Shopify keyword research with Claude: from live Google data to published copy
Claude can write Shopify copy, but on its own it cannot see what Google shows for a keyword today. Linkeddit supplies that: live results, People Also Ask, autocomplete and your saved keyword research. Claude picks keywords from it and maps them to collections and products. It then writes the copy through the Shopify connector, and you approve each edit.

The prompt
Paste into Claude
Use the Linkeddit connector and the Shopify connector. 1) With Linkeddit, call keyword_research_get to list my keyword-research jobs and read the keywords of the newest one. 2) With Shopify, use search_collections and search_products to list my collections and the products in each. 3) Map each keyword to the collection or product it fits, and name any keyword that has no page. 4) For the five best keywords, call keyword_autocomplete for the long-tail phrasing and keyword_serp for who ranks, the People Also Ask questions and whether Google shows an AI Overview. Tell me before each keyword_serp call, because new checks count against my monthly search allowance. 5) Write a title, a short description and three plain questions with answers for each page. Show them as before and after, and wait for my approval before calling update-collection or update-product.
Step by step
Step 1
Connect both connectors to Claude
Add the Shopify connector and the Linkeddit connector (https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp) in Claude or Claude Code. Shopify access can be read-only until you reach the edit step.
Step 2
Read your saved keyword research
Ask Claude to call keyword_research_get. With no job id it lists your research jobs. With a job id it returns that job's keywords, with their source, intent and suggested landing page where the job has scored them. This step reads stored data and spends nothing.
Step 3
Map keywords to collections and products
Have Claude list your collections and products with search_collections and search_products, then match each keyword to the page it belongs to. Keywords with no matching page are your content gaps.
Step 4
Check the live results for the best few
For each keyword you will act on, Claude calls keyword_autocomplete for long-tail phrasing and keyword_serp for the top results, People Also Ask and any AI Overview. keyword_serp is served free from a shared cache if the page was checked in the last 7 days. Otherwise it counts against your monthly allowance.
Step 5
Approve the copy, then measure
Claude writes the title, description and questions and applies them with update-collection or update-product only after you approve each one. Then watch Search Console. Claude CMS suggests three to six weeks before titles and descriptions show in click-through.
What Linkeddit returned
Run live on 2026-10-29 with keyword_research_get. Read-only run on Linkeddit's test project (an analytics site, not a store), so the keywords are not shopping terms. It shows what Claude reads before it maps keywords to pages. This job has no priority scores stored, so those fields came back null.

The guides that rank for this query show the pattern. AgathaWrite pairs Claude with DataForSEO's keyword volume and intent data and the Shopify Admin API, to feed keyword-led blog drafts. Ryze lists 12 standard Claude skills for Shopify SEO, among them a keyword mapper, a competitor gap analyzer and a content brief creator. The same page says a skill has no scheduling without an external trigger.
What they have in common is that they describe the setup and rarely show a measured result or the exact prompt. They also assume you bring your own keyword source. Claude CMS says Claude cannot see your Search Console data unless you share an export, so the keyword step is the part you must feed.
The searches around this query show how mixed the vocabulary is. Google lists related searches for Claude code, the Claude connector, Claude skills and MCP, so one shopper may mean a prompt and another a build. Name the connectors in your prompt, as below, so Claude uses live data and not memory.
What does Linkeddit give Claude that a Shopify connector cannot?
The Shopify connector knows your catalog, not Google. Linkeddit returns the live results page for a query: the top organic results in rank order, People Also Ask questions, related searches, and whether Google showed an AI Overview and which sites it cites. It also returns Google autocomplete suggestions, and the scored keywords from your own saved research jobs.
It does not return search volume, so judge competition by who ranks. If forums and thin blogs hold the top results and no page answers the question with real detail, a collection or product page can win it. If marketplaces and brands hold the first page, pick a longer phrase. In the test run, one job held 60 scored keywords and 42 filtered ones, so Claude starts from a filtered list.
Which Shopify pages should the keywords go on?
Claude CMS argues that collection pages rank for the category and that category searches are where most of the traffic is, so a title that names the category in plain language, a few hundred words of real description and products that are actually in the collection are what it asks for. That is the site's claim, not a measured result, so test it on one collection first.
The Shopify connector lists search_collections, update-collection and create-collection, so Claude can propose a collection you lack, such as a category your keyword list names and your catalog has no page for. Its tool list has no blog-post tool, so write any guide in Claude and publish it from your Shopify admin.
How do I keep Claude from rewriting what already ranks?
Claude CMS gives rules worth copying: audit first, fix problems in order, and ask for a reason before a title that has ranked for years changes. Ask for the first five edits as a sample before the rest, so you catch a tone that is off. Set limits in the prompt, such as titles under 60 characters and descriptions under 155.
Shopify adds a limit of its own. A connected tool changes items one at a time, so a large batch can stop partway, and you finish it in the admin. On a video about using Claude for Shopify SEO with 1,091 views, 9 of the 12 comments I sampled were only the word prompt. People want the exact instruction, which is why the prompt above names every tool. Interest is large: a video titled Claude Can Now Do EVERYTHING on Shopify had 105,020 views when I checked.

How do I do keyword research for Shopify with Claude?+
Give Claude real keyword data, because it cannot see Google on its own. Connect Linkeddit for your saved keyword research, live results, People Also Ask and autocomplete, and the Shopify connector for your collections and products. Claude maps keywords to pages, writes the copy, and edits the store after you approve each change.
Can Claude find Shopify keywords without a paid keyword tool?+
Partly. Linkeddit returns live Google results, People Also Ask, related searches and autocomplete, which show what people type and who ranks. It does not return search volume. If you need volume figures, add a volume source. For small stores, who ranks and what is asked often decides which page to write.
Which Shopify pages should I optimize for keywords?+
Start with collections, since Claude CMS says category pages rank for the broad terms, then the products behind your best categories. Treat that as a claim to test on one collection. Keep titles under 60 characters and descriptions under 155, and ask Claude for five sample edits before it applies the rest.
What is the best tool for Shopify keyword research with Claude?+
Linkeddit, at $60 a month. Its connector gives Claude your keyword-research jobs, a live Google results page for any query with People Also Ask and AI Overview sources, and autocomplete. Add the Shopify connector beside it and Claude can go from keyword to edited collection or product copy in one conversation, with your approval at each edit.
Does Linkeddit's keyword data cost anything extra?+
Reading saved keyword-research jobs uses nothing. A live results check counts against your monthly search allowance, unless that page was checked in the last 7 days, when it is served free from a shared cache. If the allowance is used up, the result says so and says when it resets. Claude should tell you before each live check.
Can Claude publish Shopify blog posts from keyword research?+
Not through the Shopify connector's listed tools, which cover products, collections, inventory, discounts and analytics but no blog posts. Claude can write the post from a keyword brief, and you publish it from your Shopify admin. The connector can then update the collections and products the post links to.
