Troubleshooting

The fixes for the things that come up.

The dashboard says "Checking for the Linkeddit extension…" forever

The dashboard can't see the extension. Try in order:

  • Confirm the extension is installed and enabled at chrome://extensions.
  • Click the reload icon on the Linkeddit extension card, then refresh the dashboard tab.
  • Confirm you're in the same Chrome profile that has the extension.
  • If you're on a development URL (e.g. localhost:3000), make sure the install you have is set up for that environment.

The side panel says "Linkeddit · signed out"

You're not signed in to linkeddit.com in this Chrome profile. Open linkeddit.com in a tab, sign in, then come back to the side panel and hit refresh (top-right icon).

If you ARE signed in but the panel still says signed out, your session may have expired. Sign out and back in once to refresh the cookie.

The side panel says "Reddit · signed out"

Open old.reddit.com in a new tab and sign in. Come back and hit refresh in the side panel. If you use a different Reddit account for outreach, sign in with that account.

"Reddit asked us to slow down"

You've hit Reddit's rate limit. This is normal if you've been sending fast or if your account is new. The extension automatically backs off for 10 minutes when this happens during auto-send.

If it keeps happening:

  • Stop sending for a few hours.
  • When you start again, use a slower pace (try 3–5 minutes between DMs).
  • If it happens repeatedly across sessions, see Reddit account safety.

"Draft failed" or no draft shows up

The AI couldn't draft a DM for this lead. Common causes:

  • The Request doesn't have a Project attached, or the Project is too sparse — the AI doesn't have enough to work with.
  • The lead doesn't have enough profile context to ground a draft.

Fixes: attach a fuller Project, or hit regenerate, or skip this lead and come back later. Projects guide →

"This user doesn't accept DMs" / "User no longer exists"

Reddit returns these when the recipient has DMs disabled, has blocked all-account messages, has deleted their account, or has blocked you specifically. The extension archives the lead so you don't see it again. Nothing to fix on your end.

Send button is greyed out / "Wait Xs"

The extension enforces a 60-second minimum between any send to keep your account safe. The countdown ticks down — try again when it hits zero. If you need more throughput than that, use auto-send and pick a longer interval.

The same lead/post shows up twice

Click the refresh icon in the side panel header to clear the in-memory cache and pull a fresh queue. If the duplicate persists, the source Request or Monitor may actually have a duplicate — check the dashboard list.

Auto-send stopped on its own

The dashboard panel shows the stop reason. Most common ones:

  • queue empty — no uncontacted leads left in this Request.
  • daily cap reached — 30 DMs sent today. Resets at midnight local.
  • signed out of Reddit — re-sign-in to Reddit and restart auto-send.
  • Linkeddit session expired — re-sign-in to Linkeddit and restart.
  • paused after consecutive failures — something is consistently going wrong. Try a few manual sends to see the underlying error.

Still stuck?

Email team@om.linkeddit.com — include a screenshot of the side panel (the status pills and the activity log are the most useful), the URL you were on, and what you expected to happen. We read every email.
