Lucidchart and Linkeddit in Claude: competitor analysis diagrams from real data

A Lucidchart competitor analysis usually starts from a template that is empty until someone researches it. The Lucid connector lets Claude search, create, share and export Lucid diagrams, but it has no data about your market. Linkeddit supplies the data: competitor moves from blogs, changelogs and monitored pages, and where ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews recommend a competitor instead of you. Claude draws the diagram in Lucid, and you edit it there.

What you can do with Lucid and Linkeddit

How do the Lucid connector and Linkeddit split the work?

The Lucid connector is the drawing side. Its listing shows 11 tools: 7 writes, 3 reads and 1 the listing does not classify. It can search and fetch documents, create diagrams, mind maps, org charts and sequence diagrams, make a share link, share with collaborators and export a PNG. It cannot tell you what a competitor launched this week.

Linkeddit is the data side. Compete tracks competitor moves with a priority on each, and Answer Radar records which brands the five engines name and recommend. Both come with one plan at $60 a month. Linkeddit writes no diagram and shares nothing, so your own assistant decides what belongs in the picture.

What is a competitor analysis diagram built from real data?

It is a Lucid diagram whose boxes come from measured signals instead of a workshop. On Linkeddit's test project, the weekly brief covered 5 monitored competitors and counted 2 high priority moves, 9 worth watching and 8 low signal, each with a reason and a source link. Claude places them under each competitor, grouped by priority.

Lucid's own competitor analysis template, made with Product School, is a competitive matrix with prompts such as what makes your product unique and how you can improve. Keep that structure for the discussion, and let the data fill the cells. The step by step page covers the prompt and the exact tools.

Can Lucid show where AI engines recommend a competitor?

Yes, as a diagram Claude draws from Answer Radar data. Claude reads the audit results with answer_results_get, then calls lucid_create_diagram_from_specification to map each buying question to the brands each engine named. The questions where an engine named a competitor and not you become the first row.

Lucid says its server builds static diagrams only. So this is a snapshot with a date in the title, not a live dashboard, and Claude has to be asked again for the next one. If an audit finished partial, which answer_runs_get shows in each run's status, the diagram should say so in a note.

How do I turn the competitor diagram into a battlecard?

Add one row to the diagram with the line a seller should use against each competitor, written by you. Linkeddit returns the evidence for that row: sourced competitor moves from compete_brief_get and, through compete_signals_get, stored customer reviews. Claude cites each source link in the box instead of summarizing from memory.

Lucid's template gallery covers the layout, and the data is what ages. Rerun the prompt before each quarterly review, ask Claude to find the previous diagram with the search tool, and have it mark what changed. Web Tonic suggests battlecards be refreshed monthly for sales teams.

Why start from data instead of a blank template?

A blank template makes you the researcher. Web Tonic's guide to competitive analysis templates says most competitive work fails on consistency, not effort: teams research one rival deeply, skim two and guess at the rest. Its fix is the same facts, gathered the same way, for every competitor, and dated.

That is what a tracked feed gives you. Linkeddit's monitors run weekly on the test project, with a next run of 2026-11-04 for all five, so every competitor arrives with the same fields: a category, a priority, a reason it matters and a source link. Claude puts them in the same boxes each time, which keeps the diagrams comparable from one week to the next.

It also protects the audience. A diagram made from sourced signals can be checked, while one made from a brainstorm gets argued about. Open the source link on any box and you see the changelog or blog post the move came from.

A diagram of competitor names is not the goal. A Claude user on Reddit put it this way: "Real competitive intelligence is not a list of names." Starting from data is how each shape gets evidence.

What should I check before Claude shares a diagram?

Check the sharing tools before anything else. The Lucid connector lists lucid_create_document_share_link and share_document_with_collaborators, and the second can give edit rights to an email address. The prompts here call only a view-only link, and say not to share with anyone else.

Then check the content. A diagram that quotes competitor moves goes wrong if Claude misreads a changelog, so open each source link before it goes to a wider team. Lucid says the connector reaches only documents you can already open, and that on Team and Enterprise accounts an admin must enable it.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Lucidchart competitor analysis template?+

Yes. Lucid has a competitor analysis template, made with Product School, that is a competitive matrix, plus competitive analysis, product competitive analysis and feature market analysis templates. They are layouts you fill in by hand. With the Lucid and Linkeddit connectors, Claude can draw a diagram filled from measured competitor moves instead.

What is the best tool for competitor analysis in Lucidchart?+

Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the data, with the Lucid connector for the drawing. Linkeddit tracks each competitor's moves with a priority and a reason, and records where ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews recommend them over you. Claude draws the result in Lucid for you to edit.

Can Claude create diagrams in Lucid?+

Yes. The Lucid connector lists lucid_create_diagram_from_specification, lucid_create_mind_map, lucid_create_org_chart and lucid_create_sequence_diagram, plus search and fetch for existing documents, so Claude can also reopen an older diagram. Lucid notes that the diagrams it builds are static versions and do not update when your source data changes later.

How do I connect Lucid to Claude?+

Install the Lucid connector from Claude's connector directory and approve access. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http lucid https://mcp.lucid.app/mcp, then /mcp to authorize. On a Team or Enterprise Lucid account an admin must enable MCP access first.

What is the best way to show AI visibility in a Lucid diagram?+

Use Linkeddit for the measurement and Lucid for the picture. Linkeddit, at $60 a month, records which brands ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews name for your buying questions. Claude reads answer_results_get and draws one diagram of the questions where a competitor was named instead of you.

Does the Lucid diagram update on its own?+

No. Lucid says its MCP server creates a static version only and cannot create data-linked diagrams that refresh. Linkeddit's competitor monitors run weekly on their own, so the data is fresh, but you rerun the prompt for a new diagram and put the date in its title.

Can I use the Lucid connector with ChatGPT?+

Lucid lists a ChatGPT plugin and other clients in its help article. The workflows on these pages have only been written and checked for Claude and Claude Code, so do not assume they carry over to other assistants without changes.

Does Linkeddit draw the diagram?+

No. Linkeddit supplies data: competitor moves, complaint themes, AI answer gaps, cited sources and Google ranks. Claude reads that data and draws through the Lucid connector under your own Lucid sign-in. Linkeddit never receives your Lucid documents, so nothing you draw leaves Lucid.

Can Claude read my existing Lucid documents?+

Yes. The Lucid connector lists search and fetch, so Claude can find and read documents your account can open. Lucid says it cannot see documents owned by users outside your account. Use that to compare a new diagram against last quarter's.

Can Claude export the diagram as an image?+

Yes. The Lucid connector lists lucid_export_document_as_PNG, so Claude can export a diagram as a PNG for a slide or an email. Lucid's community post lists exporting as PNG among supported actions. Check the diagram first, because the image carries every box exactly as drawn.
