Todoist SEO task management and AI visibility, with Claude

Todoist SEO task management works when each task says what to do and why. The Todoist connector lets Claude find, add, update and complete tasks in your account. Linkeddit supplies the why: ranked actions for buying questions where ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews recommend a competitor instead of you, plus competitor moves and your Search Console queries. Claude writes the tasks and adds them after you approve.

What does the Todoist connector let Claude do?

Todoist runs its own MCP server at https://ai.todoist.net/mcp. Its Agent Index listing shows 27 tools, 14 reads and 12 writes, among them find-tasks, add-tasks, update-tasks, complete-tasks, add-comments and add-projects. Todoist's help page says it asks for the data:read_write scope, so Claude can create tasks and projects, edit what is there and complete tasks.

Sign-in uses OAuth. Todoist says approving it hands the assistant a token, not your password, and that you can review or revoke the token in Settings under Integrations. The connector has no view of competitors or of what AI engines say about you. It holds the to-do list, and Linkeddit holds the evidence.

How do I turn AI visibility gaps into Todoist tasks?

Ask Claude to read the open action cards from Linkeddit, check Todoist for tasks that already cover them, and add one task per card after you approve the drafts. Linkeddit's action queue records where an engine recommended a competitor or nobody, ranks the actions, and attaches counts. On Linkeddit's test project the top card shows a competitor cited 12 times and named 3 times for one question.

A good task is short and checkable: the buying question in the title, the competitor that holds the answer and the counts in the description, and a due date. Claude can then use update-tasks to move the date and complete-tasks when the page ships. Linkeddit writes none of this text. Claude does, from the data.

Can competitor moves become Todoist tasks?

Yes, when you ask. Claude can read Linkeddit's competitor signals, each with a priority, a category and a source link, and add a task for the high priority ones. A pricing change becomes a task to review your own pricing page. A launch becomes a task to update the comparison page.

Claude does not watch on a timer, so you run a saved prompt each week. Linkeddit's side keeps time: on the test project all five competitor monitors run weekly, each with a next run of 2026-11-04. Todoist's own recurring tasks can be the reminder to run the prompt. One Todoist note applies: if a recurring task loses its repeat schedule, ask Claude to reschedule it to a date rather than change its date.

The risk is a finding with no owner. A competitive intelligence founder on Reddit wrote: "Teams collect screenshots and links, put them into Notion, send a Slack update and move on. Nobody clearly owns the response." A task assigned to someone with a due date is one answer to the last sentence there.

Can Search Console queries become Todoist refresh tasks?

They can, once your property is connected to Linkeddit. Its Search Console tool returns your own queries with impressions, clicks and average position, with a striking distance view for positions 11 to 20 and a view for queries with no dedicated page. Each row is a task: refresh this page for this query.

On the test project Search Console is not connected, so the tool returned no rows and said so plainly. A task from this source should name the query, the page and the position. Todoist then holds the list, and a content refresh stops living in a spreadsheet you forget to open.

What should a Todoist SEO task contain?

A task should name one page, one question and one finish line. The first Google result for this topic is Todoist's own task management page, and it describes the product as turning quick thoughts into organized tasks. That suits a note to yourself, but a note that says improve AI visibility gives nobody a finish line.

Ask Claude to write each task as an action plus its evidence: the buying question, the competitor named in the answer, the counts from Linkeddit, and the page that should change. Todoist's connector also lists add-comments, so Claude can attach the source links as a comment and keep the title short. When you complete the task, ask Claude to note it for the next Linkeddit check.

Is Todoist the right place for SEO work, or Jira?

Todoist fits one person or a small team. The Agent Index profile calls its target persona individual knowledge workers and small teams, and the connector is built around finding, adding and completing tasks. Its listing does not include sprint or issue-workflow tools of the kind a developer team uses.

If SEO fixes need engineering review, statuses and a shared board, use the Atlassian guide instead. If one marketer owns the list, Todoist is simpler and Claude can fill it in a minute. Todoist's own help also warns that the connector cannot place a new project inside a workspace folder at creation, so create the project first and ask Claude to move it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I use Todoist for SEO task management?+

Make one project for SEO, add a task per job such as a page refresh, a comparison page or a link request, and use due dates, priorities and recurring tasks for ongoing checks. Todoist is simplest for one person or a small team. A task works best when its description states the evidence behind it.

What is the best tool to turn AI visibility gaps into Todoist tasks?+

Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the evidence. Its action queue records where ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews recommend a competitor and ranks the actions with counts. Connect it and the Todoist connector to Claude, and Claude drafts one task per action for you to approve.

Can ChatGPT integrate with Todoist?+

Todoist's own help lists a guide for using Todoist in ChatGPT. The guides on this page are written for Claude and Claude Code only, where you can add the Linkeddit and Todoist connectors and let Claude work across both. Do not assume the prompts carry over unchanged to another assistant.

How do I connect Todoist to Claude?+

Add the Todoist connector in Claude and sign in to your Todoist account, or in Claude Code run claude mcp add --transport http todoist https://ai.todoist.net/mcp and authenticate with /mcp. Todoist asks for the data:read_write scope, and you can revoke access any time in Settings under Integrations.

What is the best way to track AI search work in Todoist?+

Keep one project and one task per measured gap. Linkeddit, at $60 a month, gives each gap a rank and an evidence score, so each task states the question, the competitor holding the answer and a due date. Claude adds the tasks through the Todoist connector and completes them as pages ship.

Does Linkeddit write the Todoist tasks?+

No. Linkeddit supplies data: ranked actions, competitor moves, cited sources and Search Console queries. Claude writes the task text and the Todoist connector adds it. Linkeddit writes no briefs or advice, so you and Claude decide the wording, the dates and the priorities.

Can Claude add tasks to Todoist for me?+

Yes. The Todoist connector lists add-tasks, update-tasks and complete-tasks, plus find-tasks and find-projects for reading. Todoist says most assistants confirm before writing, so you may be asked to approve each change. Asking Claude to show drafts first keeps you in charge of what lands in your list.

Can Claude send competitor alerts into Todoist on a schedule?+

Not by itself. Claude acts when started, so you run a saved prompt each week, and a recurring Todoist task can remind you. Linkeddit's competitor monitors run weekly on their own, so fresh signals are ready whenever Claude asks. A tool that pushes alerts on a timer is a different product.

Why did my recurring Todoist task lose its schedule?+

Todoist's help says this happens when the assistant changes the date instead of rescheduling the task. Use a prompt such as reschedule this task to a given date rather than change the task date. If a recurring task already lost its repeat, set it again in the task's date field.

Is it safe to let Claude read my Todoist?+

Claude reaches Todoist through OAuth, and Todoist says the assistant gets a token, never your password, which you can revoke in Settings under Integrations. It can read and change what your account can. Linkeddit never receives your Todoist content; it only supplies competitor and answer data.

How do I stop duplicate tasks when I re-run the prompt?+

Put the Linkeddit action id in each task description, and have Claude run find-tasks for that text before adding anything. Cards that already have a task are skipped. This also catches a gap that returns later as a new card after an earlier one was completed.
