Ahrefs MCP and AI visibility: use Ahrefs and Linkeddit together in Claude

Ahrefs hosts a remote MCP server at https://api.ahrefs.com/mcp/mcp. Its documentation says it is available on paid plans from Lite upward, that each plan has a cap on rows per request and a monthly allowance of API units, and that the connection appears in your account with its own API key.

The connector listing shows 61 tools and no write actions. They cover Site Explorer backlinks and organic keywords, Keywords Explorer, Rank Tracker, Site Audit and a family of Brand Radar tools, among them brand-radar-cited-pages, brand-radar-cited-domains and brand-radar-sov-overview for AI visibility. Because it is read-only, Claude can query your Ahrefs data but cannot change it.

Linkeddit measures AI answers itself. Answer Radar asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews your buying questions on a schedule and records who is named, who is recommended and which sources are cited, then lists the questions where a competitor wins. Search records weekly Google ranks with the AI Overview shown above them, and Compete tracks what competitors change. All of it comes with one plan at $60 a month.

Linkeddit supplies data and writes no advice. That leaves the analysis to Claude and keeps the two connectors from overlapping: Ahrefs holds its keyword and link databases, Linkeddit holds its own measurements. Where both report on AI visibility, you can compare the readings side by side and treat disagreement as a reason to look closer, not as an error in either.

Three workflows are written. The AI Overview tracking report joins Linkeddit's weekly rank and AI Overview checks with Ahrefs citation data in one table. The SEO competitor analysis lists who ranks on your keywords and which topics are gaps in Linkeddit, then sizes each rival with Ahrefs domain and backlink data. The citation sources workflow lists the pages AI engines cite for your buying questions and rates each publisher for outreach.

Each page gives the exact prompt to paste into Claude, the steps, and a read-only run on Linkeddit's own test project so you can see the real fields Claude works from. The Ahrefs side is described from its documentation and connector tool list, not run on a live Ahrefs account.

Ahrefs notes that Google blends AI Overview data into standard organic search and gives no identification of Overview clicks in Search Console or GA4. It also reports that Overview content changes 70% of the time and the citations inside it 46% of the time.

So any single reading of AI visibility, from either product, is a sample. The setup here works because both connectors can be asked the same question every week and compared. Linkeddit states in its results that its measurement is a controlled proxy through official provider APIs with grounded web search, not an exact copy of what each searcher sees.
