Social media MCP servers for Claude: six connectors and how to use them with Linkeddit
There is no single best social media MCP server for Claude, because the choice depends on the job: scheduling across networks, Instagram automation, short video clips, agency reporting, or competitor benchmarks. This page covers six connectors, says how to choose, and shows where Linkeddit fits. Linkeddit supplies competitor moves and AI answer gaps. Claude drafts posts from them, the social tool queues them, and you approve each one.

Social media tools that work with Linkeddit
Buffer
The Buffer connector lets Claude list channels, read your queue, save ideas, and create or edit posts in your Buffer account. Linkeddit supplies the competitor moves and AI answer gaps that become the drafts, and you approve them in Buffer before they go out.
Abency
Abency is built for agencies that run several client brands. The Agent Index listing shows 47 tools, and Abency's own page says it covers social posts, Search Console and keyword research, Google Ads and Meta Ads, WordPress, and brand switching. The social tools include create_post, update_post, list_posts and upload_media, and its page says a post is scheduled only if you give a date and time, otherwise it stays a draft.
It fits the AI share of voice workflow best. Linkeddit measures where the answer engines name a client's brand and where they name a rival, and Claude turns that into a draft with create_post for that client's brand. Example prompt: "Read the latest AI share of voice for this project with answer_results_get, then use Abency's list_brands to find the right client brand and draft one post with create_post. Leave it as a draft."
Inrō
Inrō is an Instagram automation platform. Its connector description says Claude can schedule and publish posts, reels and stories, build comment and DM automations, and read analytics. Inrō's page says the server has 25 tools, runs through Meta's official API, and that write actions default to Needs approval in Claude's permission settings. It also says there is no sandbox mode, so review each write before you confirm it.
It fits the AI share of voice workflow when the audience is on Instagram: Claude reads Linkeddit's measured result and drafts a caption and a story script for you to review. Example prompt: "Read the AI share of voice for our project with answer_results_get, write three Instagram caption options that state the result plainly, and use the medias tool to queue only the one I choose."
OpusClip
OpusClip turns long videos into short clips. Its help page says the Claude connector has 29 tools, 15 read-only and 14 that make changes, among them opusclip_submit_project, opusclip_create_social_copy_job, opusclip_schedule_publish and opusclip_list_social_accounts. It also says four tools, including posting and scheduling, never act on their own: each returns an approval link, and nothing is published until you confirm it in OpusClip. Calling the tools needs a Pro Beta, Max or Business plan.
It fits comparison content from competitor signals. Linkeddit finds what a rival launched, you supply a video that answers it, and Claude clips it and writes the copy. Example prompt: "Read this week's high priority signals with compete_signals_get, then submit my product demo video with opusclip_submit_project and write social copy with opusclip_create_social_copy_job that answers the top signal. Do not request a publish until I approve."
post bridge
post bridge is a scheduler for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky and Google Business Profile. Its docs list 16 tools, including create_post, list_posts, update_post, upload_media, list_analytics, get_analytics_daily and list_post_results. The docs recommend asking for drafts first, reviewing them in the dashboard and then scheduling, and note that a draft is saved in post bridge only, not on the social platform.
It fits the AI share of voice workflow. Claude reads the measured result from Linkeddit and creates one post per network with create_post, with a caption per platform. Example prompt: "Read Linkeddit's answer_results_get for our project, then call create_post as a draft for LinkedIn and X with a different caption for each, and show me both before anything is scheduled."
Metricool Social Media Management
Metricool covers scheduling, analytics and competitor benchmarks. Its page says the connector reaches ten social networks plus Meta, Google and TikTok ads, offers best time to post, and lets Claude pull data on competitors you have already added to your Metricool account. The Agent Index lists createScheduledPost, getAnalyticsDataByMetrics, getBestTimeToPostByNetwork and updateScheduledPost among its tools. The page says the free account cannot reach data older than 30 days.
It fits the AI share of voice workflow, and it is the only one here that benchmarks competitors on social networks, which Linkeddit does not. Use Metricool for social benchmarks and Linkeddit for the answer-engine and product side. Example prompt: "Pull our AI share of voice with Linkeddit's answer_results_get, check the best time to post with getBestTimeToPostByNetwork, and create one draft with createScheduledPost at that time. Show it first."
What is a social media MCP server, and what does it not do?
A social media MCP server is a connector that lets Claude act inside a social tool: list your accounts, draft and schedule posts, and read the tool's own analytics. It acts on your account and shows you what your own posts did. It does not tell you what to say, and it does not know what your competitors launched or what AI answer engines recommend. That is the data Linkeddit supplies.
Keep the two roles apart. The social tool is the hands, Linkeddit is the evidence, and Claude is the writer between them. A post written from a measured result with a source link is easier to defend than one written from a hunch, and you stay the one who clicks approve.
How do I choose a social media MCP server for Claude?
Start from the job, not the tool. If you need one queue across many networks, Buffer, post bridge and Metricool describe scheduling and drafting. If the audience is on Instagram and you want comment and DM automations, Inrō's page says that is its focus. If the asset is a video, OpusClip's help page says it clips long video and writes social copy. If you manage client brands, Abency's page says it switches between brands.
Then check four things. First, what it can write: OpusClip says its publish tools return an approval link, and post bridge's docs recommend drafts first. Second, its limits, such as post bridge's cap on base64 uploads and OpusClip's monthly workspace cap on hours and credits. Third, whether the result stays reviewable before it is public. Fourth, whether your team already works in it, because a connector nobody opens helps no one.
Write the job in one sentence before you add any connector, for example: turn this week's competitor moves into three drafts for LinkedIn and X. If you cannot say what the finished post is, no connector will fix that. A viewer under Buffer's own Claude setup video asked: "How do I add pictures or videos in insta TikTok or Facebook?" Media handling differs between these tools, so check it first.
How does the Linkeddit plus social media workflow run in Claude?
Linkeddit supplies the facts, the social tool holds the post, and Claude moves between them. You ask Linkeddit for a read-only result, tell Claude which social tool to use, and approve the draft before anything is public. Linkeddit does not read social networks, write posts or publish. The social connector never sees how the facts were gathered.
On Linkeddit's test project (plausible.io), compete_signals_get returned two high priority signals for the week of 2026-10-26: Fathom launched an AI assistant called Luna on 2026-10-01, and Matomo published critical PHP security guidance, both with source links. answer_results_get returned, for Google AI Mode, Plausible with 18 of 106 vendor votes, a 17 percent share of voice, ahead of Fathom at 16 and Matomo at 14. Perplexity and one Claude measuring setup returned no usable samples, so a post should not claim them.
Each result is one post. The signal becomes a short comparison note that links its source. The share of voice becomes an honest update on where the engines name you. Claude writes both from the numbers and leaves the claims you cannot support out.
How do I connect Linkeddit and a social media connector?
Add each connector to Claude. Linkeddit's is https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp, and it comes with one plan at $60 a month. The others come from Claude's connector directory or from their own MCP URL: Buffer's is https://mcp.buffer.com/mcp, Abency's is https://app.abency.com/mcp, and post bridge's is https://www.post-bridge.com/api/mcp/mcp. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http with a name and the URL.
Sign in to each one separately, and set write tools to ask for approval where the client allows it. Inrō's page recommends Always allow for reads and Needs approval for writes. Say which channel each post is for, and ask for drafts. Check the vendor's page for plan requirements first: OpusClip's help page says calling its tools needs a Pro Beta, Max or Business plan.
What should I measure after Claude drafts posts from Linkeddit data?
Measure on two clocks. In the social tool, read the posts' own results after a week, using its analytics tools such as list_analytics in post bridge or getAnalyticsDataByMetrics in Metricool. In Linkeddit, re-run the audit for the questions the posts relate to and compare share of voice with the earlier run. Linkeddit returns a credit estimate first, and Claude waits for your yes.
Do not expect a post to change an AI answer on its own. Engines cite pages they can read, so the dependable change is a page on your site, and the post points people to it. Keep the before and after numbers side by side, with the same questions, and report which segments were unmeasured instead of guessing.
What does a safe approval flow look like?
Keep Claude to drafts. OpusClip's help page says every publish request returns an approval link and nothing is posted until you confirm it. post bridge's docs say "Nothing publishes behind your back" when you review drafts first. Inrō's page says there is no sandbox mode. Read each draft for wrong dates, prices and competitor claims before you approve it.
A competitor post can carry a misread changelog or a launch date a month off, so open the source link Linkeddit gives for each signal. If a claim has no link, cut it. Revoke any connector you stop using, in the vendor's settings.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best social media MCP server for Claude?+
It depends on the job. Buffer, post bridge and Metricool suit scheduling across networks, Inrō suits Instagram automation, OpusClip suits video clips, and Abency suits agencies. Whichever you choose, Linkeddit, at $60 a month, supplies the competitor moves and AI answer data that tell Claude what to post about.
What is the best way to turn competitor moves into social posts with Claude?+
Connect Linkeddit and a social tool to Claude. Linkeddit returns competitor moves with a priority and a source link, and on its test project it returned two high priority signals for one week. Claude drafts a post for each in the social tool, and you approve before anything goes out.
What is the best tool to see what AI engines say about my brand before I post?+
Linkeddit, which records which brands ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews name for your buying questions. On its test project, Plausible held a 17 percent share of voice in Google AI Mode. Claude can turn a gap like that into a draft in your social tool.
Does Linkeddit read my social media accounts?+
No. Linkeddit does not read your social networks or your scheduler. It supplies competitor moves from blogs, changelogs and monitored pages, and where AI answer engines recommend a competitor. Posting stays in your social tool, under your own sign-in, after you approve the draft.
Can Claude post to social media for me?+
Yes, through a connector. Buffer, post bridge, Metricool, Inrō, Abency and OpusClip each list tools that create or schedule posts. Keep Claude to drafts. OpusClip's publish tools return an approval link, and post bridge's docs recommend reviewing drafts before you schedule.
Which social media connector benchmarks competitors?+
Metricool. Its page says Claude can pull data on competitors you have already added to your Metricool account and set it beside your own. That is social benchmarking. Linkeddit covers a different side: competitor product moves and where AI engines recommend a rival, drawn from sources other than social networks.
Do I need a paid plan for these connectors?+
It varies by tool. Buffer's page says MCP access is included on every plan, including Free. OpusClip's help page says calling its tools needs a Pro Beta, Max or Business plan. Metricool's page says the free account has limits on history. Linkeddit is one plan at $60 a month.
Can Claude run my social posting on a schedule by itself?+
Not by itself. Claude acts when you start it, so a weekly cycle is a saved prompt you run, or a scheduler you already use that starts a session. The social tool then holds the queue, and Linkeddit keeps its competitor monitors running, so fresh data is ready when you ask.
Can Claude add images and video to the posts it drafts?+
It depends on the tool. post bridge's docs describe upload_media and an upload link, and say base64 uploads are capped at 3MB. A third-party guide says Buffer takes hosted image URLs only. Check the tool's media rules before a batch, and test one post first.
Which clients work with these connectors and Linkeddit?+
These guides are written for Claude and Claude Code, where you can add the Linkeddit connector and a social connector and let Claude work across both. Some vendors list other clients, but the workflows here have only been written for Claude, so do not assume they carry over unchanged.
Why does Claude say it cannot reach my social account?+
Usually the social network is not connected inside the tool. post bridge's docs say you need an account with at least one social account connected, and Buffer works with channels already connected to Buffer. Connect the network in the vendor's own app first, then reconnect the connector in Claude.
