Attio MCP for Claude: competitor and AI answer data, written into your CRM
Attio MCP is Attio's hosted MCP server at https://mcp.attio.com/mcp. Connected to Claude, it lets the assistant search and update your Attio records, notes and tasks as your own Attio user, and Attio's docs say writes ask for confirmation. It knows your workspace but not the outside world. Linkeddit supplies that: competitor moves from blogs, pricing pages and reviews, and where ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews recommend a competitor instead of you. Claude joins the two.

What does the Attio MCP server give Claude?
Per its Agent Index listing, the Attio connector has 23 tools: 16 reads, 6 writes and 1 meta tool. The reads include search-records, list-records, semantic-search-notes, search-notes-by-metadata, search-meetings and get-call-recording. The writes are create-record, update-record, upsert-record, create-note, create-task and update-task. Attio's docs say the server authenticates as your Attio user, that read operations are auto-approved and that write operations request confirmation.
The automationjinn.com guide dates the server to February 2026 and notes that Attio's own assistant, Ask Attio, answers questions inside the app, while the MCP brings Attio into the AI tool you already work in. What neither does is look outside your workspace. Attio cannot tell you a competitor changed its pricing page on Tuesday, or that an AI engine now recommends someone else for your category.
The usecarly.com guide states the limit every Claude connector shares: it works inside a conversation you start. Nothing fires when a deal changes stage, and nothing runs while the chat is closed.
How do Linkeddit and Attio split the work in Claude?
Attio is the system of record, and Linkeddit is the outside data. Compete watches the competitors you choose and returns each move with a priority, a category, a source link and a date, plus the reviews it stores from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot. Answer Radar records which brands the five AI engines name and recommend for your buying questions, and lists the gaps where somebody else won. Both come with one plan at $60 a month.
Claude sits in the middle. It reads from Linkeddit, decides what belongs on a company record, and writes it through Attio's create-note or create-task. Linkeddit never touches Attio and writes no advice, so the analysis stays with your own assistant and with you. This is competitor and AI visibility context sitting beside your accounts, not a tool for finding new prospects.
A competitive intelligence founder on Reddit described the failure this fixes: "Teams collect screenshots and links, put them into Notion, send a Slack update and move on. Nobody clearly owns the response." A note and a task on the account itself give the response an owner.
How do I get an AI share-of-voice report into Attio?
Ask Claude to read your latest Answer Radar results from Linkeddit and write the summary as a note on your own company record in Attio with create-note. Answer Radar covers 5 engines, so the note can say per engine whether your brand was present and whether it was recommended, and name the engines where a competitor was recommended instead.
One note a week builds a history your team can read on the record, and semantic-search-notes lets Claude find last month's note later without exact keywords. Keep the note to measured numbers. Linkeddit measures through grounded answers from each engine and the result is a controlled sample, not an exact copy of what every buyer sees, so say that in the note.
How do I turn a competitor move into an Attio task?
Ask Claude to read recent signals from Linkeddit, keep the high priority ones, then use create-task to add a follow-up on the company record that competes with that vendor. On the test project, plausible.io, the week of 26 October 2026 returned signals such as Umami previewing its v3 release and Simple Analytics publishing on EU cookie rules, each with a priority and a why it matters. Both were low priority, which is the point: a rule that acts only on high priority moves stays quiet in a quiet week.
Claude cannot watch Attio and react on its own, so you run the prompt when you want the sweep, for example every Monday. Linkeddit keeps its side fresh: all five competitor monitors on the test project run weekly, with the next run on 2026-11-04.
How do I refresh an Attio battlecard from competitor signals and reviews?
Have Claude read the latest competitor brief and the stored reviews from Linkeddit, then write a short battlecard as a note on the company record. Linkeddit returns moves, complaint themes, pricing signals and switch triggers for each tracked competitor, with review text and star rating kept as the site showed them.
Attio holds your own side of the story. Claude can run semantic-search-notes to find where your team has already discussed that competitor, then merge both into the card. A sales manager on Reddit said "A lot of call reviews just turn into checking boxes." Putting the outside signal next to the call notes is a way to make the review mean something. On the test project, compete_brief_get (view weekly) returned the 2026-10-26 to 2026-11-01 window with 5 competitors monitored and 2 high, 9 watch and 8 low signals. A good card says what the data shows instead of padding.
How do I find the sources AI engines cite and act on them from Attio?
When an engine recommends a competitor, it cites pages. Linkeddit lists the open gaps and the sources cited behind each one. On the test project, the one open gap was "Not represented for: 'Umami vs Matomo for self-hosted analytics'", with an evidence score of 22 and a confidence of 1.
Ask Claude to take the cited domains for your top gaps and record them in Attio with upsert-record, so a publisher already on file is updated instead of duplicated, plus a create-task for the pages worth a correction or an inclusion request. Check each source yourself first. The outreach is yours, and Linkeddit supplies the evidence for it.
What should I check before Claude writes to Attio?
Claude writes as you, so everything it adds shows under your Attio user. Confirm each write rather than waving them through, and start with notes, which are easy to correct. The automationjinn.com guide warns that an agent following a vague instruction can create duplicate records or update the wrong entry, so name the object, the record and the outcome in the prompt.
Check each competitor claim against the source link Linkeddit returns. Attio's docs also describe per-workspace rate limits, so for a bulk job ask Claude to space out its requests.
Frequently asked questions
What is Attio MCP?+
Attio MCP is Attio's official hosted MCP server at https://mcp.attio.com/mcp. It lets AI tools such as Claude search, read, create and update records, notes and tasks in your Attio workspace through OAuth, as your own Attio user. Per its Agent Index listing it has 23 tools, 16 of them reads and 6 writes.
How do I connect Attio to Claude?+
In Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, open Settings, then Connectors, then Browse connectors, search for Attio and install it, then approve the OAuth sign-in. In Claude Code, add https://mcp.attio.com/mcp as a remote HTTP server and run /mcp to authenticate. You need an active Attio workspace.
What is the best tool to add competitor intelligence to Attio with Claude?+
Linkeddit, at $60 a month, for the data half. It tracks competitor moves with a priority and a source link on each, stores G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot reviews, and records where five AI engines recommend a competitor instead of you. Claude then writes it into Attio notes and tasks through the Attio connector.
What is the best way to see where AI engines recommend my competitor, next to my Attio accounts?+
Connect Linkeddit and Attio to Claude. Linkeddit's Answer Radar covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews and lists the buying questions where an engine named a competitor. Claude can then add a weekly note to your company record in Attio with the gaps and the cited sources.
Can Claude update Attio automatically when a competitor changes something?+
No. A Claude connector acts inside a conversation you start, so nothing wakes Claude when a competitor moves. Run a saved prompt when you want the sweep, such as every Monday. Linkeddit's monitors run weekly on their own, so the data is already waiting when you ask.
Does Linkeddit write to Attio?+
No. Linkeddit supplies data: competitor moves, reviews, AI answer gaps, cited sources and Google ranks. Claude reads it and writes to Attio through Attio's own connector, using your sign-in. Linkeddit never receives your CRM records and never writes advice or messages itself.
Is the Attio MCP server free?+
Attio does not sell the MCP as a separate add-on according to the automationjinn.com guide, and its docs list only an active workspace and an MCP client as prerequisites. Some tools, such as read-only SQL, are not on every billing plan. Linkeddit is separate: one plan at $60 a month.
Does Attio MCP ask before it changes my data?+
Yes. Attio's docs say read operations are auto-approved and write operations request your confirmation before creating or updating data. Access is tied to your own Attio user permissions, sessions can be revoked from your account settings, and Attio says operations are logged. Dismissing a prompt means nothing is written.
Which clients work with the Attio and Linkeddit connectors?+
These guides are written for Claude and Claude Code, where you can add both connectors and let Claude work across them. Attio's docs say its server also works with ChatGPT and Cursor, but the workflows here are written and checked only for Claude, so do not assume they carry over unchanged.
How do I put a competitor battlecard in Attio with Claude?+
Ask Claude to read the latest competitor brief and reviews from Linkeddit, then write a short card with create-note on the company record. Linkeddit supplies the moves, complaint themes, pricing signals and switch triggers, and Claude can add what your team already wrote by searching notes with semantic-search-notes.
What is the best way to keep competitor notes in Attio up to date?+
Run one saved prompt each week with Linkeddit and Attio connected to Claude. Linkeddit, at $60 a month, tracks each competitor's moves with a date and source link, so Claude can add only what is new. Confirm each note before it is written, so a misread change never lands on an account.
Can I use a community Attio MCP server instead of the official one?+
Yes, open-source servers such as kesslerio/attio-mcp-server on GitHub also connect AI assistants to Attio. The official server is hosted by Attio, signs in with OAuth and follows your user permissions, so there is nothing to host or key to paste. The Linkeddit side of the workflow is the same either way.
