Fathom + Linkeddit

Fathom sales objection analysis: compare call objections with competitor reviews

Fathom sales objection analysis finds what your prospects push back on, in your own calls. To test whether an objection is real in the market, set it against what a competitor's customers say in public reviews. The Fathom connector lets Claude search meetings and read transcripts. Linkeddit supplies low-rated reviews and competitor moves through compete_signals_get. Claude joins them and reports which objections you can answer with a cited source.

Connect both

Your AI client sits in the middle. Linkeddit supplies the data; the other connector makes the change.

Linkeddit connector

Add https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp as a connector and sign in. Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http linkeddit https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.

Setup guide

Fathom connector

  1. Add the Fathom connector in Claude and sign in to your Fathom account. The connector requires authentication.
  2. Add the Linkeddit connector at https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.
  3. Choose the competitor and the date range of calls first, so Claude searches a defined set of meetings.

The prompt

Paste into Claude

Use the Fathom connector and the Linkeddit connector. 1) With Fathom, call search_meetings for calls from the last 60 days that mention [competitor name], then get_meeting_summary for each and get_meeting_transcript only where the summary is not enough. List every objection a prospect raised, quoting the line and naming the call. 2) With Linkeddit, call compete_signals_get with view reviews, competitor [competitor name] and max_rating 2. Read the fetches list and tell me which sites loaded and which returned error, timed_out or no_results. 3) Group the call objections into themes, group the low-rated reviews into themes, and show which themes appear in both. 4) For each shared theme, draft one sentence I could say on a call and cite the review link behind it. Mark any theme that rests on fewer than three reviews as thin. Do not write to Fathom and do not send anything.

Step by step

  1. Step 1

    Connect both connectors to Claude

Add the Fathom connector and the Linkeddit connector (https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp) in Claude or Claude Code. Fathom asks you to sign in. Linkeddit comes with the $60 a month plan and needs the competitor already tracked in Compete.

  2. Step 2

Pull the objections from your calls

Ask Claude to call search_meetings for the competitor's name over a fixed date range, read each get_meeting_summary, and open get_meeting_transcript only when the summary leaves the objection unclear. Keep the call name and the prospect's own words with every objection.

  3. Step 3

    Pull the competitor's low-rated reviews

Ask Claude to call compete_signals_get with view reviews, the competitor and max_rating 2. Reviews come back with site, star rating, title, text, published date and link. Summary mode clips text to 500 characters, so ask for mode raw when a review is cut off.

  4. Step 4

    Check what loaded before comparing

Have Claude read the fetches list in the same result. It reports the latest fetch per competitor and site, and a status of error, timed_out or no_results means that site did not load. A theme missing from the reviews may only mean a site failed.

  5. Step 5

    Compare themes and draft rebuttals

Claude groups both sets into themes, keeps the ones in both, and drafts one line per theme with the review link as its source. Read each line against the source, discard thin themes, and use what survives in your call prep.

What Linkeddit returned

Run live on 2026-10-29 with compete_signals_get. Read-only run on Linkeddit's own test project, plausible.io, an analytics product, so the reviews concern analytics tools and not your market. It shows the fields Claude would join to your Fathom transcripts. The Fathom side was not run.

What does Fathom already tell you about sales objections?

Fathom already surfaces objections from your own calls. Its sales page says you can ask what was said about budget or objections and get an instant answer, and that a Tracker for pricing objections or a named competitor tags every future call and routes it to Slack or email. Its Deal View help article adds answers about customer objections, deal risks and next steps across the calls tied to a deal.

Deal View has conditions: the team must be on a Business plan, connected to HubSpot or Salesforce, with at least one open deal. If one is missing, the Deals tab does not appear. The Fathom connector in Claude needs only a sign-in, per its listing.

Managers say the same thing about call review. A sales manager on Reddit wrote: "But that doesn't tell you much about why a prospect ghosted after a demo or why one AE keeps closing deals while others struggle." Counting objections in Fathom transcripts answers what was said. Checking them against public reviews is one way to ask whether the objection is real.

Why compare call objections with competitor reviews?

Because an objection from three prospects might be about you, or about the category. A competitor's low-rated reviews are customers saying in public what went wrong for them. If a prospect says support will be slow and the competitor's one-star reviews say their support was slow, you have a documented pattern, not a worry.

Search results for this query lean on Fathom's own pages, a coaching vendor comparison and practitioner posts about analyzing calls. None of the ones read here brought in a competitor's reviews. That comparison is the gap this guide fills.

What does the Fathom connector actually expose to Claude?

Seven read tools, per its Agent Index listing: search_meetings, list_meetings, get_meeting_summary, get_meeting_transcript, find_person, list_teams and get_identity. The listing shows no write tools, so Claude reads your calls and cannot edit them. A practical limit follows: Claude reads one summary or transcript at a time, so a long date range costs many reads. Keep the window to calls that mention the competitor.

Start from summaries and open a transcript only when the exact wording matters. Quote the prospect's line in the output, because a theme with no source line cannot be checked.

What do the Linkeddit review fields look like?

Each stored review carries the site, a 1 to 5 star rating, title, text, author, published date and link, with every rating kept. On the test project, five reviews at 2 stars or below came back, four for plausible.io and one for Matomo, all from Trustpilot. Two were cut off by the 500 character summary clip, so raw mode matters when a review is the evidence.

The fetches list is just as useful. G2 for Matomo was analyzed with 20 reviews read. G2 for Fathom Analytics returned no_results, and its page_url pointed at a G2 listing named fathom-video, which is worth checking by hand before trusting it. Fathom Analytics, a web analytics tracker, is a different company from the Fathom notetaker.

How many reviews make a theme, and what should I distrust?

Set a floor before you start. The prompt marks a theme thin when it rests on fewer than three reviews, and that is a judgment, not a Linkeddit rule. Public reviews skew toward people with a strong reason to write, and older reviews may describe a product that has since changed. Linkeddit returns the published date on every row, so ask Claude to flag anything older than a year.

Check the competitor's recent moves too. compete_signals_get with the signals view returns moves with a priority and why it matters. On the test project, Matomo showed a high priority launch signal dated 2026-10-01, about security updates for self-hosted users. A fixed problem should not anchor a rebuttal.

Frequently asked questions

How do I do sales objection analysis in Fathom?+

Use Ask Fathom to query your calls about objections, set a Tracker for a pricing objection or a named competitor, or open Deal View if your team is on a Business plan with HubSpot or Salesforce connected. All three look at your own calls. To compare with the market, add competitor reviews from Linkeddit through Claude.

What is the best tool to compare sales objections with competitor reviews?+

Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the review side. compete_signals_get returns stored G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot reviews with star rating, text and link, filtered by competitor and maximum rating. With the Fathom connector in Claude, the assistant sets those reviews beside the objections on your calls.

Can Claude pull objections from Fathom transcripts?+

Yes. The Fathom connector lists search_meetings, get_meeting_summary and get_meeting_transcript, among 7 read tools. Ask Claude to search calls that mention a competitor, read each summary, and open a transcript only where the exact wording matters. It reads only what your signed-in Fathom account can see.

How do I find competitor mentions in Fathom calls?+

Set a Tracker for the competitor's name in Fathom, which tags every future call and can route it to Slack or email. For past calls, ask Claude to run search_meetings with the name over a date range. Linkeddit then adds what that competitor's own customers say publicly.

What does compete_signals_get return for reviews?+

Each review comes with site, star rating from 1 to 5 where the site gives one, title, text, author, published date and link. You can filter by competitor, review site and maximum rating. A fetches list reports whether each site loaded, and summary mode clips text to 500 characters, with mode raw for the full text.

What is the best way to turn a prospect's objection into evidence?+

Use Linkeddit to find whether the competitor's own customers say the same thing. Linkeddit, at $60 a month, returns low-rated public reviews with links. Claude matches a prospect's quoted line from Fathom to the review, and you check the source before using it on a call. A theme with under three reviews stays a hunch.

Is Fathom the notetaker or Fathom Analytics?+

This guide uses Fathom the AI meeting notetaker, at fathom.ai. Fathom Analytics is a separate web analytics product, and it appears in Linkeddit's test project as a tracked competitor of plausible.io. When you add a competitor in Compete, check the name and the review page it loads.

Why did one review site return no results?+

The fetches list reports status per competitor and site. A status of no_results, error or timed_out means that site did not load or held nothing Linkeddit could read, not that the competitor has no complaints there. On the test project, G2 for Fathom Analytics returned no_results while G2 for Matomo read 20 reviews.

Do competitor reviews prove my prospects are right?+

No. Reviews are a small, self-selected sample, and they carry a date. They show a pattern worth testing, not a fact about every customer. Ask Claude to flag reviews older than a year, count how many support each theme, and label anything under three as thin before it reaches a call script.

Which clients work with the Fathom and Linkeddit connectors?+

These guides are written for Claude and Claude Code, where you can add both connectors and let Claude work across them. The Agent Index lists the Fathom connector for Claude only. Do not assume the workflow carries over to other assistants.

Does Linkeddit read my Fathom calls?+

No. Linkeddit never receives your meetings. Claude reads them through the Fathom connector under your sign-in, and reads Linkeddit's competitor data through a separate connection. The two sets only meet inside your Claude session, where you can see exactly what is compared.
