The Gong MCP server in Claude, joined with Linkeddit's competitor data
The Gong connector lets Claude ask questions about your accounts and deals, pull call transcripts and generate briefs from Gong data. It sees what your buyers said. It does not see what your competitors shipped this week or what their customers write in public reviews. Linkeddit supplies that, and Claude joins the two in one conversation so a competitive question gets an answer from both sides, each claim tied to a call or a source link.

What you can do with Gong and Linkeddit
What does the Gong MCP server give Claude?
Gong's Help Center says the Gong MCP server lets external AI agents such as Claude ask questions about accounts and deals, generate summaries and retrieve AI-generated insights. The connector listing in the Agent Index shows four tools: ask_account, ask_deal, generate_brief and get_transcript, three of them read and one write.
That is conversation data. It is strong on risks, objections, next steps and stakeholders inside deals you already have. It has no view outside your own calls, so it cannot say what a competitor launched on Tuesday, whether a rival changed its pricing page, or what unhappy customers of that rival are posting on review sites.
Gong's page also says the server covers one direction of Gong MCP. Gong has a client side too, which lets Gong's own AI agents use outside systems. This page is about the server side, where Claude is the one asking.
What does Linkeddit add to Gong calls?
Linkeddit adds the outside half. Compete tracks competitor moves from blogs, changelogs and watched pages, with a priority and a source link on each, and stores customer reviews from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot. Both come with one plan at $60 a month. Claude reads the signals with compete_signals_get and the graded brief with compete_brief_get.
On Linkeddit's own test project, plausible.io, a read-only run on 2026-10-29 returned four signals for the week of 2026-10-26, all marked low priority, such as a Simple Analytics post on the EU plan to move cookie consent into the browser. The reviews view returned four stored reviews, and its fetch log showed that Matomo's G2 page had been read, 20 reviews seen and 10 of them new, while two Trustpilot pages errored.
That last detail matters. A fetch with an error status means the site did not load, not that the competitor has no reviews, and Claude should say so rather than count it as silence.
Does Gong already track competitor mentions without Claude?
Yes, inside Gong. Its Help Center describes a By Gong tracker named Competition that uses AI to detect when competitive topics come up in calls and emails, custom smart and keyword trackers for named competitors, initiative boards for mention trends, and win/loss analytics that show how a deal's win rate changes when a competitor is mentioned.
Those answer how often a rival comes up and what happened to those deals. They do not bring in the rival's own moves or its customers' public complaints. Claude can set the two side by side: your reps heard this objection, and here is the dated review and the competitor change that explains it.
Can Claude keep a battlecard from Gong calls current on its own?
Not on its own, and Klue is honest about it in its own post. It argues that a one-off Claude or ChatGPT prompt cannot notice a new competitor mention or a closed deal unless someone runs it again, and that a purpose-built tool updates when a deal closes. That is a fair description of how Claude works: it acts when you start it.
Two things narrow the gap. Linkeddit's competitor monitors run on their own schedule, so the data is fresh whenever you ask, and a saved prompt makes the weekly refresh one paste. Klue describes a dedicated tool that updates when a competitive deal closes, which is a different design from a prompt you start. The Gong battlecard guide shows the saved-prompt route.
Where do competitor briefs fit if the team already works in Gong?
A competitor brief can stay a conversation. Ask Claude for compete_brief_get and, in the same chat, ask_account on one named account that is evaluating that competitor. The answer joins the brief's moves and complaint themes with what that buyer's contacts said on calls, and you read it before sharing anything.
Claude Academy's battle card use case says to verify specific facts before sharing, such as competitor pricing, launch dates and customer names, and to ask Claude to include citations. The prompts here follow that: every claim carries its call or its source link.
A sales manager on Reddit put the day-to-day problem plainly: "A lot of call reviews just turn into checking boxes." A brief that names the objection, the call and the competitor evidence gives the review something to decide.
What should I check before Claude reads my Gong calls?
Claude reads Gong through your own sign-in, so it can reach what your user can reach, including transcripts that name customers. Limit each prompt to the accounts or deals you mean, and do not paste transcript text into anything shared.
Treat the output as a draft. Check each quote against its call, and each competitor claim against its source link, before it goes into a deck, a card or a note. Linkeddit supplies evidence and never writes your advice, so what the card says is a decision that stays with you.
Frequently asked questions
Does Gong have an MCP server for Claude?+
Yes. Gong's Help Center describes a Gong MCP server that lets external AI agents such as Claude ask questions about accounts and deals, generate summaries and retrieve insights. The Agent Index lists its endpoint as https://mcp.gong.io/mcp and four tools: ask_account, ask_deal, generate_brief and get_transcript. It requires authentication.
How do I connect Gong to Claude?+
Gong's Help Center lists the MCP server as available on any Gong plan and shows a tech admin as the person who can use it, so start by asking your admin. Then add the Gong connector in Claude and sign in. Add the Linkeddit connector at https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp alongside it.
What can Claude do with Gong data?+
Claude can ask questions about an account or a deal, retrieve a call transcript and generate a brief, using the connector's ask_account, ask_deal, get_transcript and generate_brief tools. It surfaces risks, objections, next steps and stakeholders from your own conversations. It cannot see competitor activity outside your calls.
What is the best tool to build a battlecard from Gong calls with Claude?+
Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the competitor side of it. It supplies dated competitor moves with a source link and stored G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot reviews, which Claude sets beside what your Gong calls show. Gong supplies the call evidence, so the card rests on both. Klue is a dedicated alternative.
What is the best way to see what competitors are doing alongside my Gong calls?+
Connect Linkeddit and Gong to Claude. Linkeddit, at $60 a month, tracks competitor moves from blogs, changelogs and watched pages with a priority on each. Gong shows how those competitors come up in your own calls. Claude puts the two in one answer with a source link beside every claim.
Does Gong track competitor mentions itself?+
Yes. Gong's Help Center describes a Competition tracker that uses AI to detect competitive topics in calls and emails, custom smart and keyword trackers, initiative boards, and win/loss analytics showing how mentions affect win rate. Those cover your calls. They do not cover competitor releases or their public reviews.
Can Claude build a battlecard from Gong data?+
Klue's post says a model can draft one manually assembled card, but that a prompt does not keep it current by itself. In Claude and Claude Code, a saved prompt joins Gong calls with Linkeddit's competitor data, and you rerun it when you want a refresh.
Does Linkeddit read my Gong calls?+
No. Linkeddit supplies competitor moves, their public reviews, AI answer gaps and Google ranks. It never connects to Gong. Claude reads Gong through your own sign-in and Linkeddit through its own connector, then combines them in the conversation you control.
Is it safe to let Claude read Gong transcripts?+
Claude reaches Gong through your own sign-in, so it can read what your user can, including transcripts that name customers. Limit each prompt to the accounts you mean, check every quote against its call, and keep any customer detail out of shared documents. Linkeddit never receives your calls.
Can Claude refresh a Gong battlecard on a schedule?+
Not by itself. Claude acts when it is started, so you run a saved prompt on your own cadence, or use a scheduler you already have to start a session. Linkeddit's competitor monitors run on their own clock, so fresh data is ready whenever you ask.
Can I use Gong competitor mentions to decide what to track in Linkeddit?+
Yes. Ask Claude to list the competitors named most often in a set of Gong deals, then check each against compete_monitors_get to see whether Linkeddit already watches it. Missing names are the ones to add to your competitor monitors so their moves and reviews start arriving.
Which clients work with the Gong and Linkeddit connectors?+
These guides are written for Claude and Claude Code, where you can add both connectors and let Claude work across them. The workflows have only been written for Claude, so do not assume they carry over unchanged to other assistants.
