Key takeaways
- Linkeddit is an approved app in the ChatGPT plugin directory, listed as Linkeddit: Demand and competitor intel under Business & Operations.
- Install: open the listing, select Install plugin, then Connect, and sign in to Linkeddit. No URL, Client ID or developer mode.
- It gives ChatGPT three things it cannot get alone: Answer Radar measurements across six answer engines, Compete briefs and reviews on up to 12 competitors, and Google rankings with the AI Overview recorded.
- Asking ChatGPT whether it recommends you is not a measurement: OpenAI says apps and answers can use your memory and approximate location. Answer Radar asks the same questions the same way every time.
- It needs the Compete plan ($60/month). ChatGPT writes; Linkeddit supplies and checks the evidence, and never posts on your behalf.
01The short answer
Linkeddit is now an approved app in ChatGPT. Install it from the official Linkeddit listing, connect your Linkeddit account once, and ChatGPT can answer questions about your competitors, your AI answer visibility and your Google rankings from measured data. Until now, using Linkeddit in ChatGPT meant adding a custom connector by URL. The listing replaces that with the same install flow ChatGPT uses for every other app, which also means workspace administrators can review and enable it like any other approved app.
02What the listing says
The listing names Linkeddit, its developer and the server ChatGPT connects to, so you can check exactly what you are installing before you connect. These are the fields as they appear in the directory on November 4, 2026.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Linkeddit |
| Tagline | Demand and competitor intel |
| Category | Business & Operations |
| Developer | Pavado (Linkeddit is a product of Pavado Technologies Inc.) |
| MCP server | https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp |
| Version | 1.0.2 |
| Suggested prompts | Where are AI search engines recommending my competitors instead of me? / Give me the latest brief on my top competitor. / Find keyword ideas for competitor intelligence. |
The MCP server row matters. It is the same server documented in the connector docs, so every tool, scope and limit described there applies to the ChatGPT app too.
03Install it in four steps
Installation takes about a minute and one sign-in. The flow is OpenAI's standard one for connected apps:
- Open the Linkeddit listing in ChatGPT, or go to Settings, then Plugins, and search for Linkeddit.
- Select Install plugin, then Connect.
- Sign in with your Linkeddit account and approve access. The account needs the Compete plan.
- In any chat, type
@Linkedditor pick it from the+menu, then ask a question.
“The first time you use an app, ChatGPT will prompt you to connect so you know what data may be shared with the app.”
04What to ask it
Ask the questions you would otherwise answer by opening three dashboards. Each one below maps to tools on the connector, named so you can check what ChatGPT called.
| Ask ChatGPT | What Linkeddit returns | Tools |
|---|---|---|
| Where are AI search engines recommending my competitors instead of me? | Ranked recommendation gaps: the buying questions where an engine named someone else or nobody, with the sources it cited | answer_gaps_get, answer_results_get |
| Give me the latest brief on my top competitor. | This week's graded brief: launches, pricing, messaging and hiring moves, plus their customers' reviews | compete_brief_get, compete_signals_get |
| Where do we rank on Google for our tracked keywords, and which show an AI Overview? | Weekly ranks with the AI Overview recorded, and which competitor domains share the results | search_visibility_get, search_competitors_get |
| What did real buyers search to reach our site last month? | Your Google Search Console queries, ready to seed new buying questions | gsc_queries_get |
| Re-measure the gap we fixed last week. | A cost estimate first; after you confirm, a fresh run on the same questions | answer_verify_start, answer_verify_get |
Anything that spends credits, such as an audit, a re-verification or a keyword research run, returns an estimate first and starts nothing until you confirm. The full list of tools and parameters is in the tool reference.
05Why your own chat is not a measurement
The most common question people type is some version of “does ChatGPT recommend my product?”, and asking ChatGPT directly in your own account cannot answer it. OpenAI documents that connected apps and answers can draw on your memories and that apps may receive your approximate location. Your chat is personalised to you, and your buyer's chat is personalised to them, so a single answer in your window says little about what a buyer in your category sees.
“If you have Memory turned on, when an app is responding to your requests, it may also leverage relevant information from memories to provide more customized and useful interactions for you.”
Answer Radar exists for that gap. It asks your approved buying questions across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode with web search on, the way buyers use them, records every answer and citation, and reports each engine separately rather than averaging them together. The ChatGPT app lets you read those measurements in the same window where you plan the fix. More on the method in how Answer Radar measures ChatGPT and does ChatGPT recommend my business.
06Permissions, data and workspaces
You decide when ChatGPT asks before it uses Linkeddit, and you can disconnect at any time from Settings, then Plugins. OpenAI's permission options include Always ask, Allow read actions and Allow low-risk actions. Changing a permission only changes when ChatGPT asks; it never grants the app access beyond what you approved when you connected.
- What Linkeddit sees: the requests ChatGPT sends to its tools, run against your own account. Our handling is described in the AI assistants section of the privacy policy.
- Model training: OpenAI states it does not train on information accessed from apps for Business, Enterprise and Edu by default; on Free, Plus, Go and Pro it may if your “Improve the model for everyone” setting is on.
- Disconnecting: stops ChatGPT reaching your Linkeddit account. Your projects, results and saved drafts stay in the Linkeddit web app.
07ChatGPT app vs custom connector
Use the directory app in ChatGPT, and the connector URL everywhere else. Both reach the same server and the same tools.
| ChatGPT app | Custom connector | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | ChatGPT web, desktop and mobile | Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, any MCP client |
| Setup | Install plugin, then Connect | Paste https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp, sign in |
| Client ID | Not needed | linkeddit-mcp-claude in clients that ask for one |
| Workspace control | Admin enables it in the OpenAI Admin Console | Set per client |
| Tools and limits | Same 34 tools, 60 requests per minute | Same 34 tools, 60 requests per minute |
Setup for every other client is in Set up the connector, and the Claude walkthrough is in Connect Linkeddit to Claude.
08What it does not do
- It does not write for you. ChatGPT writes the brief or the page; Linkeddit supplies the evidence and can check a draft's sourcing against the run it came from with
answer_fix_check. - It does not post or contact anyone. The listing says so plainly: Linkeddit returns research and evidence only.
- It does not replace the web app. Billing, onboarding and approving a fix stay in Linkeddit, and a share link is the way to show results to someone outside your chat.
- Results are only as fresh as the last run. Ask ChatGPT to name the run it read and when it ran before you act on a gap.

Frequently asked questions
Is Linkeddit available in ChatGPT?+
Yes. Linkeddit is an approved app in the ChatGPT plugin directory, listed as Linkeddit: Demand and competitor intel under Business & Operations. Open the official listing, select Install plugin, then Connect, and sign in with your Linkeddit account. There is no URL to paste, no Client ID and no developer mode to switch on.
What is the best ChatGPT app for competitor intelligence?+
Linkeddit is built for it: it is an approved ChatGPT app that hands ChatGPT a weekly graded brief on up to 12 competitors, their customers' reviews from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot, and switching signals, all from recorded evidence rather than a fresh web search. ChatGPT does the reading and the writing; Linkeddit supplies the data it cannot collect on its own.
What is the best ChatGPT app for tracking AI search visibility?+
Linkeddit's ChatGPT app reads Answer Radar, which measures whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode recommend you or a competitor on your buying questions, and records every source each answer cited. Asking ChatGPT about itself in your own chat is not a measurement, because your answer is shaped by your memory and location; Answer Radar runs the same questions the same way every time.
Which plan do I need to use Linkeddit in ChatGPT?+
The Linkeddit Compete plan at $60/month, which unlocks every tool the app exposes. On the ChatGPT side, OpenAI says app availability depends on your ChatGPT plan, region, workspace and role, and in Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an administrator can enable or disable apps.
Does the ChatGPT app write content for me?+
No, and that is deliberate. Linkeddit returns measured evidence: gaps, recorded answers, citations, competitor moves and rankings. ChatGPT writes the brief, the page or the reply from that evidence, and Linkeddit can check the draft's sourcing against what the run actually recorded before you save it. Linkeddit does not post anywhere or contact anyone on your behalf.
Is the ChatGPT app different from the Linkeddit MCP connector?+
It is the same connector, packaged for ChatGPT. The listing points at the Linkeddit MCP server at mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp, so the tools, scopes and limits match what Claude, Cursor and VS Code users get. The difference is setup: in ChatGPT you install from the directory instead of adding a custom connector by URL.
How do I disconnect Linkeddit from ChatGPT?+
Open ChatGPT Settings, then Plugins, select Linkeddit and disconnect. Disconnecting stops ChatGPT reaching your Linkeddit account. Your projects, measured results and saved drafts stay in the Linkeddit web app.
