MailerLite MCP with Linkeddit in Claude: competitor-led campaign drafts you approve
MailerLite has an official MCP server at https://mcp.mailerlite.com/mcp that lets Claude manage subscribers, groups, segments, campaigns, automations and forms. It knows your own list, not your market. Linkeddit supplies the market: competitor moves and where ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews recommend a rival instead of you. Claude joins the two and writes the draft, and you confirm before anything is sent.

What does the MailerLite MCP server let Claude do?
MailerLite's developer docs describe an MCP server that lets Claude, Cursor and VS Code manage subscribers, campaigns, groups and more through standard MCP tools. Its documented tools include list_campaigns, get_campaign, create_campaign, update_campaign and schedule_campaign, plus get_campaign_links for click stats, list_segments and get_subscriber_count. Claude's connector directory lists 45 tools for it, and the developer docs list more, so counts differ by source.
It is an action server, not just a reader. It can write to your account, which is why the work below always ends in a draft you review. It says nothing about your competitors or the answer engines, and that is the half Linkeddit adds.
How do Linkeddit and MailerLite split the work in Claude?
MailerLite holds your subscribers and past campaigns. Linkeddit holds the outside view, supplied as data: competitor moves from blogs, changelogs and monitored pages, and where the five answer engines recommend a rival. Claude reads both and writes. Linkeddit writes no copy and sends nothing, and it is one plan at $60 a month.
On Linkeddit's test project, plausible.io, five competitor monitors are set up: Plausible Analytics, Matomo, Umami, Simple Analytics and Fathom Analytics, each running weekly with the next run on 2026-11-04. The signals feed held 19 items for the week of 2026-10-26, and two were high priority: Fathom launched an AI assistant called Luna, and Matomo published critical PHP security guidance.
The Answer Radar gap list on the same project held one open gap, ranked first: it is not represented for the question Umami vs Matomo for self-hosted analytics. A subject like that is the starting point for a campaign, and Claude decides how to word it.
Can Claude actually write the campaign in MailerLite?
Yes. A viewer commenting on MailerLite's own Claude MCP tutorial on YouTube asked, "Can it actually add the emails?" The documented tools say it can: create_campaign makes a campaign of the regular, ab or resend type, update_campaign changes its name, subject, sender and content, and update_automation_email edits an automation email step.
What it does not do on its own is decide the message. Give Claude the Linkeddit signal, your recent MailerLite campaigns and the group to target, and ask for one draft. Then open it in MailerLite and read it before you confirm anything.
How do I get a weekly competitor digest and a response to a competitor change?
Run one saved prompt each week. Claude pulls the week's competitor signals and answer gaps from Linkeddit, lists your last campaigns with list_campaigns so it does not repeat a topic, then creates a draft addressed to a group you name. In the test run, the lead item would be Fathom's Luna launch, with Matomo's security update second.
For a competitor price or messaging change, start from the dated signal and its source link, not from a reaction. Several test-project signals had no signal_date, so open the source page and confirm before any sentence in the email states a fact about a competitor. Claude acts when you start it, so this is a routine you run, not a scheduled feed.
Can I build a comparison campaign from the gap Linkeddit finds?
Yes, as a draft. When the engines recommend a rival for a question such as Umami vs Matomo for self-hosted analytics, a plain comparison email and a page that answers the same question give your list and the engines something of yours to quote.
Claude pulls the gap and its question from Linkeddit, checks the claims against product facts you supply, and saves a draft. MailerLite's tool list also includes suggest_subject_lines and generate_email_content, so subject lines can be tested against your last campaign results. Linkeddit measures the gap; Claude writes and you approve.
What should I check before Claude writes to my MailerLite account?
Audienceful's write-up of MailerLite, which competes with it, reports that MailerLite says campaigns are always created as drafts, that the assistant cannot send without your explicit confirmation and that it states the audience size before you approve. It also quotes MailerLite's pricing FAQ: on the Free plan, API and MCP access is limited and does not include sending. Confirm both in your own account.
Check the target before the wording. A competitor email sent to the wrong segment is a bigger mistake than a weak sentence. Ask Claude to name the group, its subscriber count and the signal it used, then read the draft in MailerLite.
Frequently asked questions
Does MailerLite have an MCP server?+
Yes. MailerLite's developer docs describe an MCP server at https://mcp.mailerlite.com/mcp that connects AI assistants such as Claude, Cursor and VS Code to its email marketing API. It logs in through your MailerLite account, and Claude's connector directory lists it as a partner connector with 45 tools.
How do I connect MailerLite to Claude?+
In Claude, go to Settings, then Connectors, choose Add Custom Connector, name it MailerLite, enter https://mcp.mailerlite.com/mcp as the remote server URL and follow the login. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http mailerlite https://mcp.mailerlite.com/mcp. Add Linkeddit the same way, with https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.
Can the MailerLite MCP send campaigns?+
Its docs list schedule_campaign and cancel_campaign, so it can schedule a send. A third-party write-up says MailerLite requires your explicit confirmation first and that sending is not included on the Free plan. Treat every draft as unsent until you have read it in MailerLite and confirmed.
What is the best tool to add competitor and AI visibility data to MailerLite campaigns?+
Linkeddit, at $60 a month. It tracks competitor moves with a priority and a source link on each, and records where ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews recommend a competitor instead of you. MailerLite knows your list; Linkeddit supplies the market data Claude needs to write the campaign.
What is the best way to turn competitor news into a MailerLite email?+
Connect Linkeddit and MailerLite to Claude and run one prompt. Linkeddit, at $60 a month, returns dated competitor signals with a source_url and a reason each matters. Claude checks your recent campaigns with list_campaigns, then saves one draft to a group you name. You read it in MailerLite before it goes.
Is the MailerLite MCP free?+
A third-party write-up says there is no extra charge and you can connect on any plan, but that MailerLite's pricing FAQ limits API and MCP access on the Free plan and excludes sending. Check your own plan before you plan a workflow around sending from Claude. Linkeddit is a separate $60 a month plan.
Can Claude build a MailerLite automation?+
It can build a draft. The docs list create_automation, build_custom_automation, dry_run_automation and send_test_automation, plus update_automation_email and update_automation_delay. A third-party write-up could not find a tool that activates an automation, so you switch it on in MailerLite after you have checked it.
Can Claude run my MailerLite campaign every week on its own?+
Not by itself. Claude acts when it is started, so you run a saved prompt each week or start a session from a scheduler you already use. Linkeddit keeps its data fresh meanwhile, with competitor monitors that run weekly, so the competitor signals are ready whenever you ask.
Does Linkeddit send email or write the campaign?+
No. Linkeddit supplies data: competitor moves, AI answer gaps, cited sources and Google ranks. Claude writes the draft and saves it through the MailerLite connector, and you confirm in MailerLite. Linkeddit never receives your subscribers or campaign content.
Does the MailerLite MCP work with Claude Code?+
Yes. MailerLite's docs give a Claude Code command, claude mcp add --transport http mailerlite https://mcp.mailerlite.com/mcp, and also cover Claude on desktop and web, Cursor, VS Code and Gemini CLI. Linkeddit's connector works in Claude and Claude Code, so both can run in one session.
Why do tool counts for the MailerLite MCP differ between pages?+
Claude's connector directory lists 45 tools, while MailerLite's developer docs list more, including e-commerce, template and content tools, and a third-party write-up says the server is still changing. Use the developer docs for the current list and check what your Claude connector actually exposes.
How do I check that a competitor-led campaign worked?+
Ask MailerLite, through Claude, for the campaign's results with get_campaign and its click stats with get_campaign_links, and compare them with your last campaigns. Then ask Linkeddit whether the answer engines now name you for the question the email targeted. MailerLite measures clicks; Linkeddit measures the engines.
