06Agents credits, in Profound's own words

Profound Agents are its automation workers for content generation, optimisation and other AEO tasks, and they are priced on credits. From the pricing FAQ on the day: Starter includes 100 credits a month, Growth 400, and the self-serve Agency Growth plan 400 per client workspace; additional credit thresholds require an Enterprise package. Each Agent run consumes credits relative to its complexity, simpler agents using fewer. Before a run the platform shows an estimated credit cost, after it the actual credits consumed, and an admin panel shows total usage. Accounts can be configured to bill overage or to pause when the allotment is reached. What the page does not print is a price per credit or what a typical agent run costs, so the 100 and 400 are numbers without a denominator until you have run one.

07Billing, seats and the monthly question

Both self-serve prices carry the label “Billed yearly, 2 months free”, which is how a vendor says the printed monthly figure is an annual contract divided by twelve. The page does not print a monthly-billed price and does not say whether one exists, so the practical minimum spend is about $1,188 for Starter and $4,788 for Growth. Seats are one on Starter and three on Growth, with no additional-seat price printed; the FAQ steers teams above three people to Enterprise. Growth has a “Try for free” button and Starter a “Get Started” button; the trial terms are not printed on the pricing page.

08What buyers say about the price, attributed

Reddit is blunter than G2. In r/aeo the one-line verdict was “profound is way too expensive”. In r/DigitalMarketing a tester who ran several tools called Profound “the most serious platform I tested” and, asked who should buy it, said “enterprise or a company where AI visibility is already a KPI”. On G2, where Profound holds 4.5 out of 5 across 1,128 reviews, price, learning curve and reporting limits each account for three of ten complaints on the first page of reviews we read for the full review, and the ChatGPT-only Starter is the specific price complaint that recurs.

Profound in particular gives you the most sophisticated visibility intelligence in the market and then nothing happens, someone still has to go figure out the execution layer separately.

Four engines including Claude, a flat $99, the fix drafted and re-measured

Answer Radar asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude your buyers’ questions, stores every cited page and every fan-out search, ranks the gaps by evidence, drafts the fix from what the engines actually read, and re-measures. No prompt volume data, no agents, and far fewer reviews than Profound; this page says so.

10Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does Profound cost?+

As printed on tryprofound.com/pricing on 4 September 2026: Starter is $99 a month billed yearly, described as two months free, for ChatGPT tracking only, 50 prompts, 100 Agents credits a month, one seat and email support. Growth is $399 a month billed yearly for three answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews), 100 prompts, 400 Agents credits, three seats, CSV and JSON exports, and email support. Enterprise is custom, with up to nine answer engines, multiple companies tracked, a tailored prompt plan, dedicated Slack support, SSO and SOC 2. Monthly-billed prices are not printed.

Does Profound have a monthly plan?+

Not one it prints. Both self-serve tiers are labelled billed yearly with two months free, which means the $99 and $399 figures are the monthly equivalent of an annual commitment of about $1,188 and $4,788. The page does not show what monthly billing costs or whether it is offered. Ask before assuming you can try it for one month at $99.

Which engines does Profound track at each price?+

Starter tracks ChatGPT only. Growth tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Enterprise lists capability for nine: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Anthropic Claude and Google AI Overviews. So Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and AI Mode are Enterprise only at any printed price.

What is Enterprise only on Profound?+

From the comparison table on the day: six of the nine engines (Claude, Gemini, AI Mode, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek), ChatGPT Shopping visibility, API access, SSO, Prompt Volumes searches (Growth gets relevant keywords only), multiple companies tracked, more than one language or region, custom Agents credits, Projects powered by Aim, dedicated Slack support and a dedicated specialist with a 24-hour SLA. Profound's own FAQ adds that teams of more than three people are better suited to Enterprise.

What do Profound Agents credits cost and what are they?+

Credits are the unit for running Profound Agents, its content and AEO automation workers. Starter includes 100 a month, Growth 400, and the Agency Growth plan 400 per client workspace; anything above that is an Enterprise package. Each Agent run consumes credits relative to its complexity, the platform shows an estimated cost before a run, and accounts can be set to bill overage or pause at the allotment. The page does not print a per-credit price.

What does Profound cost per prompt?+

Starter is $1.98 per prompt per month on one engine, or about $0.066 per analysed response given the page's 1,500 responses a month. Growth is $3.99 per prompt per month across three engines, $1.33 per prompt per engine, or about $0.044 per response given 9,000 responses a month. Doubling the prompt allowance quadruples the price because Growth also adds two engines, four times the agent credits, exports and two seats.
