HubSpot AEO vs Profound vs Scrunch (2026): $50, $99 and $250 Buy Three Different Things

A CRM company that reset the category's floor price, the AEO specialist with the most reviews, and a platform that was independent until June. Their entry prices are $50, $99 and $250, and the numbers describe three different products rather than three prices for one. This comparison reads all three vendors' pages on the day, their review listings and the Reddit threads about them, and adds what four AI engines actually said about each on our own prompts.

Key takeaways

  • Verified 4 September 2026: HubSpot AEO $50 a month or $45 annual, 25 prompts, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, per brand, Beta. Profound Starter $99 billed yearly, 50 prompts, ChatGPT only, 100 agent credits; Growth $399, 100 prompts, three engines; Enterprise custom, up to nine. Scrunch Core $250, four LLMs; Enterprise custom, nine LLMs, SSO, custom MCP.
  • Two of three are modules now. HubSpot AEO is built on XFunnel, acquired late October 2025 and launched 14 April 2026. Scrunch was acquired by Sitecore on 3 June 2026 for about $225 million per Bloomberg. Profound is the independent.
  • Per prompt per engine, HubSpot is cheapest at about $0.67, Scrunch is a flat $250 for four LLMs, and Profound's Starter is $1.98 per prompt on one engine, rising to three engines only at $399.
  • None lists Claude below Enterprise. HubSpot has no path to more engines; Profound and Scrunch reach nine on custom tiers.
  • Reviews: Profound 4.5 on 1,128 G2, the category's deepest base; Scrunch 4.6 on 73 'by Sitecore'; HubSpot AEO rated only inside Marketing Hub's 4.4 on 14,971. HubSpot's own users in r/hubspot call the prompt suggestions AI slop and the cap the real constraint.
  • MCP: Scrunch on Enterprise only, HubSpot's server carries CRM data not AEO, Profound's pages showed none. No $50 to $250 buyer gets AI visibility data in Claude or Cursor from these three.
  • Measured on our prompts, Profound was named on Claude at 3.8 percent share; HubSpot and Scrunch were not in any engine's top five as AI visibility tools. hubspot.com was the most-cited vendor domain in our 220 answers, for CRM pages and roundups, not AEO.

01The short answer

Buy HubSpot AEO if you run marketing in HubSpot and want the cheapest honest first read on three engines; it is the door to Marketing Hub, priced accordingly. Buy Profound if you want the specialist with the deepest review base and the biggest prompt and agent feature set, and you can afford the $399 tier where multi-engine coverage actually starts. Buy Scrunch if you want four LLMs at a flat price and you are comfortable that the vendor is now a Sitecore product, which is a plus for a Sitecore customer and a question for everyone else.

None of the three covers Claude at entry, none exposes AI visibility over MCP below Enterprise, and none drafts the fix against the evidence it recorded. Those are the three gaps this comparison keeps coming back to.

02Pricing on the day

All three vendors’ pricing pages were read on 4 September 2026. HubSpot’s through the free fetcher, Profound’s for its review, and Scrunch’s as full text after a content extractor had earlier dropped its price nodes, a correction recorded on our editorial policy page.

03Who owns each, and why it matters

HubSpot AEO exists because HubSpot acquired XFunnel, an AEO startup, at the end of October 2025, per a HubSpot partner’s roundup that December, and launched the product at its Spring Spotlight on 14 April 2026. Its page prints the history as a single line and every page carries a Beta badge. The price is explained by the owner: a vendor selling against it wrote this August that “HubSpot is not in the AI visibility business. It is in the Marketing Hub business, and AEO is a reason not to leave.” The CRM-powered prompt suggestions and in-app publishing that make it different are gated to Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise.

Scrunch was independent until 3 June 2026, when Sitecore acquired it for about $225 million according to Bloomberg. Its G2 listing now reads “Scrunch by Sitecore”. For a Sitecore customer that is a reason to buy; for anyone else it raises the roadmap question every acquired tool raises, and the custom-MCP-on-Enterprise-only stance reads like an enterprise platform’s, because it now is one.

Profound is the independent. Its pricing page prints three tiers and its G2 listing is the largest in the category by a wide margin. Its Starter is deliberately narrow, ChatGPT only, which is the single most common complaint in its reviews and the reason its effective entry price for multi-engine tracking is $399.

04Prompts and engines, priced out

Five brands$250, five instancesEnterpriseNot printed

HubSpot is the cheapest at every programme size on paper, and the honest caveat is that the price of prompts beyond 25 is not printed anywhere we could read. Profound’s Starter looks like a $99 tracker and is a $99 ChatGPT tracker; the product most buyers imagine is the $399 one. Scrunch’s flat $250 is simplest to budget and the hardest to size, because its pages do not print a prompt allowance.

05What each does, from its own pages

HubSpot AEO: a brand visibility score and trend across three engines, competitor share of voice, prompt tracking with the exact response returned and filters by buyer’s journey stage, citation analysis by domain, page, source type and content type, sentiment from minus 100 to plus 100, and prioritised recommendations to create a page, update one, publish a LinkedIn post or reach out to a site. On Marketing Hub, recommendations open the content tool and one click generates a blog draft in your brand voice. A free AI Search Grader gives a one-time score on the same three engines.

Profound: visibility, citations, sentiment and prompt tracking, plus the features its reviewers and Reddit users single out: Prompt Volumes from real-user data, Agent Analytics for crawler and referral behaviour, Profound Agents with credits for content and AEO tasks, shopping visibility, and Ask Profound for natural-language questions about your data. A month-long Reddit comparison called its panel-based prompt volume data “genuinely unique” and its Enterprise coverage of eight or nine engines ahead of the field, then added that it “gives you the most sophisticated visibility intelligence in the market and then nothing happens”.

Scrunch: monitoring across four LLMs on Core and nine on Enterprise, with the enterprise controls a Sitecore product would be expected to carry, SSO and a custom MCP. Our review found its reviewers positive on the platform and its pricing page thin on allowances, which is the pattern of a product sold through a sales process rather than self-serve.

06MCP: three no's below Enterprise

For a buyer who works in Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT, this is the deciding row and all three fail it at their entry prices. Scrunch offers a custom MCP on Enterprise only. Profound’s pages did not show an MCP server when we read them for its review. HubSpot runs a remote MCP server, but its developer documentation lists CRM objects and engagements for read and write and campaigns, pages and blog posts read-only; AEO data is not in the list.

For comparison, every Linkeddit capability, including the fix draft and the re-measurement, is an MCP tool over one URL on the $99 plan; the connector page lists them and the playbooks are recorded transcripts.

07What reviewers and Reddit say

Profound: 4.5 out of 5 on 1,128 G2 reviews, the deepest base in the category. The recurring dislikes in our review were the ChatGPT-only Starter, the price jump to Growth, and a learning curve, alongside praise for prompt volume data and citation depth. In r/aeo, a marketer who tried several tools called Profound “strongest on citation depth and multi-model coverage” with “a steeper learning curve”, and another called it “quite expensive”.

Scrunch: 4.6 on 73 G2 reviews, listed by Sitecore. Reviewers in our review were positive on the platform; the questions are ownership and allowances rather than product complaints.

HubSpot AEO: no listing of its own. Marketing Hub is 4.4 on 14,971 G2 reviews and 13 mention AEO, mostly liking it, with two complaints: “the AEO section is a bit confusing to me still, mostly just because it is new”, and AI-sourced contacts “being classified as Direct instead of with the AI source”. The sharper voice is r/hubspot: “you’re limited to 25/50 depending on plan. The suggestions for prompts are total AI slop”, and “lots of the data I’m getting is totally conflicting”, balanced by “for the average Marketing Hub user it’s perfect”.

Profound in particular gives you the most sophisticated visibility intelligence in the market and then nothing happens, someone still has to go figure out the execution layer separately.

08Measured: what four AI engines say about the three

This section is ours and labelled as such. On 4 September 2026 we ran our own Answer Radar project for linkeddit.com, 21 approved buying questions about AI visibility and competitive intelligence tools, through ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity via their official APIs with grounded search. None of the three vendors is a tracked competitor on that project, so these are mentions the engines volunteered. Per engine, admissible samples only, counts stated, per the methodology.

Citations tell a different story from mentions. Across our full population of 220 completed answers about this category, hubspot.com was cited in 18 answers, 11 by ChatGPT and 7 by Perplexity, the most of any vendor domain we have reviewed. Almost none of it was about AEO: ChatGPT cited HubSpot’s CRM pricing and product pages, and Perplexity cited HubSpot blog roundups, including its posts on competitor monitoring tools, AI citation tracking tools and answer engine optimization tools. tryprofound.com was cited three times, twice by Perplexity and once by Gemini. scrunch.ai was cited zero times.

10Verdict

Pick HubSpot AEO if your marketing runs in HubSpot, three engines are enough, 25 prompts or a few more cover your buying questions, and you want the cheapest first read with a real trial. Expect to source prompts elsewhere; its own users do.

Pick Profound if you want the specialist with the largest review base, prompt volume data from real users, agents with credits for content work, and up to nine engines on Enterprise, and you budget from $399 rather than $99, because the $99 tier tracks one engine.

Pick Scrunch if you want four LLMs at a flat $250 with no per-engine arithmetic, or you are a Sitecore customer and the acquisition is a feature. Ask for the prompt allowance and the MCP terms in writing.

Pick ours if you want four engines including Claude at a fixed $99, MCP that carries the actions as well as the data, and the measurement to end in a fix drafted from what the engines actually read and a re-measurement that says whether it moved. That is Answer Radar; it has no prompt volume data and no in-app publishing, and if those are the job, Profound and HubSpot respectively are the ones to price.

Four engines including Claude, the fix drafted and re-measured, for $99

Answer Radar asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude your buyers’ questions, stores every cited page and every fan-out search, ranks the gaps by evidence, drafts the fix from what the engines actually read, and re-measures. It produced the measured section above.

11Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How much do HubSpot AEO, Profound and Scrunch cost?+

As read on 4 September 2026: HubSpot AEO is $50 a month, or $45 annual, for 25 prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, with more prompts purchasable and one instance per brand. Profound's Starter is $99 a month billed yearly for 50 prompts on ChatGPT only with 100 agent credits, Growth is $399 for 100 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews with 400 credits, and Enterprise is custom with up to nine engines. Scrunch's Core is $250 a month for four LLMs, and Enterprise is custom with nine LLMs, SSO and a custom MCP.

Who owns each product?+

HubSpot AEO is HubSpot's, built on XFunnel, which HubSpot acquired at the end of October 2025 and launched as AEO on 14 April 2026; it is still labelled Beta. Profound is an independent AEO specialist with the largest G2 review base in the category. Scrunch was acquired by Sitecore on 3 June 2026, for about $225 million according to Bloomberg, and its G2 listing now reads 'by Sitecore'. Two of the three are modules of larger platforms.

Which covers the most engines?+

Scrunch at $250 covers four LLMs, and nine on Enterprise. Profound covers one at $99, three at $399, and up to nine on Enterprise. HubSpot covers three at $50 with no path to more. None of the three lists Claude below Enterprise; Profound's and Scrunch's nine-engine Enterprise tiers are where it appears. If Claude matters at entry price, none of these is the answer.

Which has the best reviews?+

Profound has by far the most: 4.5 out of 5 on 1,128 G2 reviews, with recurring complaints about the ChatGPT-only Starter, price jumps and a learning curve. Scrunch is 4.6 on 73, listed by Sitecore. HubSpot AEO has no listing of its own; Marketing Hub is 4.4 on 14,971 and 13 reviews mention AEO, mostly liking it, with complaints that the section is new and confusing and that AI-sourced contacts land as Direct.

Do they have MCP servers?+

Scrunch offers a custom MCP on Enterprise only. Profound's pages did not show an MCP server when we read them for its review. HubSpot's remote MCP server covers CRM objects and read-only marketing content, and does not list AEO data. None of the three gives a $50 to $250 buyer AI visibility data inside Claude or Cursor today.

Which do AI engines mention or cite?+

On our own 21 buying questions measured 4 September 2026, Profound appeared on Claude at 3.8 percent share of voice, tied with Crayon and Google, with 75 percent positive sentiment; HubSpot and Scrunch were not in the top five vendors on any engine as AI visibility tools. Across 220 answers in our wider population, hubspot.com was cited 18 times, more than any vendor we have reviewed, almost entirely for its CRM pages and blog roundups rather than for AEO; tryprofound.com was cited three times and scrunch.ai zero.
