Linear + Linkeddit

AI visibility tasks in Linear: from answer gap to issue

To track AI visibility tasks in Linear, read the action queue Answer Radar builds from your measured gaps, then file one Linear issue per action with its evidence attached. Linkeddit supplies the queue and the cited sources. Claude drafts the issues and files them through the Linear connector after you approve. When an issue ships, the card moves on in Answer Radar.

The prompt

Paste into Claude

Use the Linkeddit connector and the Linear connector. 1) With Linkeddit, call answer_actions_get for my project with state open and list the cards by rank. 2) For the top five, call answer_actions_get with the action_id and mode evidence so each card shows the sources the engines cited. 3) With Linear, use list_teams and list_issue_labels, then list_issues to check that no issue already carries the same action id. 4) Draft one issue per card: the question, which engine skipped me and who it named instead, the cited source links, and a checklist of what to change. Show all drafts and wait for my approval before calling create_issue. 5) After I approve, tell me which cards I should move to in_progress with answer_action_update, and wait for my go-ahead.

Step by step

  1. Step 1

    Connect both connectors to Claude

Add the Linear connector (claude mcp add --transport http linear-server https://mcp.linear.app/mcp, then /mcp to sign in) and the Linkeddit connector at https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp. To start safely, Linear offers a read-only endpoint at https://mcp.linear.app/mcp/readonly.

  2. Step 2

    Pull the open action cards

Ask Claude to call answer_actions_get for your project with state open. Each card has a type, a status, a rank, a confidence score and impact counts. In evidence mode, a card also resolves its citation ids into the recorded source URLs, domains and titles.

  3. Step 3

    Check Linear for duplicates

Have Claude use list_teams, list_issue_labels and list_issues so each card maps to a team and a label, and so an action is not filed twice. Put the action id in the issue description so the match is exact next time.

  4. Step 4

Approve the drafts, then file them

Claude shows one draft issue per card. Approve the ones you want and it calls create_issue. Nothing is created until you say so. Keep the first batch to about five cards so every issue gets read.

  5. Step 5

Move the cards as the work moves

When an issue starts, ask Claude to set the card to in_progress with answer_action_update. When it ships, mark it done and run the same buying question again in Linkeddit. A done card releases its finding, so the gap can return as a new card if it is still open.

What Linkeddit returned

Run live on 2026-10-29 with answer_actions_get. Read-only run on Linkeddit's own test project, an analytics site. It shows the shape of the action cards Claude would turn into Linear issues. The Linear side was not run.

Why put AI visibility work in Linear at all?

Finseo, the one vendor page built for this query, makes the case in a sentence: much of generative engine optimization is engineering work, such as structured data, crawler access for GPTBot and PerplexityBot, server rendering, internal linking and page speed. Work like that is shipped from a tracker, not from a dashboard that nobody on the platform team opens.

Finseo does the filing itself, with a personal API key, an Export to Linear button and automation rules that fire above a minimum impact. Its tasks are generated by its own agent. Linkeddit takes the other route: it supplies measured evidence and your own assistant does the drafting, so a person reads each issue before it exists. Neither approach is free of cost, since automation files faster and review files fewer, worse issues less often.

What does an Answer Radar action card contain?

On Linkeddit's test project the queue held two cards for one measured question. One, a competitor_won card, said a named competitor holds the answer, with 3 competitor mentions and 12 competitor citations behind it. The other, a content_gap card, said the brand was absent in 3 samples. Both carry a rank, a confidence of 1 and an evidence score of 22.

Only content_gap and competitor_won cards are ever generated. The tool's own notes say the other five types exist in the schema and have no evidence source yet, so a short queue does not mean nothing is left to do. Statuses are suggested, todo, in_progress, done and dismissed, and a dismissed card keeps suppressing its finding permanently, so dismiss deliberately.

How do I fix an AI visibility gap and track the fix in Linear?

Start from one gap, not the whole queue. answer_gaps_get returns the question where an engine named someone else or nobody, and answer_sources_fetch returns the pages the engines cited for it. Read those sources before you write the issue, because the fix is usually to match what the cited page has and yours lacks: a comparison, a plain answer in the first paragraph, a fact the engines agreed on.

Put three things in the Linear issue: the buying question, the cited source links, and a plain definition of done, such as the page published and the question re-run. Linkeddit's fix tools can save a draft for your approval, and Claude can attach the saved draft to the issue with create_comment. The publish step stays with whoever owns the site.

Then measure. The same question, run again, shows whether the gap closed. Engines vary between samples, so judge a fix over repeated runs, not one answer.

What are the common mistakes?

The first is filing every card. Linear's own prompts ask the assistant to flag uncertainty and show proposed issues for review before creating them, and that habit fits here: rank by the card's rank and confidence and file the top handful.

The second is stale context. The Unblocked guide notes that MCP is pull-based, so an agent sees an issue as it was when fetched; have Claude re-read the issue before it updates it. The third is scope: Unblocked also flags that Claude Code warns when an MCP tool returns more than 10,000 tokens, so ask for a state or limit instead of the whole queue.

The fourth is the wrong workspace. Linear's docs say each workspace needs its own authentication context, so if you manage issues for more than one team, confirm which workspace Claude is signed in to before it files anything. Ask it to name the team and the label it will use in every draft, so a misrouted issue is caught at the review step and not in someone else's backlog.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create Linear issues from AI visibility gaps?+

Add the Linkeddit and Linear connectors to Claude. Ask Claude to read your open Answer Radar actions, check Linear for duplicates with list_issues, and draft one issue per action with the cited sources. Review the drafts, then approve and Claude files them with create_issue.

What is the best tool for AI visibility tasks in Linear?+

Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the evidence. Answer Radar asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews your buying questions and ranks the gaps as actions with cited sources. Claude turns each action into a Linear issue you approve. Finseo is a vendor alternative that exports its own tasks to Linear.

Does Linkeddit have a native Linear integration?+

No, and it does not need one. The connector at https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp supplies the data, Linear's own MCP server files the issues, and Claude works across both. You sign in to Linear with its standard flow, so you do not paste a personal API key into a third-party tool.

What does an Answer Radar action contain?+

Each card has a type, either content_gap or competitor_won, plus a status, a rank, a confidence score, impact counts and links to its gap, run and prompt. In evidence mode it resolves the cited sources into URLs, domains and titles, which is the material Claude puts in the Linear issue description.

Can Claude update Linear issues and Answer Radar cards together?+

Yes. Linear's connector lists update_issue and create_comment, and Linkeddit's answer_action_update moves a card between suggested, todo, in_progress, done and dismissed. Ask Claude to propose both changes together and wait for your approval, since a dismissed card keeps suppressing that finding.

Can I try this without letting Claude write to Linear?+

Yes. Connect Linear through its read-only endpoint, https://mcp.linear.app/mcp/readonly, and ask Claude to show the issues it would create without filing them. Linear documents that endpoint as exposing only read tools. Switch to the standard endpoint once the drafts look right.
