Optmyzr MCP with Claude: PPC account data, with competitor and AI answer evidence from Linkeddit

The Optmyzr MCP connects Claude to your Optmyzr account so it can read PPC performance, auction competitors, alerts and optimization opportunities, and stage changes for review. Optmyzr's guide says changes are not applied at once: they wait on a Change Requests page for a person on your team. Linkeddit adds what a PPC account cannot show: competitor pricing, blog and changelog moves, and where AI answer engines name a rival instead of you.

Setup guide

Optmyzr MCP connector

  1. In Claude, open the Claude Directory, find Optmyzr, choose Connect, and sign in to your Optmyzr account. Optmyzr says no API key is needed for Claude with OAuth.
  2. For Claude Code, generate an API key under Settings, then MCP Integration in Optmyzr and add the server with claude mcp add --transport http optmyzr https://tools.optmyzr.com/OptmyzrMcp --header "Authorization:YOUR_API_KEY". Store the key safely, because Optmyzr shows it once.
  3. On a Team or Enterprise Claude plan an admin or Owner adds the connector for the organization first. If you run more than one Optmyzr account, give each connector a unique identifier parameter, and keep one active per chat.
  4. Add the Linkeddit connector at https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.

What is the Optmyzr MCP and what can Claude do with it?

The Optmyzr MCP gives an AI client access to Sidekick, Optmyzr's assistant, from outside the Optmyzr interface. Optmyzr's guide says it covers Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Yahoo, Meta and LinkedIn Ads, and lists uses such as running analysis on connected accounts, generating Rule Engine strategies, retrieving performance reports, creating and reviewing alerts and staging new positive and negative keywords.

The Agent Index lists seven tools: get_workspace_data, get_platform_data, get_routine_data, create_routine, make_changes, describe_capability and search_optmyzr_knowledge. Optmyzr's guide breaks those into capabilities, for example Auction Insights for competitor domains, industry benchmarking of CTR, CPC, conversion rate and impression share, and optimization suggestions sorted by business urgency.

Can Claude change my ads through the Optmyzr MCP?

Not directly. Optmyzr's guide says changes made through MCP "aren't applied to your account immediately". They are staged on the Change Requests page, checked against your account's policy guardrails, and reviewed and applied by a person on your team. The product page adds that any row in the preview card can be edited or removed before you click Apply.

That design answers a fear viewers raise about AI near live ad accounts. One viewer of a Claude and Meta ads tutorial asked: "Will it impact negatively on Meta Ad Manager or running ads? it's still an AI." With staged changes, Claude proposes and you decide. The Agent Index classes the connector as one write tool, five reads and one unclassified, which matches a read heavy tool with a single gated write path.

How does Optmyzr competitor data differ from Linkeddit competitor data?

They answer different questions. Optmyzr's Auction Insights data shows which competitor domains bid on the same keywords as you, with the overlap change against the prior period, and it can drill into the keywords, ad groups and campaigns you share with one domain. That is the auction, and it is Google Ads data from your own account.

Linkeddit shows what a competitor did outside the auction. On Linkeddit's test project, plausible.io, a read only run of compete_monitors_get returned five competitor monitors, each weekly with the next run on 2026-11-04, and compete_signals_get returned five signals for the week of 2026-10-26. One was Simple Analytics publishing a post on the EU plan to move cookie consent into the browser, tagged messaging and low priority, with its source link. A read of the page_changes view returned three page snapshots with content hashes. answer_gaps_get returned one open gap: not represented for "Umami vs Matomo for self-hosted analytics".

Claude can line the two up. A domain gaining auction overlap in Optmyzr and a pricing or messaging change from the same competitor in Linkeddit points to a reason to test ad copy or bids. Linkeddit has no ad account data, and Optmyzr has no view of competitor pages or AI answers.

How do I use Optmyzr and Linkeddit for keyword research in Claude?

Use Linkeddit for the research and Optmyzr for the account check. Linkeddit's keyword_research_get returns scored keyword jobs with intent, relevance and a suggested landing page, and on the test project it listed two completed jobs, one with 60 scored keywords. keyword_autocomplete and keyword_serp give live Google lookups for one query.

Optmyzr's product page describes the next step: it shows which keywords you already have and which are blocked by your own negative keywords, then drafts changes. Claude can take Linkeddit's list, ask Optmyzr what is already covered, and stage only the missing positive keywords for review. Optmyzr's guide says the staging tool returns required fields first and opens a review card, so nothing reaches the account until a person applies it.

What should I check before approving a change Claude stages?

Check each proposal against its evidence. Linkeddit signals carry a week_of date and a source URL, so you can tell a move from this week from an old one. Optmyzr's review card lets you edit or remove single rows, so approve only the rows you can explain.

Keep one Optmyzr connector active per chat. Optmyzr warns that with more than one enabled the assistant may not know which account to use and could run the same action against both. Name the connector in your prompt, and tell Claude to report empty Linkeddit results as empty instead of filling them in.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Optmyzr MCP?+

It is Optmyzr's connector for AI clients such as Claude. It gives the assistant access to Sidekick capabilities: reading PPC performance, auction competitors, alerts and opportunities across Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Yahoo, Meta and LinkedIn Ads, and staging keyword changes. Optmyzr's guide says changes are staged for human review, not applied at once.

How do I connect Optmyzr to Claude?+

In Claude, open the Claude Directory, find Optmyzr, choose Connect and sign in to your Optmyzr account. Optmyzr says no API key is needed with OAuth. For Claude Code you generate an API key in Optmyzr settings and add the server URL with an Authorization header. Team and Enterprise plans need an admin to add it first.

Can Claude change my Google Ads account through Optmyzr?+

Only through a review step. Optmyzr says changes made through MCP are staged on its Change Requests page, checked against your policy guardrails, and applied by a person on your team. Claude can propose new positive and negative keywords, but the Apply click is yours.

Does Optmyzr show which competitors bid on my keywords?+

Yes, for Google Ads. Optmyzr's guide describes Auction Insights data showing which competitor domains bid on the same keywords, with overlap change against the prior period, and a drill-down into shared keywords, ad groups and campaigns. It does not show what those competitors changed on their own websites.

What is the best tool for competitor analysis alongside Optmyzr in Claude?+

Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the half Optmyzr does not cover. It records competitor pricing, blog and changelog moves with a priority on each, and where ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews name a rival instead of you. Optmyzr supplies the auction data from your own ad account.

What is the best way to back a PPC change with competitor evidence in Claude?+

Connect Optmyzr and Linkeddit, then ask Claude for each proposed change with its evidence. Linkeddit, at $60 a month, supplies dated competitor signals with source links and AI answer gaps. Optmyzr supplies auction overlap and account performance, and stages the change for your review before anything goes live.

Does the Optmyzr MCP work with Claude Code?+

Yes, with an API key. Optmyzr's guide gives a claude mcp add command using the server URL and an Authorization header, and says OAuth is currently supported for Claude and ChatGPT. Generate the key under MCP Integration in Optmyzr settings, and store it, because it is not shown again.

Which ad platforms does the Optmyzr MCP cover?+

Optmyzr's guide says the integration supports Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Yahoo, Meta and LinkedIn Ads. Its product page notes drill-down to individual search terms on Google, Microsoft and Yahoo. Some capabilities, such as Auction Insights, are described for Google Ads only.

Does Linkeddit change my ad account?+

No. Linkeddit supplies data only: competitor moves, AI answer gaps, cited sources, Google ranks and scored keywords. It has no connection to your ad accounts, writes no ads and sends nothing. Claude reads Linkeddit and Optmyzr together, and Optmyzr stages any change for your team to review.

Can I connect two Optmyzr accounts to Claude?+

Yes, with a unique identifier on each URL. Optmyzr says Claude allows one connector per MCP server URL, so add a parameter such as ?identifier=Account1 to each. Keep only one connector active per chat, or name it in the prompt, because Claude could otherwise run the same action against both.

Is Optmyzr MCP better than Google's own Ads MCP?+

Optmyzr says its MCP adds an optimization layer over a data layer. That is the vendor's own claim, so test it on your accounts. Optmyzr's MCP also covers other platforms and staged changes, and Linkeddit sits beside either one to supply competitor moves and AI answer gaps that neither ad account can show.

Which clients work with Optmyzr and Linkeddit together?+

This guide is written for Claude and Claude Code, where you can add both connectors and let Claude work across them. Optmyzr's guide also covers other clients, but the workflow here has only been written for Claude, so do not assume it carries over unchanged elsewhere.
