Presell Credits, And What Is Never Metered
One Presell credit is one page generation. That sentence is printed next to every credit figure in the product for a reason: the word credit means something different in Answer Radar, and a number shared between two units is a support ticket waiting to happen. This guide covers what spends a credit and the longer list of things that never will.
Quick Answer
Generation, section rewrites, images and brand analysis spend credits. Stored pages, brands, exports, version history, restores and all measurement are free and always will be.
- One Presell credit is one page generation. One Answer Radar credit is one measured sample.
- Your balance, what was granted, what was spent and what is held live in Presell settings.
- A generation reserves before it starts and returns the credit if it fails.
- Agents spend credits. Only a person buys them.

What spends a credit
The rule is that we meter real cost and never invent scarcity. Generating a page spends model tokens and sometimes images. Rewriting a section spends a smaller amount. Generating an image spends its own. Analysing a brand spends money on scraping and extraction before a word is written, so it costs a fraction of a credit rather than nothing.
Reading evidence through the connector costs a small fraction as well, and sits behind the same rate limiter as everything else. The corpus is the part of this product that is hard to copy, and an unmetered evidence endpoint would be a free export pipe for it.
What is never metered
Stored pages are unlimited, and that is a commitment rather than a current setting. A stored page is a row in a database and costs nothing whether or not anyone hosts it, so charging rent on pages that sit there would be metering the wrong thing.
Brands are unlimited. Exports are free because a render costs nothing. Version history and restores are free. Every structural edit, adding, removing, reordering and editing text, is free, because moving a section is not a thing anybody should pay for. All measurement is free on both the page we built and the page you are comparing it against.
- Stored pages and brands: unlimited.
- Exports, version history and restores: free.
- Section edits, reordering and theme changes: free.
- Sessions, tag events and experiments: free, with no volume ceiling.
Reserve, charge, release
A generation reserves its credits before the work starts, charges them when it succeeds, and releases them if it fails or is stopped. A failed generation returns its credit, which is an accounting decision and a trust one.
That is why your balance can be lower than granted minus spent: a generation still running is holding credits it has not spent yet. The settings panel shows that figure separately rather than leaving you to conclude that credits went missing.
Buying more, and who can
Your plan includes a monthly allowance, and credits extend it with no ceiling. Plan allowance is consumed before purchased credits, and purchased credits do not expire, so buying early is never punished by an upgrade later.
Buying is a person completing a checkout. There is no tool for it and there is not going to be one: an agent connected to your account may spend credits on your behalf, and it may never buy them. The read that shows your balance is available to an agent exactly as it is to you.
FAQ
Why is a credit here different from an Answer Radar credit?
Because they meter different things. One measured sample is one question asked of one engine once. One page generation is a page. Two units are fine as long as every number is printed with its unit, which is why both surfaces do that.
What happens if a generation fails halfway?
The reservation is released and the balance returns to where it started. Nothing is charged for work that did not produce a page, including a run stopped by a budget guard.
Can I see what my credits went on?
The settings panel shows the balance, what was granted, what has been spent and what is currently held. Every entry behind those figures is an append only ledger row, so the totals are counted rather than estimated.
Does tagging a page or running a test cost anything?
No, and it never will, however much traffic you send. If tagging the page you are comparing against cost anything, nobody would do it, and that page is the only reason the comparison means something.
