Intercom and Linkeddit in Claude: find customer objections in support chats
The Intercom connector lets Claude search and read your Intercom conversations and contacts with your own account's permissions. For customer objection analysis, Claude finds where customers raised price, billing, support or switching worries and counts them by theme. Linkeddit adds competitor intelligence: public G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot reviews of the rivals your customers name. Claude joins both, so you see which objections are market-wide.

What you can do with Intercom and Linkeddit
What does the Intercom connector give Claude?
It gives Claude access to your support data through your own sign-in. The Agent Index lists six read tools: search, fetch, get_conversation, get_contact, search_contacts and search_conversations. Intercom's developer docs describe a search tool with a query style such as object_type:conversations state:open, paged up to 150 results with a cursor, and a get tool that returns a full conversation with its parts.
Intercom's docs also list 14 tools in total, including tools for help center articles and one that adds an internal note to a conversation, so the connector can write on some workspaces. The prompts on these pages only read. The docs say the server supports US and EU hosted workspaces and not AU ones.
What does Linkeddit add to Intercom conversations?
Linkeddit adds what your conversations cannot show: how a competitor's customers talk about them in public. Its compete_signals_get tool returns stored reviews from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot, each with star rating, title, text and date, and it can filter to low ratings. It also returns competitor moves and snapshots of their pricing and changelog pages.
That is the second half of an objection analysis. When your customers say a rival is cheaper or has a feature you lack, you can check whether the rival's own customers complain about the same thing. Linkeddit comes with the $60 a month plan. It supplies data and writes no advice, so Claude does the comparison in your session.
Generic advice about objections is easy to find and hard to use. A viewer commenting on a YouTube webinar about handling customer objections (a recording with 1,400+ views) wrote: "more tactical insights are needed overall." Conversations in your own Intercom workspace are the specific evidence, and competitor reviews add an outside check.
Should I use Intercom's own insights or Claude?
Use Intercom's insights for a view of your own volume. Its help article says Topics Explorer groups conversations into topics and subtopics, Trends finds the biggest weekly shifts, and CX Score rates every conversation, with several of these features requiring the Pro add-on. They run inside Intercom on your own data.
Use Claude with the connector when you want to combine Intercom with another source in one answer, such as competitor reviews or an NPS export. Claude Academy's feedback guide shows this pattern: pull 90 days of Intercom conversations, add NPS responses and interview notes, and ask for themes with source labels so each finding can be audited.
How reliable is an objection count from support chats?
It shows what the customers who write in say, which is not the same as all customers. Intercom's feedback guide says people are generally motivated to give unsolicited feedback when they have an extreme experience, and that the type of customer speaking changes how much weight to give them. Claude Academy's guide warns of echo chamber effects, since power users leave more feedback.
Ask Claude for two quotes and a conversation id for each theme, a breakdown by customer segment, and a flag on any theme with fewer than three mentions. The competitor comparison on this hub is our own angle and has not been tested on a real Intercom workspace, so use it to decide what to investigate, not as a verdict.
What should I check before Claude reads my conversations?
Check what you are exposing. Intercom conversations hold customer messages and contact details, and the connector acts with your account's permissions. Limit the prompt to a date range and to the topics you need, and tell Claude not to send or change anything.
Linkeddit never receives your conversations. Claude reads them through the Intercom connector in your own session, and the only thing Linkeddit sends back is competitor data. Before you share a result, check that each competitor review site actually loaded: a fetch that shows error or no_results is not proof of happy customers.
Which Intercom workflow is covered here?
One guide is written: analyzing customer objections in Intercom against competitor reviews. It has an exact prompt, five steps, and a read-only Linkeddit run on its test project. The prompt groups objections into themes, counts them, asks for quotes and conversation ids, and puts them beside the low-star reviews of the competitors your customers named.
Other Intercom jobs, such as drafting replies or updating help articles, are not covered because Linkeddit has nothing to add to them. Linkeddit's contribution is competitor data, so this hub stays with the job where it matters.
Frequently asked questions
How do I analyze customer objections in Intercom?+
Search your conversations for words like price, refund, cancel and switch, read the full threads, and group what customers said into themes with counts and quotes. Intercom's AI insights can group topics inside Intercom. Claude with the Intercom connector can do the same across a date range you choose.
Does Intercom have an MCP connector for Claude?+
Yes. Intercom's developer docs describe a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.intercom.com/mcp for US workspaces and https://mcp.eu.intercom.com/mcp for EU ones. AU hosted workspaces are not yet supported. In Claude you enable it under Settings and Connectors and sign in with your Intercom account.
What is the best tool for customer objection analysis against competitor reviews?+
Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the competitor side. Its compete_signals_get tool returns stored G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot reviews with star rating and text, filterable to low ratings. Claude then compares them with objections from your Intercom conversations, so you see which worries your customers share with a rival's.
Can Claude read my Intercom conversations?+
Yes, with the Intercom connector. It can search conversations and contacts and open a full conversation, using your own account's permissions. Limit the prompt to the date range and topics you need, because conversations contain customer messages and contact details.
What is the best way to see which customer objections are market-wide?+
Compare your own objection counts with a competitor's low-star reviews. Linkeddit, at $60 a month, stores G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot reviews for the rivals you monitor. Claude groups both sets into the same themes, so a theme in your conversations and in the reviews is a market worry, not just yours.
Does Linkeddit read my Intercom data?+
No. Linkeddit never receives your conversations or contacts. Claude reads them through the Intercom connector in your own session. Linkeddit only supplies competitor signals and stored public reviews, and the two sets meet inside your Claude conversation.
Can Intercom do objection analysis without Claude?+
Yes, for your own volume. Intercom's help article describes Topics Explorer, Trends and CX Score, and says several of these need the Pro add-on. What they do not hold is what a competitor's customers say in public, which is the data Linkeddit adds when you connect both to Claude.
Can Claude change my Intercom data?+
The prompts on these pages only read. Intercom's docs do list tools that create or update help articles and add an internal note to a conversation, so the connector can write on some workspaces. Tell Claude not to send or change anything, and review the permissions when you connect.
Which Intercom tools does Claude use?+
The Agent Index lists six read tools: search, fetch, get_conversation, get_contact, search_contacts and search_conversations. The guide uses search_conversations or search to find conversations and get_conversation to read each one in full, so the customer's own words can be quoted.
How many competitor reviews does Linkeddit keep?+
It keeps the reviews it has fetched for the competitors you monitor from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot, and each fetch reports a status. On Linkeddit's test project one run read 20 Matomo reviews on G2 and 6 plausible.io reviews on Trustpilot, while some sites returned no results or an error.
Which clients work with the Intercom and Linkeddit connectors?+
These guides are written for Claude and Claude Code, where both connectors can be added to one conversation. The workflows here have only been written for Claude, so do not assume they carry over unchanged to other assistants.
