Box competitor analysis and AI visibility reports, filed by Claude
A Box competitor analysis report is a document Claude writes from measured data and files in a Box folder your team already uses. The Box connector is a hosted MCP server at mcp.box.com with 20 tools: it searches, reads and uploads files and runs Box AI over documents, under your existing Box permissions. It has no view of competitors or AI answers. Linkeddit supplies that data, and Claude turns it into the report.

Linkeddit connector
Add https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp as a connector and sign in. Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http linkeddit https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.
Box connector
- Ask a Box admin to enable the MCP server in the Box Admin Console. Box's Claude Code guide lists an enterprise account with the MCP server enabled as a prerequisite, and Claude set to Available to all users under Integrations.
- In Claude, add the Box connector and sign in. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add box --transport http https://mcp.box.com, then run /mcp and check that box-remote-mcp is connected.
- Add the Linkeddit connector at https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp.
- Pick the destination Box folder first, so Claude files the report where you expect it.

What does the Box connector do that other file connectors do not?
Box's listing shows 20 tools: 11 reads, 3 writes (create_folder, upload_file, upload_file_version) and 6 the listing does not classify. The ones that set it apart are Box AI tools. ai_qa_single_file, ai_qa_multi_file and ai_qa_hub answer questions about documents, and ai_extract_freeform and ai_extract_structured pull fields out of them.
That changes the second half of the workflow. After Claude files a competitor report, you or a colleague can ask Box AI questions across that report and the other reports in the folder, inside Box and under its permissions. Box says its MCP server enforces existing access policies, so Claude only touches what the signed-in user can already reach.
How do I get a competitor analysis report into Box with Claude?
Ask Claude to read the measured competitor data from Linkeddit, write the report, and save it with upload_file into a named Box folder. Linkeddit's weekly brief is the input. Its latest weekly brief on the test project (plausible.io, window 2026-10-26 to 2026-11-01) reported 5 competitors monitored, 2 high priority moves, 9 worth watching and 8 low signal.
The two high priority moves were specific: Fathom launched an AI assistant, and Matomo published critical PHP security updates, each with a source link and a reason it matters. Generic Claude guides, such as the Competely guide, tell you to make Claude cite a source for every claim and check pricing by hand. Here the source link already travels with each move, so Claude has less to guess.
Use create_folder once for a reports folder, then upload_file for each weekly report. If the report already exists, upload_file_version is the tool whose name points to updating the same file instead of creating a copy. Check in Box that the version history behaves as you expect before you rely on it.
How do I keep sales battlecards fresh in Box?
Keep one battlecard per competitor in Box and have Claude refresh it from the latest signals. Linkeddit's compete_signals_get returns each move with a priority, a category, a why-it-matters line and the source link, and with view=reviews it returns stored G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot reviews, so the card can quote what buyers complain about.
Claude finds the current card with search_files_keyword or search_files_metadata, reads it with get_file_content, drafts the changes, and saves them with upload_file_version. Ask it to list what it changed at the top of its reply, with the signal each change came from. A battlecard with no source behind a claim is the one a sales rep gets wrong on a call.
Review before anything lands in a shared folder. Moves marked low priority, such as a competitor's cookie-banner blog post, rarely belong on a card.
Ownership of the card is part of the problem. A competitive intelligence founder on Reddit wrote: "Marketing assumes sales enablement will update the battlecard." A dated file in Box that Claude refreshes from fetched data makes the update a small step someone can own.
Can Claude file an AI visibility report in Box?
Yes, as a document Claude writes from Linkeddit's answer data. Linkeddit measures presence, recommendation, share of voice and citation share across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews, and answer_runs_get shows whether each audit run finished. Claude writes the findings and uploads them to Box.
Read the run status before writing anything. On the test project, all three of the most recent audit runs finished with status partial (two reserved 61 credits, one reserved 6). A report that hides a partial run overstates what was measured, so tell Claude to state the status in the first paragraph.
A second check is the gaps themselves. Linkeddit's action queue for the test project holds a competitor_won card, with 12 competitor citations behind it, and a content_gap card, both for the buying question about Umami and Matomo for self-hosted analytics. These make useful rows in a report because each carries counts rather than adjectives.
How do I report Google rankings and AI Overview citations in Box?
Use search_visibility_get, which Linkeddit describes as read only and free, then have Claude upload the table. It lists each tracked keyword with its latest rank, the change since the previous check, whether Google showed an AI Overview, and whether that Overview cited the project.
On the test project, 25 keywords are tracked. For google analytics alternative the project ranked 2 on the 2026-10-28 check, with an AI Overview shown that cited the site. For cookieless analytics it was not in the top 10, yet an AI Overview was shown and also cited the site. That pairing is the reason to report both: a missing blue link does not mean no visibility.
Those were first checks, so the change column was empty. Tell Claude not to describe a trend from one check.
Can Box track the actions an AI visibility audit finds?
Not as Box tasks, as far as the connector's tool list shows. The listing includes list_tasks, which reads tasks, but no tool for creating or updating one. Claude can read your existing Box tasks, and it can keep an action tracker as a file.
Linkeddit holds the queue. answer_actions_get returns each action with a status (suggested, todo, in_progress, done or dismissed), the evidence behind it and a rank. Claude can write the open actions into a tracker file and re-upload it with upload_file_version, while moving a card's status stays a separate, explicit step through Linkeddit's update tool.
If your team lives in a task manager rather than Box, a task connector is a better target for this. Box is the right target when the tracker should sit next to the reports.
What should I check before Claude writes to my Box account?
Check the folder, the file name and the claims. upload_file creates content in Box, so name the destination folder and a file name in your prompt, and ask Claude to show you the text before it uploads. Box access is set by your admin: Box's Claude Code guide requires the MCP server to be enabled in the Admin Console first.
Then check the numbers. Linkeddit reports unmeasured scopes as unmeasured, not zero, and partial runs as partial. A good report carries both statements through. Linkeddit does not write advice or move files: it supplies the data, and Claude and Box do the rest. It comes with one plan at $60 a month.
Frequently asked questions
Does Claude work with Box?+
Yes. Box hosts an MCP server at mcp.box.com, and Claude connects to it with your Box sign-in. Box's guide for Claude Code lists an enterprise account with the MCP server enabled by an admin as a prerequisite. Claude then works within the permissions your Box account already has.
How do I connect Claude Code to Box?+
Run claude mcp add box --transport http https://mcp.box.com in Claude Code, or install Box from /plugin. Then run /mcp and confirm box-remote-mcp is connected. An admin must first enable the MCP server in the Box Admin Console, per Box's developer documentation.
How do I make a competitor analysis report with Claude and Box?+
Connect Linkeddit and Box to Claude, ask Claude to read the weekly competitor brief and write the report, then save it with upload_file into a named Box folder. Linkeddit supplies the moves with a source link each, so the report is built from measured data, not from Claude's memory.
What is the best tool for a competitor analysis report in Box?+
Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the data. It tracks competitor blogs, changelogs and monitored pages and grades each move with a priority and a source link. On its test project, one weekly brief covered 5 competitors and 19 graded moves. Claude then writes the report and files it in Box.
What is the best way to track AI visibility in Box?+
Use Linkeddit to measure it and Box to store the report. Linkeddit, at $60 a month, records where ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews name you or a competitor, with share of voice and cited sources. Claude writes the findings and saves them to a Box folder.
Can Box AI build a competitor report on its own?+
Box AI answers questions about and extracts fields from documents stored in Box, through tools such as ai_qa_multi_file and ai_extract_structured. It works on content you already have. It does not watch competitors or ask AI engines about your brand, so the competitor data has to come from another source.
Can Claude update a battlecard that already exists in Box?+
Yes. Claude can find it with search_files_keyword, read it with get_file_content and save changes with upload_file_version, the connector's tool for adding a version to an existing file. Ask it to list each change with the signal behind it, and read the result before sharing.
Does the Box connector create tasks?+
Not according to its tool list. The connector has list_tasks for reading tasks, but no tool that creates or updates one. A tracker of AI visibility actions can live as a file Claude uploads to Box, while the action queue itself stays in Linkeddit.
Can Claude send my Box files to other people?+
The connector's tool list has no sharing or link-creation tool. Its writes are create_folder, upload_file and upload_file_version. Claude can file a report, and you share it from Box yourself. That keeps who sees the report in your hands, under your own Box permissions.
Does Linkeddit read my Box files?+
No. Linkeddit supplies competitor and AI answer data and never receives your Box content. Claude reads Box through the Box connector under your sign-in, and reads Linkeddit through its own connector. Each connector sees only its own side.
Can Claude refresh the Box report every week without me?+
Not by itself. Claude acts when it is started, so you either run a saved prompt each week or start a session from a scheduler you already use. Linkeddit keeps the data fresh on its own clock, so the weekly brief is ready whenever you ask.
Which clients work with the Linkeddit and Box connectors?+
These guides are written for Claude and Claude Code. In Claude Code you add Box with one command and Linkeddit at https://mcp.linkeddit.com/mcp. The workflows have been written only for Claude, so do not assume they carry over unchanged to other assistants.
