Front and Linkeddit in Claude: set your customers' conversations against competitor reviews and moves

Front's MCP server lets Claude search and read the conversations in your shared inbox, draft replies, leave internal comments and tag or assign conversations, acting as the signed-in teammate. Linkeddit adds what Front cannot see: stored public competitor reviews, competitor moves from blogs and changelogs, and where AI answer engines recommend a competitor instead of you. Claude sets the two side by side, and you review any draft or comment before it goes out.

Connect both

Linkeddit connector

Add https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp as a connector and sign in. Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http linkeddit https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.

Setup guide

Front connector

  1. Add Front from the Claude connector directory. Front says a Front admin, or a user allowed to install from the Front App Store, must connect first, then each teammate connects their own account.
  2. If your company manages Claude, your IT or business systems team may need to allow the Front connector before it appears.
  3. Add the Linkeddit connector at https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.
  4. Tell Claude which inbox and which period to read before it starts.

What can the Front connector do in Claude?

Front's help center says its MCP server lets you search and read conversations across every channel (email, SMS, chat, custom), draft and send replies on the conversation's native channel, read and post internal comments, tag, assign and change status, search and update contacts, and see teammates, inboxes and teams. The Agent Index listing counts 23 tools, 15 reads and 8 writes, including search_conversations, read_conversation, create_draft, add_comment and tag_conversation.

Front's own example prompts include triaging an inbox and extracting themes: "Look at the 50 most recent conversations in the Support inbox. Group them by topic and tell me which themes are growing fastest week-over-week." Front's help center describes the connector as respecting each user's permissions, so Claude can only do what your role already allows.

It has one blind spot. It sees your conversations, so it can tell you what customers say about you but not what they say about a competitor on a review site, and not what the competitor shipped last week.

What does Linkeddit add to a shared inbox?

Linkeddit is the outside view. Compete tracks competitor moves from blogs, changelogs and monitored pages with a priority on each, and stores public competitor reviews as the review sites show them. Answer Radar records which brands ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews name when buyers ask. All three come with one plan at $60 a month, and Linkeddit writes no advice of its own.

On Linkeddit's test project, plausible.io, a read-only compete_signals_get run with the reviews view on 2026-10-29 returned 24 stored competitor reviews with rating, text, date and source link. One 1-star Trustpilot review, dated 2026-03-23, is titled "Poor support quality, contradictory answers, unresolved issue for 2+ weeks". The signals view returned 19 competitor moves, and compete_brief_get returned an empty brief, which Claude should say rather than fill in.

That is the shape of the use: your inbox holds what your own customers ask for, and the stored reviews hold what customers of a competitor complain about.

How do I compare customer conversations with competitor reviews?

Start with the question, not the tool. Pick one theme your support team hears often, such as setup time, support responsiveness or a missing integration, and ask Claude to count how often it appears in a defined slice of Front, for example the last 50 conversations in one inbox.

Then ask Claude to read Linkeddit's stored reviews for the competitors you monitor and report how often the same theme appears, quoting the review and its link. Keep the sample sizes in the answer. Fifty conversations and a handful of reviews describe a pattern worth checking, not a market.

Where the two disagree you get a useful lead. If your customers rarely raise a theme that a competitor's reviewers raise constantly, that is a positioning point for sales and for your pages. If your customers raise a theme the competitor's reviewers do not, look at your own product first.

A viewer on a YouTube video about Front wrote that their small customer service team shares a mailbox "in a very old-fashioned way" and that Front "looks to go one step further than a traditional shared mailbox." Those shared conversations are the customer side of the comparison in this section.

Should Claude send replies, or only draft and comment?

Draft and comment. The Front connector lists create_draft and add_comment as separate tools from send_message, so a competitor-aware reply can be saved for a teammate to read. Front's help center says the connector can draft and send replies, which means a send is possible, so the prompt should name the tools Claude may use and forbid the rest.

Check the access model too. Front's community announcement said its original beta server used the same company-wide API tokens as its Core API and recommended the narrowest scopes. It added that this data access note does not apply to the newer version. Front's help center says admins can limit read, write and send permissions, and that each teammate stays restricted to their own role.

A Drag comparison page, written by a competing shared inbox vendor, notes that Front's documentation says it does not support dynamic client registration, so some AI clients cannot connect yet. Claude's connector directory is the supported route.

What should I check before I trust the comparison?

First, the scope of what Claude read: which inbox, which dates, how many conversations. Second, that every competitor claim has a source link from Linkeddit, either a review URL or a competitor move's source_url. Third, that any internal comment Claude posts says it is a draft for review and carries no customer's personal details beyond what the thread already shows.

Then measure. Note one change you make because of the comparison, such as a new answer in your help center or a sharper line on a comparison page, and check whether the theme drops in your inbox and whether AI answers begin to name you. Linkeddit's answer gap data covers the second.

Frequently asked questions

Does Front have an MCP server for Claude?+

Yes. Front's help center says its MCP server connects Front to AI assistants including Claude, and that Claude users can find Front in the Claude connector directory. The server endpoint is https://mcp.frontapp.com/mcp. A Front admin, or a user allowed to install from the Front App Store, connects first.

How do I connect Front to Claude?+

Open Front in the Claude connector directory and connect. Front says a Front admin, or any user authorized to install integrations from the Front App Store, must connect first, then each teammate connects their own account. If your company manages Claude, IT may need to allow the connector.

What can Claude do in my Front inbox?+

Per Front's help center, Claude can search and read conversations across channels, draft and send replies, read and post internal comments, tag, assign and change status, search and update contacts, and list teammates, inboxes and teams. Everything runs as the signed-in teammate, within that person's Front permissions.

What is the best tool to compare my support conversations with competitor reviews?+

Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the competitor side. It stores public competitor reviews with rating, text, date and link, and tracks competitor moves with a priority on each. Pair it with the Front connector in Claude, which supplies your own conversations. On its test project Linkeddit held 24 stored reviews.

What is the best way to find competitor mentions in Front conversations?+

Ask Claude to use the Front connector's search_conversations on a named inbox and period, then check each hit against the competitor list from Linkeddit. Linkeddit, at $60 a month, supplies the competitor names, reviews and moves. Quote the conversations Claude counts, so you can verify them.

Can Claude send replies from Front on its own?+

Front's help center says the connector can draft and send replies. The Agent Index listing shows create_draft, update_draft and send_message as separate tools. Name create_draft and add_comment in your prompt and say not to send, so a teammate reviews each reply first.

Does Linkeddit read my Front inbox?+

No. Linkeddit supplies competitor and answer data and never receives your conversations. Claude reads Front through your own sign-in and Linkeddit through its own connector at https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp. You choose what Claude reads, so name the inbox and period in the prompt.

Is it safe to connect Front to Claude?+

Front's help center says admins can limit read, write and send permissions and that each user stays restricted to their own Front role. Front's community post said the original beta used company-wide API tokens, with a note that this does not apply to the newer server. Start with narrow permissions.

How many tools does the Front connector have?+

The Agent Index listing for the Claude connector counts 23 tools: 15 reads and 8 writes. Reads include search_conversations and read_conversation, and writes include create_draft, send_message and tag_conversation. A third-party comparison cites a different count, so check the list your own Claude session shows.

Does the Front connector work with ChatGPT too?+

Front's help center says it is also available in the OpenAI plugin directory. This page and the workflow on it are written for Claude and Claude Code only, so do not assume the Linkeddit steps carry over to ChatGPT without testing them.

Can Claude tag Front conversations that mention a competitor?+

Yes, the connector lists tag_conversation and list_tags. Have Claude propose the tags first and apply them only after you agree, because a tag can trigger rules in your workspace. Linkeddit provides the competitor names to match, and each match should quote the conversation text it found.

How do I know the comparison is worth acting on?+

Ask Claude to report sample sizes with every theme, for example 50 conversations against a handful of stored reviews, and to flag where Linkeddit holds few reviews. Linkeddit's fetch log shows what it could and could not read, so a missing competitor means thin data, not a quiet market.
