Share Links: Showing a Result Without a Seat
A share link shows one result to a client or colleague without giving them a seat. It shows the summary only, never the underlying answer text or cited sources, it expires on its own, and it can be switched off early. This article covers what you can share, what the recipient sees, and how to manage links you have created.

From a project's Overview, Share creates a link to one gap, run, fix or the project's metrics. The link shows the summary only, not the answers or sources behind it, and expires after 30 days by default. The full URL is returned once and cannot be recovered, so save it. Revoke a link at any time; anyone opening it afterwards is told it was revoked.

Creating a link
On a project's Overview, the Share button creates a link and shows it once with the note 'This shows the summary only, not the answers or sources behind it.' Through MCP, answer_share_create takes a resource type, gap, run, fix or project metrics, the resource id and an optional label. Either way the full URL is returned exactly once and cannot be recovered afterwards; the shares list deliberately does not return URLs.
What the recipient sees
The summary of the thing shared: for a gap, what was asked and who was recommended; for a run, its status and headline counts; for a fix, its title and status; for project metrics, the numbers with their disclosure. Not the answer text, not the cited sources, not any model identity. That boundary is what makes a link safe to send to someone outside the account, and it is why a link cannot substitute for a seat when someone needs to work the evidence.
A recipient needs no Linkeddit account and sees no login. When a link has expired or been revoked, opening it says so plainly rather than returning a not found page, which stops the recipient hunting for a typo.
Expiry and revocation
Links expire after 30 days by default, and the expiry is shown when you create one. To switch a link off early, find its share id with answer_shares_list, which shows each link's target, whether it is active, expired or revoked, how many times it has been opened and when it stops working, then answer_share_revoke. Revocation is immediate and cannot be undone; create a new link if you need one again.

FAQ
Can a client see the sources behind a shared gap?
No. Share links show summaries only. If a client needs the cited pages and answer text, they need a seat on the account.
I lost the URL. Can I get it back?
No. The full URL is returned once at creation and is not stored in recoverable form. Revoke the lost link and create a new one.
Do share links count against anything?
Creating or opening a share link measures nothing and spends no credits. The shares list records how many times each link was opened.
