Fathom and Linkeddit in Claude: compare sales call objections with competitor reviews

Reading your Fathom calls for objections shows what your own prospects push back on. It cannot show what a competitor's customers complain about, because those calls are not in your library. The Fathom connector lets Claude search your meetings and read summaries and transcripts. Linkeddit adds the other half: competitor moves and the public reviews of their customers. Claude joins the two and names the objections you can answer with evidence.

What you can do with Fathom and Linkeddit

What does the Fathom connector give Claude?

The Fathom connector is a read-only window onto your meetings. Its listing in the Agent Index shows 7 tools, all reads: search_meetings, list_meetings, get_meeting_summary, get_meeting_transcript, find_person, list_teams and get_identity. It lists no tool that writes, so Claude can read what was said on your calls and cannot change anything in Fathom.

That is enough for objection work. Claude can find the calls that mention a competitor, pull the transcript of each, and group the pushback. What it does not have is any view outside your own calls, which is where Linkeddit comes in.

What can Fathom find about objections on its own?

Fathom already covers objections inside your call library. Its sales page says you can ask what was said about budget or objections and get an answer, and set a Tracker for pricing objections or a named competitor so every future call is tagged and routed to Slack or email. Its Deal View help article says the Deal View answers questions about customer objections, deal risks and next steps.

Two limits matter. Deal View only appears for a team on a Business plan with HubSpot or Salesforce connected and at least one open deal. And all of it describes your calls only. It can tell you a prospect raised a competitor. It cannot tell you why that competitor's own customers are unhappy.

The gap is one that managers describe. A sales manager on Reddit wrote: "A lot of call reviews just turn into checking boxes." A transcript can show that an objection was raised. It cannot say whether the same objection is also what customers write about a competitor, which is the comparison Linkeddit adds.

What does Linkeddit add to a Fathom objection analysis?

Linkeddit adds the competitor side. compete_signals_get returns competitor moves with a priority and a why it matters, snapshots of competitor pricing and changelog pages, and stored reviews from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot with the star rating kept. You can filter reviews by competitor, site and maximum rating.

A review is a customer saying in public what they dislike. Set beside the objections your prospects raise, it shows which pushback is a real market pattern, and which competitor weakness you can name with a source. Linkeddit writes no analysis. It supplies the rows, and your own assistant reads them. One plan, $60 a month, covers it.

How is this different from a sales coaching tool?

A sales coaching platform scores how your reps handle an objection. This workflow answers a different question: which objections are your market's, and what do the competitor's customers say about the same point. Comparison pages from coaching vendors, such as RepEdge's, argue for coaching features. They do not bring in competitor reviews.

The two can sit together. Fathom lists a SecondBody integration that turns objections from your calls into roleplay scenarios. Use the Fathom and Linkeddit pairing to decide which objections deserve a rebuttal backed by evidence, and a coaching tool to rehearse them.

Which Fathom workflow is covered here, and what should I check first?

One guide covers the objection comparison: an exact prompt, the steps and a read-only Linkeddit run showing the review fields Claude would join to your transcripts. Check two things before you trust a result. First, make sure the competitor name means the product you mean: Fathom Analytics, a web analytics tool, is a different company from the Fathom notetaker.

Second, check that the reviews loaded. Linkeddit's fetch list reports a status per competitor and site, and no_results or error means the site did not load, not that it has no reviews. On the test project, Claude would see that before writing a single claim.

Does Claude need a schedule to keep this analysis current?

No schedule is needed on the data side. On Linkeddit's test project all five competitor monitors are set to weekly, each with a next run of 2026-11-04, so reviews and signals refresh without you. Claude itself acts only when you start it, so run the same saved prompt after each batch of calls, and compare the new themes with the last set rather than starting over.

Frequently asked questions

How do I analyze sales objections with Fathom?+

Inside Fathom, use Ask Fathom to query your calls about objections, or set a Tracker for a pricing objection or a named competitor so future calls are tagged. To go further, connect Fathom to Claude, which can search meetings and read transcripts. That analysis covers your own calls only.

What is the best tool for sales objection analysis against competitors?+

Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the competitor half. compete_signals_get returns competitor moves and stored customer reviews from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot, filterable by star rating. Connect it with Fathom in Claude and the assistant lines your call objections up against what competitors' customers publicly complain about.

Can Claude read my Fathom meetings?+

Yes. The Fathom connector lists 7 read tools, including search_meetings, get_meeting_summary and get_meeting_transcript. It requires you to sign in, and its listing shows no write tools. Claude reads only what your Fathom account can see, so limit the prompt to the calls and dates you need.

Does Fathom find competitor mentions on calls?+

Yes. Fathom's sales page describes Trackers for a named competitor or a pricing objection, tagged on every future call and routed to Slack or email. That tells you how often a competitor comes up on your calls. It does not tell you what that competitor's other customers say about them.

What does Linkeddit add to Fathom?+

Competitor evidence from outside your calls. Linkeddit supplies competitor moves with a priority, snapshots of their pricing and changelog pages, and stored public reviews with star ratings. Claude joins that with the Fathom transcripts. Linkeddit does not read your meetings, and Fathom does not see competitor reviews.

Is Fathom the same as Fathom Analytics?+

No. Fathom, at fathom.ai, is the AI meeting notetaker this guide uses. Fathom Analytics is a privacy-focused web analytics product, and it shows up in Linkeddit's test project as a tracked competitor. The names are close, so check which one a monitor or a review page refers to before drawing a conclusion.

What is the best way to turn call objections into competitor rebuttals?+

Pair Fathom with Linkeddit in Claude. Fathom supplies the objection as your prospect said it. Linkeddit, at $60 a month, supplies the competitor's low-rated public reviews and recent moves with source links. Claude then drafts a rebuttal that cites a review rather than an opinion, and you check the source before anyone uses it.

Do I need a Fathom Business plan?+

Not for the connector as described in its listing, which needs a sign-in. Fathom's Deal View is different: its help article says it needs a team on a Business plan with HubSpot or Salesforce connected and at least one open deal. Check your own plan in Fathom before relying on either.

Which clients work with the Fathom and Linkeddit connectors?+

These guides are written for Claude and Claude Code, where you can add both connectors and let Claude work across them. The Agent Index lists the Fathom connector for Claude only. Do not assume the workflow carries over to other assistants without checking their connector lists.

Can Claude run this objection analysis every week on its own?+

Not by itself. Claude acts when it is started, so you run a saved prompt, or use a scheduler you already have. Linkeddit keeps its side current: on the test project all five competitor monitors run weekly, so fresh reviews and signals are there whenever you ask.

How do I know the review data is complete?+

Read the fetches list that compete_signals_get returns with reviews. It gives the latest fetch per competitor and site, and a status of error, timed_out or no_results means the site did not load, not that it has no reviews. A good analysis reports those gaps instead of treating silence as praise.
