ZoomInfo + Linkeddit
Find companies using competitor software with ZoomInfo and Linkeddit
To find companies using competitor software in ZoomInfo, filter by the competitor's technology, then add a reason to talk. The ZoomInfo connector lets Claude search its company and contact data, including technographics, intent signals and scoops. Linkeddit supplies the reason: what the competitor changed, published or got criticised for, with source links. Claude pairs a list of accounts with the competitor move or review behind each message, so the outreach says something true.

Connect both
Your AI client sits in the middle. Linkeddit supplies the data; the other connector makes the change.
Linkeddit connector
Add https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp as a connector and sign in. Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http linkeddit https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.
ZoomInfo connector
- Add the ZoomInfo connector in Claude and sign in with your ZoomInfo account. The connector requires authentication.
- Add the Linkeddit connector at https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.
- Decide the competitor, your ideal customer profile and the region first, so Claude does not search the whole database.
Endpoint: https://mcp.zoominfo.com/mcp
Works in: Claude, Claude Code.
The prompt
Paste into Claude
Use the Linkeddit connector and the ZoomInfo connector. My competitor is [competitor] and my ideal customer is [size, industry, region]. 1) With Linkeddit, call compete_monitors_get to confirm [competitor] is tracked, then compete_signals_get for [competitor] with priority high, and again with view=reviews and max_rating=3. List each move or complaint with its source link. 2) With ZoomInfo, call search_companies for companies in my ideal customer profile that use [competitor]'s product. If the search cannot filter by technology, say so and stop. Do not guess. 3) For up to ten of them, call search_intent_signals and search_scoops and note any that match a Linkeddit signal. 4) For the best five accounts, call get_recommended_contacts. 5) Write a one-paragraph opening for each account that cites one Linkeddit signal, or says there is none. Do not save an audience and do not send anything.
Step by step
Step 1
Connect both connectors to Claude
Add the ZoomInfo connector and the Linkeddit connector (https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp) in Claude or Claude Code. ZoomInfo asks you to sign in. Linkeddit comes with the $60 a month plan. Add the competitor as a monitor in Linkeddit first, so its blog, changelog, pages and reviews are already collected.
Step 2
Read the competitor's recent moves and reviews
Ask Claude to call compete_monitors_get and then compete_signals_get for the competitor, with the high priority filter, and again with view=reviews and a maximum rating of three. Each signal carries a priority, a category, a why-it-matters line and a source link. Reviews carry the site, rating and date.
Step 3
Find the companies in ZoomInfo
Have Claude call search_companies for your ideal customer profile and the competitor's technology. ZoomInfo describes technographics as a data point on a company record, and its own guide separates accounts running a competitor's tool from accounts with a gap. Tell Claude to stop and say so if the filter does not exist.
Step 4
Match accounts to signals and pick contacts
For the shortlist, ask Claude to call search_intent_signals and search_scoops, then get_recommended_contacts for the best five. Keep an account only if something supports the timing: an intent signal, a scoop, or a Linkeddit signal that touches what that account uses.
Step 5
Review the openings before anything leaves
Claude writes one short opening per account that cites a Linkeddit signal and its source link. Read each one, open the source, and delete any line the source does not support. Save an audience in ZoomInfo or send a message yourself, only after you have reviewed the list.
What Linkeddit returned
Run live on 2026-10-29 with compete_signals_get. Read-only run on Linkeddit's own test project, which tracks five analytics competitors. The ZoomInfo side was not run. It shows the reason side of the workflow: a high priority competitor move with a source link, and the stored low-rated reviews Claude would read next.

ZoomInfo's technographics guide says its technographic coverage spans 30,000+ technologies across 200+ categories, and it describes competitive displacement as identifying accounts using a competitor's product and targeting them with messaging about known pain points. In the connector, that search is search_companies, and enrich_company returns the technology data on a record.
ZoomInfo's connector listing shows 21 tools: 13 reads, 2 writes and 6 it does not classify, over a database it describes as 100M+ companies and 500M+ professionals. The listing does not confirm that search_companies filters by a named technology, so the prompt tells Claude to stop and say so rather than guess. Check ZoomInfo's connector documentation for the filters it supports.
Why does a list of competitor users still not make an outreach?
A list says who, not why now. ZoomInfo's own guide separates an account with a gap from one already running a competitor's tool, and says the second needs you to prove why switching is worth it. Technographics cannot supply that proof. A competitor's own blog, changelog and customers' reviews can.
That is the half Linkeddit adds. On Linkeddit's test project, the one high priority signal for Matomo was its critical PHP security guidance, with a source link and a why-it-matters line about maintenance for self-hosted users. A reader of that guidance is a better first message than a generic pitch.
Generic outreach fails for a simple reason. A B2B SaaS founder on Reddit wrote that "vague “we do it differently” claims kill cold outreach." A list of companies tells you who to write to. It does not give you a specific, sourced reason that is true of their current vendor.
What can Claude say about a competitor without overreaching?
Only what a source supports. Signals from Linkeddit carry a source name, a link and a date, and reviews are stored as the sites showed them, with the site, rating and date. Claude should cite the signal, not paraphrase it into a stronger claim, and should say when a signal is old. The Matomo item above is dated 2025-01-01 and priority watch.
Do not name a reviewer or imply a specific account wrote a review. Reviews tell you what a competitor's customers broadly complain about, such as the documentation and tag manager complaints in the stored Matomo reviews. They do not tell you which of your target companies agree.
Does Linkeddit find the companies or contacts?
No. Linkeddit is competitor intelligence: it tracks what competitors publish, change and get reviewed for, and where AI answer engines recommend them. It holds no company or contact list and sends no outreach. ZoomInfo supplies the accounts and the people, and you decide what to send.
Keep the split in the prompt. Tell Claude which tool answers which question, so it never asks Linkeddit for a company list or asks ZoomInfo what a competitor changed last week. The prompt on this page does that, and it stops if a step cannot be done instead of improvising.
What should I check before using ZoomInfo through Claude?
Check the permissions and the data. ZoomInfo's connector is listed as read and write, with update_gtm_context and audience saving among the writes, so say in the prompt that Claude must not save an audience. Contact data is personal data, so follow your own policy and the law for the countries you contact.
Then check the freshness. A technology tag can be out of date. If a competitor lost the account, the message lands badly. Ask Claude to flag any account where ZoomInfo's data looks old, and verify the top few by hand before you write.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find companies using a competitor's software in ZoomInfo?+
Search ZoomInfo's companies with a technology filter for the competitor's product plus your size, industry and region filters. ZoomInfo's guide describes this as competitive displacement. Through the connector, Claude runs search_companies for you, and Linkeddit adds a reason for the message from the competitor's recent moves and reviews.
What is the best tool for finding competitor customers?+
ZoomInfo for the company and contact data, and Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the reason to reach out. ZoomInfo shows which companies run a competitor's tool. Linkeddit shows what that competitor changed and what its customers complain about, with source links. Claude joins them into one opening per account.
Can Claude use ZoomInfo?+
Yes. ZoomInfo lists a connector for Claude at https://mcp.zoominfo.com/mcp that requires you to sign in. Its listing shows 21 tools, including search_companies, search_contacts, enrich_company, search_intent_signals and search_scoops. Check with ZoomInfo which of your plan's features the connector can use before you plan a workflow around it.
What is the best way to know why a competitor's customers might switch?+
Linkeddit, at $60 a month, because it tracks a competitor's blog, changelog and pages with a priority on each move, and stores its public reviews from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot with the rating and date. Claude reads them over the connector, so each claim has a source link behind it.
How do I search for companies on ZoomInfo?+
In ZoomInfo's own app you open its company search and narrow it with the filters it offers. With the connector, you describe the companies in plain language and Claude calls search_companies. ZoomInfo describes its database as 100M+ companies, so narrow the search before you ask for results.
Does Linkeddit give me a list of companies using a competitor?+
No. Linkeddit holds no company or contact list. It supplies competitor intelligence: moves from blogs, changelogs and monitored pages, and customer reviews from review sites. The list of companies comes from ZoomInfo. Claude uses Linkeddit's data to decide what to say to them.
Can ZoomInfo's connector change data or save lists?+
Yes. The connector is listed as read and write, with 13 read tools, 2 write tools and 6 it does not classify. update_gtm_context and saving an audience are among the writes. Tell Claude in the prompt not to save an audience until you have reviewed the list.
Who is ZoomInfo's biggest competitor?+
It depends on the job. Salesforce's comparison lists Sales Cloud, Apollo.io, Cognism, Lusha, Clearbit by HubSpot and Clay, while another roundup names Apollo, Cognism, Lusha and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. These pages do not rank them. Linkeddit is not a ZoomInfo alternative: it covers competitor moves, not contact data.
How current is the competitor information Claude uses?+
Linkeddit's monitors run on a set frequency, and each signal carries a date. On Linkeddit's test project all five monitors run weekly. Each signal and review has a date and a source link, so Claude can say when something is old. ZoomInfo's technology tags have their own refresh, so verify a few by hand.
Can Claude send the outreach for me?+
The prompt on this page does not. Claude writes one opening per account and stops. Linkeddit sends nothing, and the ZoomInfo connector's tools in this workflow only read data. Reviewing each line against its source link before you send is the point of keeping a person in the loop.
Which clients work with the ZoomInfo and Linkeddit connectors?+
This guide is written for Claude and Claude Code, where you can add both connectors and let Claude work across them. ZoomInfo's own page mentions other AI tools, but this workflow has only been written for Claude, so do not assume it carries over unchanged elsewhere.
