Type the name with or without the r/ prefix. Generic best-time-to-post advice is worthless because every community keeps its own hours; r/SaaS and r/india do not peak at the same time.
Step 2
Those are the day-and-hour blocks where posts earned the highest average upvotes, in your timezone. They are ranked by performance, not by post volume, which is the distinction most timing tools get wrong.
Step 3
The darkest cells are the strongest. Cells shown in light grey had only one post in the sample, so they are not signal. Blank cells had none at all.
Step 4
Post your best work in a strong window. A good post at a mediocre hour still outperforms a weak post at the perfect one, so never delay something good to hit a slot.

There is no single answer, which is why generic guides disagree. Each subreddit peaks at different hours depending on where its members live and what they use it for. This tool computes the answer for one specific subreddit from the real timestamps and scores of its recent posts.
It reads a subreddit's recent top and new posts, buckets each one by the day and hour it was submitted, then ranks each bucket by the average upvotes posts in that bucket actually earned. Buckets containing fewer than two posts are excluded from the ranking so one viral post cannot create a fake winner.
Because the hour when the most people post is often the hour when it is hardest to be seen. What you want is the hour when a post is most likely to perform, which is a different number and sometimes the opposite one.
Yes. The analysis is computed in UTC and converted in your browser to whatever timezone your device reports, which is also shown above the heatmap. Timezones offset by thirty or forty-five minutes are rounded to the nearest hour.
The tool needs at least twenty-five recent posts to find a pattern. Very small or very quiet subreddits do not produce that, and drawing a confident heatmap from twelve posts would be a fabrication. In that case it tells you rather than guessing.
Less than post quality and much less than picking the right subreddit, but it is not nothing: the same post in a dead window and a peak window can differ several times over in reach. Treat it as a tiebreaker once the post is already good.
