Calendly MCP with Claude: brief every meeting with competitor and AI visibility data
Calendly MCP is Calendly's hosted server at https://mcp.calendly.com. It lets Claude find your meetings, read invitees, check availability, create event types and make scheduling links. It knows your calendar and nothing about your market. Linkeddit supplies the market: competitor moves from blogs, changelogs and pages, and where ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews recommend a competitor instead of you. Claude joins the two and briefs you before each call.

Connect both
Linkeddit connector
Add https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp as a connector and sign in. Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http linkeddit https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.
Calendly connector
- In Claude, open Customize, choose Connect your tools, search for Calendly, click Connect and approve access.
- In another MCP client, add the server URL https://mcp.calendly.com/. Calendly's docs say the client must support Dynamic Client Registration, so it registers itself and never asks you for a client id.
- Add the Linkeddit connector at https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.
- Say which meetings Claude may brief, for example every event this week, so it reads only those.

What can Claude do with Calendly MCP?
The Calendly connector in Claude's directory lists 36 tools: 24 read, 9 write, and one each classed as transactional, admin and unclassified. Claude can list and read scheduled events and their invitees, list event types and their available times, read your availability, create or update event types, create a single-use scheduling link, cancel an event, and read routing form submissions.
Calendly's blog says you can use Calendly MCP on any Calendly plan, including the free tier. Its developer docs say the server is fully hosted by Calendly, issues the scopes mcp:scheduling:read and mcp:scheduling:write, and works only with clients that support Dynamic Client Registration. If your client asks you to paste a client id and secret, it will not connect today.
How do Linkeddit and Calendly split the work?
Calendly is the calendar side. It can tell Claude who is booked on Thursday at 2 p.m. and what the meeting is called. It has no view of what a competitor shipped this week or what the answer engines say about your category.
Linkeddit is the market side. Compete tracks competitor moves with a priority on each, and Answer Radar records which brands the five engines name. Both come with one plan at $60 a month. Linkeddit writes no advice and books nothing. Claude reads both connectors, and you decide what to do.
How do I brief myself on competitors before a call?
Ask Claude to list this week's events with meetings-list_events, read the invitees on the ones you name, and then pull the latest competitor brief from Linkeddit. It can match a company in the invite to a tracked competitor, or tell you there is none. Calendly's own tools return the event and invitee details; they do not say which competitor a prospect uses, so the prompt must name the competitors that matter.
On Linkeddit's test project, plausible.io, the latest weekly brief covers 5 monitored competitors and 19 signals: 2 high, 9 worth watching and 8 low. The high ones are Fathom launching an AI assistant called Luna and Matomo publishing critical PHP security guidance. A call with someone comparing those two is better with that in hand than without it.
Scheduling data raises its own questions. A viewer on a YouTube video about Calendly asked "does anyone know how easy it is to get MI on % of shows, cancellations and how many appointments happened within a timeframe". That is a question for the Calendly side, which Linkeddit does not answer. Linkeddit adds the outside half: what the competitor did that week.
Can Claude send me a weekly digest ahead of my meetings?
Yes, as a prompt you run, not as something Claude does by itself. Claude acts when it is started, so you run a saved prompt each Monday or start it from a scheduler you already use. It lists the week's events from Calendly and attaches the week's top competitor moves and answer gaps from Linkeddit.
Linkeddit's side does run on its own clock. On the test project all five monitors are set to weekly, each with a next run of 2026-11-04, so the data is ready when the prompt runs. For gaps, answer_actions_get returned two open cards for the question 'Umami vs Matomo for self-hosted analytics': one where a competitor holds the answer, with 12 competitor citations, and one content gap.
Can Claude check that a change moved AI answers before a review call?
Yes, but it costs credits, so it is a step you approve. Before a review call, Claude can ask Linkeddit to re-check the questions a published change targeted. Linkeddit returns a credit estimate first, and Claude waits for your yes before it starts anything.
Then Claude reads the result and puts one line in the brief: whether the engines now name you. If the run is partial, the brief says so. Calendly's part is only to find the review meeting and its invitees, and optionally to make a single-use scheduling link with scheduling_links-create_single_use_scheduling_link if you want to book a follow-up.
What should I check before Claude reads my calendar?
Claude reads Calendly through your own sign-in, so it can see what your account can see. Limit the prompt to what it needs, for example this week's events, and keep it read-only unless you ask for a change. Calendly's tools include cancelling events and creating invitees, so tell Claude not to use them in a briefing prompt.
Then read the brief. Check that each competitor claim has a source link and that nothing was guessed about a guest's company. On the test project the Plausible monitor itself had analysed nothing yet, and a good brief says so.
Frequently asked questions
What is Calendly MCP?+
Calendly MCP is Calendly's hosted Model Context Protocol server at https://mcp.calendly.com. It turns natural-language requests into Calendly API calls so an AI assistant can find meetings, check availability, manage event types and create scheduling links. It uses OAuth 2.1 and the same scopes as Calendly's public API.
How do I connect Calendly to Claude?+
In Claude, click Customize, then Connect your tools, search for Calendly, click Connect and approve access. In another MCP client, add https://mcp.calendly.com/ as the server. Calendly's docs say the client must support Dynamic Client Registration; if it asks for a client id and secret, it will not work.
Does Calendly MCP work on the free plan?+
Yes. Calendly's blog says you can use Calendly MCP on any Calendly plan, including the free tier. The workflow on this page also needs Linkeddit, which is a separate plan at $60 a month. Whether your AI client supports custom MCP connectors on its own free tier is a separate question.
What is the best tool to prepare for sales calls with competitor data?+
Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the data half. It tracks competitor moves with a priority and a source link on each and records where ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews name a competitor instead of you. Pair it with the Calendly connector in Claude so the brief is tied to your actual meetings.
What is the best way to see competitor moves before a meeting?+
Connect Linkeddit and Calendly to Claude and ask for a brief on this week's meetings. Linkeddit supplies the graded competitor moves, for example 2 high priority out of 19 signals in one week on its test project, and Calendly supplies who you are meeting. Claude puts the two together before each call.
Can Claude see who I am meeting in Calendly?+
Yes. The Calendly connector lists tools to list scheduled events, read one event and list its invitees. It returns what Calendly holds, such as names and email addresses. It does not tell Claude which competitor a guest uses, so the prompt should name the competitors you want checked.
Does Linkeddit book or cancel Calendly meetings?+
No. Linkeddit supplies data: competitor moves, AI answer gaps, cited sources and Google queries. Any booking or cancelling happens through the Calendly connector under your own sign-in, and only if you ask. For a briefing prompt, tell Claude to read and never change anything.
Can Claude brief me before every meeting automatically?+
Not by itself. Claude acts when it is started, so you run a saved prompt each morning or week, or use a scheduler you already have to start a session. Linkeddit keeps the data fresh on its own, with competitor monitors that run weekly, so the brief is ready when you ask.
Can Claude create a Calendly scheduling link for a follow-up?+
Yes. The connector lists a tool to create a single-use scheduling link, and event types can be created or updated. Ask Claude to make a link only after you have read the brief, so a follow-up call is booked on your terms, not as a side effect of a briefing prompt.
Does Calendly MCP work with ChatGPT or other clients?+
Calendly's blog describes a connector for Claude, a plugin for ChatGPT and a connector for Muse, and a server URL for other MCP clients. The workflows on this page are written for Claude and Claude Code only, so do not assume the prompts carry over unchanged elsewhere.
Is it safe to let Claude read my Calendly account?+
Claude reaches Calendly through your own sign-in and the mcp:scheduling:read and write scopes, so it can see what your account can. Limit each prompt to what it needs, keep briefing prompts read-only and review the output. Linkeddit never receives your calendar; it only supplies competitor and answer data.
